I entered the room with guilt heavy on my heart. I hated that I had been lying to him. Apparently, he’d been lying to me too. I took a seat next to his bed and met his gaze. I swallowed hard and whispered, “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about me and Chris.”
“Lilly, pumpkin,” he croaked out, “I just don’t know what to say.”
“We didn’t mean for it to happen.”
“Lilly, you’re still young and he’s my age.”
“I love him.” I blurt out.
“I just don’t want you to get hurt. Chris is twice your age.”

I scoffed, “Just like you got Alisa pregnant?”
