HER MANIPULATIVE

When I finished the last duties of nightmares, the day was already dark. The pack was quieter and I didn’t need to be told I was the only female omega wondering at this hour. My heart kept pounding, praying not to encounter any assholes.

I usually do.

Tin made sure I bleed in every work assigned to me.

To the extent I did others works. It wasn’t new and I should be used to it, but no… I was f*****g losing breaths, I cloud barely carry my legs. The weather was getting cloudy and soon it will be raining.

I knocked at the maids counter, twice nothing, again and again and finally the sounds of keys and unlocking.. it’s clerked opened. Tin peed out, her eyes clouded with heavy sleeps. She glared at me with irritation.

“What?”. She sneered.

“Tired..”. I managed to say.

“So!”. She shrugged. “Don’t you know the rules of the maids counter”. Of course I very well knows, it’s being made that no slave retire late than the rest, all shall retire at exact same time. “You disturbed my beauty sleep, for your worthless piece of s**t, do you know other people you’ve woken up by your knocks”.

I gave a long sigh, arguing meant nothing “can I please come in, I was held down by the work you whelmed on me”.

“Oh so you’re complaining?, well tell that to your dead meats rotted parents of yours”. She slammed the door on my face, leaving me shivering on the cold breeze.

Another 1,825 days on a cold night. It wasn’t new, wasn’t something I should rather get used to. I sat on the cold floor,, resting my head on the bricks, my clothes weren’t helping to cover my open wounds, the strings on my body rises by the cold atmosphere, I was barely covered.

They had make sure while other maids get a more comfortable dress, I was given the ones meant for mobbing the floors. I buried my head on my thighs, my arms circled around my feet shaking uncontrollably.

My stomach hurts, I hardly remember the last time i ate. Apparently since morning. “It will pass soon, just few hours to morning”.

I won’t pray for the night to pass sooner, because it’s more peaceful yet suffocating.

“Luna..“. Mira whispered beside me, shrugging her shoulders with my, I didn’t miss that smug smile on her faces when she side pointed at me towards a Beta. Celeb.

She has being having this die hard crush on him since we became friends, and each day her obsession with him grow but never had the courage to approach him. Am usually her step up girl in talking for her. Being my lady in waiting years ago, Mira was always there for me. And ready to help lessen my pain, which I’m great full for. My expectations of her being like the rest after what had happened proved to be wrong. And being the only one I got, I won’t let her slip away. Celeb isn’t like the other Wolves in the pack, his less judgmental and has showed closeness most times.

“Hmm..wanna say hi?”. I asked, knowing how impossible that was. “His nice”. I encouraged.

She hesitated a little staring back at him. Celeb was in a deep conversation with a male guard wolf, posted at the premies where we we’re arranging a base flowers at the corner.

“No…, maybe to you not me”. She replied pursing her lips.

Their story is bit complicated. Mira was bathing before the river fall when Celeb creeped out of the same water, according to her side talk’s, she called him a pervert and even slapped him across the face, he did nothing only watch in amusement, and for some reason, it’s made her heart skip a beat.

Inconvenient?. Definitely.

“You two might have started in a bad turn doesn’t mean it will remain that way”. I cautioned. When she remained silent for a while, I gave up.

Staring back at Celeb, he was already concluding his conversation with the guards, walking towards us. His expression was cold, instantly his eyes landed on me, his face softened, any traces of coldness replaced with warmth.

Celeb is known to be friendly fellow. Apparently, he was more than friendly to me than any other wolves .

Others called it love, I called it friendship, when he was questioned by Kayden, he brutally rejected having feelings for me, although his reason while obvious to me.

If he had accepted those feelings.. fingers will be pointed at me instead. He made sure I was never treated badly by other wolves, and when his absence, I returned to being bullied.

We gave a slight bow immediately he stopped before us. “Greetings Beta..”.

His face twitch into annoyance, before letting out a benefitting sigh “Friends don’t bow to each other…”. He said, sounding unimpressed with a hit of mild resentment.

“My apologies..”. I pursed my lips. He had made it clear times without numbers and I chose to ignore that.

He nodded.

“Has work being easy?”. He already know the answer..

“At times”. For once his gaze didn’t flicker towards Mira. And it’s has too. “Mira here has being a very good helping hand, so it’s less to worry”. Then he looked, their eyes locked, shortly before it’s breaks.

“Very well then…, If you need anything, I will be grand to help”. I nodded.

“Thanks for that”. Mira said immediately he left. “A glance from him, is enough to make me sleep peacefully..”. She giggled, bouncing around like a happy pups.

I hummed, her cheeks blooming in redness. I see my old self in her at times, that once lovesick fool who believes everything she knew was perfect.

I hurling dropped the dirty laundry basket, wiping away the heavy sweat off my face, I stared above at the steaming afternoon sun burning my skins. Resting both hands on my waistline, I let out an exhausted sigh. Mira was given a new duty inside the palace, this job is might to get done by me.

So without much time wasted, i washed, spreads. And when I was done the evening shadow was already surfacing.

Finally done, I slipped the non heavyweight basket on my shoulder, ready to return back to the counter before its six, a little boy bumped into my leg and fell backward.

“Ouches..”. I stared down, surprisingly finding the little kid on the ground, whining. He had short blonde hair and his big brown eyes stared innocently at me. “Luna..”.

Prince Levi, the second heir of Kayden and Elsa. He was an opposite definition of his parents, so as his twin elder brother. Kade. And for that reason, he became the pawn in my games, a kid whose heart filled with hatred for his own family.

His was stained by little mud on his face, pouting out his lips in both disgust and playfulness.

I couldn't help but smile at his cuteness.

“Not funny Luna..”. He warned, contorting his face into one serious offense.

I purse my lips staring down at him. “Pardon me..”. Literally that was a mockery, and he didn’t miss it.

“Haha, funny”. He narrowed his eyes, standing on his feet.

“I was looking everywhere for you”.

“I know”.

He glared playfully, folding his tiny hands on his chest.

“Well I came to ask if you’re joining the full moon celebration tonight?”. He asked with a hopeful look in his eyes.

I frowned.

“Tonight?”. He nodded. I totally forgotten about tonight. But does it matter.

It’s said that every wolf-less omega might be blessed in getting their wolf tonight, in the past twenty five years, I stood before the full moon, waiting to be blessed from above.

Even after Kayden rejection, I had expected the moon goddess to show me mercy, yet each night, it’s evident my enemies are her allies.

I won’t bother having hope to it anymore, Mira is also wolf less, and she has being waiting for this day, maybe if the goddess shows her mercy her hope of having Celeb as her mate will subdued.

“Luna…”. I snapped back to him, his brows frowned in anticipation.

Squatting to his level, I wiped the mud off his face. Making sure no trace of it is found.

“Why would I, I was forbidden to ever show my curse self in the ceremony. If other omega wolf didn’t surface, I will be blamed for their misfortune. And your father will have a good reason to lock me up”.

“You’re part of the pack Luna.. why most it have to be so”. His face dropped.

“Does it matter?..” Pretending gave out a weary glance. Little emotions always does the trick.

“It does Luna!”.

I remained silent.

“No alpha should allow his members to suffer such injustice and call himself an Alpha”. He gaze twitch in anger.

Levi is known for his short temper and the best path, the apple of his father’s eyes.

He pays more attention to what I say than that of any other, our closeness weren’t open, except Celeb and Mira, although their obviously step down to my manipulation on the little kid.

And if they find out the reason for his hatred towards his parents was me… well let’s think about it later.

I forced a smile, “His the alpha he knows best”.

“No.., his a fool eating on someone else power. His No alpha!”.

How did he know?. well what can’t I do. He shoved my hands of him, running back to the palace, I smirked. The history of what happened five years ago was kept hidden away. Only those presents knew of what happened. The heirs remained unaware of this story.

Kayden made it possible to the kingdom not to spill out this to anyone else in or out of the pack’s. But who was he kidding.

“It’s gonna be a long moon night”.
