CHAPTER 3
()
“Aww I can’t wait for the festival to begin, am already anxious Luna”.
I raised a brow, watching Mira paced around the corner, her hands clenched tightly to each other in silent prayers. She was already dressed up just fine, so as the other slaves.
“I wish you could join “. Her face dropped into a one sympathetic look. I replaced the mattress clothing to a new one, not replying immediately.
I hated that look, I hated being pitied, like I was afraid, like I was something that can be broken in seconds. I forced a fragile smile, brushing her comments off.
“Am used to the strings, I will be fine”. I said, sitting on the mattress. She pouted, sliding beside me, her arms hug around my shoulders. She rested her chin comfortably on my shoulders, her gaze not leaving my face.
She stared as if wanting to see if am throughly okay.
“Am your best friend you know?”. I was surprised at her sudden outburst. “And being secretive isn’t in best friends list, you can share your worries with me I..”.
“Focus on getting your wolf and maybe Celeb tonight”. I laced the Celeb part teasingly.
She tired pushing further to her unfinished words when suddenly Tin’s voice echoed outside the veranda,
“All Omega out now!”. Mira sighed, staring at the closed door before settling it on me.
“Happy moon night festival”. She said. I would be more than happy, at the drama that is about to unfold tonight, I grin.
“Happy moon night festival”. I said, forcing that same smiles that never reached my eyes. She gave a smile, before walking out in her princess like garments i made for her in the evening.
The background music echoes,I laid down on my back, arms resting on my belly, eyes shut. I t felt like hours since she left, meanwhile its minutes. My finger drumming softly to the rhythm of the musics, impatiently waiting for any chorus.
“One”.
“Two”
“Thre…”. The sounds of glasses breaking, then the music dropped silently.
“His no father, he only cares about his own selfishness”.
I smirked, hearing Levi shouting. I flip my legs off the bed, gesturing to the small window in the room. The ceremony was posted nearly before the slave counter, it was made so to torment me, to see how am deprived of joy, to see me breaking down while watching them from the little lit room. They made it their plans for my torment, I chose it to entertain myself. Everyone was still dazzled, Levi stood bravely before his furious father. I clapped my arms together, putting my arms at the window edge before balancing my chin on it.
“Stop it Levi”. Elsa warned. She was dressed in gold sulky garments, her jewels sparkling with every movement she made. My eyes caught a red moon sliver necklace on her neck, my eyes darkened.
She dares put on my necklace made by my mother, I tightened my fist, the urge to print my fingers on her face made me boiled with anger.
“Levi don’t speak to father like that!”. Kade cautioned.
“Or what, what can he do.. what more evil is left for him to do!”. He shouted back. Kade tried utterly but was stopped by a silent wave from his father. I watched him breathed out, calming his anger, a small smile on his face.
“Levi?”. He called, “tonight is meant for celebration, our pack will be blessed by the moon goddess tonight”.
I rolled my eyes more like moon deceiver. “It won’t be nice to interrupt the ceremony with resentment”. He continue.
I stared at the moon covering with little black clouds, the priest sat at his shrine chanting, and pouring ashes in the fire. The festival will begin in few minutes.
“Resentment you say?, you’re more dark hearted when you decided to feed on others power, lock away the solo hair to the throne, rejected her and you think am being resentful”.
Kayden paused, then Celeb who’s standing behind him, didn’t go unnoticed by the looks of shock in his eyes. Fear took my chest, this isn’t the plan, Levi usually avoid those sentences when arguing with his father, with…anyone. He had made a promise to me never to reveal this information no matter the circumstances. If everyone gets to find out I’ve been feeding him with hatred, I wouldn’t just be locked away, but, sent to the s*x slave at the eastern state. Nothing is worse than a s*x slave.
“Who.. told you… who told you this”. Kayden asked, dumbstruck he knew. Levi please don’t say my name.. “Answer me Levi!”. He roared, everyone stepping back as if afraid his beasts will pull out any moments.
“Does it matter?, Kayden Vent!”.
“Levi!!”.
Every strings on my body rosed immediately he raised his hand up.
“Alpha, the Alpha king of Deep Night is here”. A guard announced almost immediately, Kayden dropped his hands down, looked down as if regretting what he had nearly done.He mumbled something under his breath, existing the woods.
I stared down at Levi, he didn’t even grimaced, Elsa already shedding him from his father. It might’ve been a beautiful sight to behold as the other pack members where already enchanted by how a mother is protecting her child, however didn’t kill the wonderful chaos.
She squatted before him, embracing him in fear. “Don’t be frightened..”. She said. Levi shoved her arms off him, his anger still blazing. I smirked, I guess I don’t have to add more poison in him for the time being, Kayden just got the work done himself.
But, who ruined my entertainment. A soft knock on the door, snapped my attention towards a beautiful blonde maiden, breathed in blueberry garment, her grey eyes streaming with calmness, however a look of distain was evident on her buddy face.
“Miss Tin ordered that you clean up the mess created by the young prince.. and yes, the Deep Night Alpha king is in our territory. Make sure not to show your unfortunate self and ruin everyone mate bound ceremonial. Who knows, maybe one of us might end up being his chosen”.
Deep Night Alpha king?.
What’s so special about it. No history about the pack ever existed, and suddenly the Alpha was crowned, according to everyone, his territory is a golden moment if anyone is truly blessed by the moon goddess to be there.
An Alpha who protect his kingdom and is ready to kill anyone not mindful of his act. I mean what’s so scary about that. Her face brightened up by the very thought of getting chosen. I was about to reply when she immediately slammed the door shut on her way out. Breathing out lowly, forcing a smile enough to hide how disrespectful she was, I’m still forced to remember how things have changed.
Years ago, none had dared walked out on me. Talked back without being told to. I sighed, never have I been some evil princess in a story bookshelf, nor harmed anyone.
Yet; they choose to believe an outsider over their own princess.
