Oh sorry I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Alexanderia Colette, but my friends and family call me Lexi. I am from the Sycamore Falls Pack. It’s a small pack in northeastern Ohio slightly south of the city of Cleveland that houses around 300 wolves and is fairly welcoming to all kinds as long as they are peaceful.
I’m not a ranked wolf nor am I an Omega. I’m the elder of my parents, Elijah and Elizabeth Collette’s two children. My younger brother Elijah Jr. is called EJ for short, since he’s named after my dad.
My life growing up would be considered normal for the most part.I was never part of the popular group and I may be quiet, but I can’t stand a bully, which was something I had to make known early on in life. Being a hybrid, I’ve heard all the insults one can think of and I’ve heard stories of how other wolves have been treated even by their own pack. I never went looking for trouble and was fortunate enough to be raised in a pack that was good for me.
I guess the place to start the sad, complicated story of my love life is the beginning. You can probably say it started with my first relationship, which was when I was 16. That was also when I first met my oh-so cute furry best friend and wolf Sierra. My first shift was normal. I was the first of my close friends to meet their wolf since my birthday was in October. My dear friend Tia’s birthday was in November, then Janet’s was in December. I was so fortunate to have those two that year and let me tell you why.
That spring following our first shift was when we were finally able to attend the Annual District Convention. It was a week-long program for young wolves to help them determine their future career path and position in the pack. Future Alpha’s, Beta’s, Gamma's, Delta's and even Omega’s were separated to do their own training, both male and female. This convention was also a place where many younger-ranked wolves developed alliances and many within age found their mates.
I had a year and a half still before I was even able to sense my mate, but I really enjoyed meeting all the new people from different packs. My parents came as well and introduced me to their friends from other packs. That is when I met the Alpha and Luna from my mom’s former pack, the Western Revier Pack, which is almost two hours away on the Ohio/Pennsylvania border. My mom said she had a lot of classes with Luna Dianne at school and that's how they became friends.
I remember being impressed with how beautiful Luna Dianne’s aura was. I could just tell she was a good person. She was just as powerful as her mate, Alpha Ralph, but it was still very strong.
They introduced me to their son and future Alpha of the pack, Rashawn. I remember thinking how handsome he was the first time I saw him. His 6’4” muscular body was well defined in that gray suit. He had a very handsome defined face and a smile was enough to light up a room. Unfortunately, I could feel his annoyance and also had the privilege of witnessing how aware he was of his good looks. He was completely surrounded by shewolves.
When his mother introduced us, he suppressed his emotions but gave me the most intense stare, like he was trying to figure something out about me, then simply said, “Hello” before walking away back to his entourage. An overly made-up shewolf with extremely long fake nails and terrible looking blonde extensions asked him if his mother was going to require him to baby sit me and he laughed at that comment.
“Seriously? I'm good. I definitely don't need a babysitter.” I said, rolling my eyes at the girl clinging to the young alpha’s arm.
Plotting my departure, I then turned to my parents and the Alpha and Luna I was with. “Alpha, Luna, it has been a pleasure to finally meet you.” I said, addressing Alpha Ralph and Luna Dianne. Then I turned to my parents, “Mom, Dad, would it be okay if I went to find my friends?”
“Sure, sweetpea, just come check in before you go to lunch.” My dad said, giving me a hug before I walked off.
“He was handsome but that guy definitely is a jerk. I hope he’s not our mate.” huffs Sierra.
“I know girl, let's get away from here. His little entourage is annoying.” I replied to my wolf.
It didn’t take me long to find my girls Janet and Tia in the halls and for them to slip away from their parents to explore the grounds before our classes were to begin.
The convention is held in an area that’s considered neutral grounds in a facility that is best compared to a giant pack house. It has 475 regular guest suites and 25 for ranked wolf families, an up-to-date gym and training facility, a huge training kitchen, a complete water park, spa, a movie theater, an arcade, 24-hour bars, a recreational room, a giant 24-hour cafeteria, a huge auditorium and 50 giant classrooms.
Your first classroom assignment depended on bloodline and the next was area of skill. For our first class, Tia was going to room 5, Janet was going to room 27, and I was going to room number 34 class. Classes started at 8am and were two hours long, then we had lunch with our parents and we were planning to meet outside the big cafeteria afterwards.
