Dealing With the Devil
Lacey sat at a table close to the door that led past the old jail cell and on to the back door. She was smiling, and silently writing sentences down on a piece of paper sack she got from the store. She began to lose the smile a little as she wrote. The thought of marrying Louis should have been the only thing on her mind. It wasn’t. As soon as she was alone, she began to remember Jeff. He had the potential to destroy everything. If he decided to start talking to Louis, the right lies would be hard to expose.
She knew more now about the cave he wanted, but she also knew that it would be double-crossing Talon and Aggie if she told him. If she could be sure Jeff would only go there one time and then get lost, she would have felt much better. But she knew J
