Me- A story Life is all about new challenges, discoveries and finding new hobbies. But is it so straightforward? Hello everyone, this is Jagriti mandal, a young poetess and writer... Set out to accomplish greater heights... But is it so easy? No. Not really. Indeed, life can be hard at times. Moreover, we might face challenges that prove to be harder every time. And between all that, is it easy to not give up, and keep going until the end to see what's in there for you? No. I think every human being out there faces hardships, struggles and pain in their lives. It's pretty normal to... If you set out to achieve a goal, in every phase, you will come across roads. There will be roads you don't opt, for and regret later... There will be roads that would be right, but not for you... We indeed come across choices that are forced upon us. Oops, can't call them choices though! They are called 'compulsions'. One would be compelled to make a choice, even when they don't wish to... A common example is our parents forcing us to choose a stream, a career goal, etc... Our friends forcing us to do something for them... It is not easy to say 'no'. I, myself, have faced numerous challenges growing up. From a little infant to a kid and finally, now a teenager. Growing up was not easy, and still isn't. Especially, in our adolescent period where we are neither adults nor kids... People expect us to start thinking about our futures, but then treat us like kids when we can handle stuff. Don't you agree? I have had a wave of emotions hitting me without any warnings and I never knew why... When I shared it with someone, they used to say, "You are overreacting. Spend time studying instead of thinking unnecessarily!". I never once understood, what studying got to do with this... It's weird, people I mean... They never once try to understand someone and expect us to apprehend them, when the time comes. All these numerous expectations have been eating me up. All these desires, that they couldn't fulfil are being pressurised upon me... Slowly, everything is ending... Everything is coming to an end. An end...that I had expected would come one day... But will it be so soon? For once, Instead of being hated upon, instead of urging me to achieve more, instead of making ne feel worse every DAMN minute... Would it be so difficult to spill some words of appreciation? Some words to encourage and make me feel proud for how far I've come until now, how much I've acquired and learnt, how much I've developed from that baby to a young woman... Will it be so difficult? Looking at that mark sheet, you'd say, "Ok, but you could have done better if you studied" instead of "You have done well. But I'll be hoping you would improve a little more, the next time!". What I could conclude is, with a little bit of hearty appreciation, one could be inspired greatly. One would realise that people are rooting for him/her and do better.. Yes, life is about improving and enhancing our skills to become the best version of ourselves. It is to ensure that we grow up to be useful to our family, our career and our surroundings. That's undoubtedly a useful hypothesis. But I still do believe, that a person cannot improve or be better over a few nights. It takes months, even years to grow a skill up to being professional in it... Every good thing takes time! Ok, well, it's a little bothering to only talk about my disadvantages and regrets... There are a lot of things, I am grateful for too... So as a teenager in the modern world, I think I have gotten well-deserved opportunities to grow my opinions and talents. There's no doubt about how much we can still learn, even if there's nothing to do, which probably is never the case. Growing and learning never stop. And our first step to learning is guided by our parents who support us from a young age. Then our teachers, who guide us through our schooling years... There's always someone to support me, everywhere, which I am very grateful for... Because not many are helpful, understanding and observant about you... Some tend to ignore and leave you behind... Luckily, I've found people of all kinds. Some people support me, people, who talk behind my back and the ones who have two faces... Life is also about discovering and getting to know others. Becoming friends from strangers with a small tete-a-tete..... Every person has dilemmas to think about. It's not easy to turn over a new leaf. Remember, it takes time and patience to discover, work and acquire tremendous outcomes. Work on your behaviour and mind... Everything is possible with a good attitude towards bad events. Kickstart each day with a positive thought, even if you don't get a positive result at the end. All that matters is that you've tried and earned whatever you have at the moment. Do whatever you have to do, and don't wait for opportunities to come, create them.... Stay happy, and enjoy life to the fullest. Even if there are more depressing moments, learn to smile at life...
