Early Shift

"Scrub faster b***h the floor isn't going to clean itself!" Kiley says while I'm on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor. "I'm trying but your annoying ass voice isn't helping any. You could get down here and scrub since it's so important to you." I say and roll my eyes. "You better shut up and scrub before I start beating you!" She says in her normal nails on chalkboard voice but way louder. "Oh my I'm so scared!" I say putting my hand to my mouth in a sarcastic way with mock fear. She growls and walks closer. "Shut the f**k up b***h and do your job!" She says looking pissed off. "Or what your going to "beat me" b***h please even the omegas hit harder than you!" I say with annoyance and amusement in my eyes. "b***h!" She squeals and slaps me. It was a hard hit that made my face turn but it didn't hurt. When she hits me it makes me want to laugh in her face because from the years of abuse made me immune to pain, so when I'm hit it doesn't hurt. I couldn't hold it in anymore and I bust out laughing like a maniac. She looks shocked and a little scared at the same time and that just makes me laugh harder. People start filling in the living room where I was laughing crazily. They all look scared but at the same time confused. I shoot up from the ground and turn to Kiley. I know what I'm about to do could get me locked up in the dungeon and beat daily but I don't care. "Let me show you what a real punch should feel like." I say with anger and amusement in my eyes. She looks scared for a second but she quickly hides it. "You can't touch me, my dad would ki-" I cut her off with a strong uppercut that sends her flying to the floor and passing out. Everyone gasps shocked that I hit Rogers daughter and that I was strong enough to knock her out. Someone growls from behind the crowd and comes charging out at me. It's my mate Colton and he looks pissed. He tries to punch me but I duck before he lands the hit. He tries again but I move again. I watch them train during the day while I clean, so I know how he fights. I use what I seen from their training to train myself at night. The fact that my own mate is trying to hurt me for another wolf angers me and hurts me at the same time. I got so lost in thought that when I finally looked up it was too late. He punched me hard in the face and it wasn't the hit that hurt, it was the fact that he hit me that hurt. I couldn't take it anymore so I tripped him and ran out the packhouse into the forest. I kept running for I'm not sure how long but I finally stopped when I got to a cliff. I looked over it and seen the ocean and big sharp looking rocks at the bottom. I just sat there and cried for about an hour. I was ready to go but after I got a few feet away from the edge of the cliff my bones began to break causing me to scream out. "Sorry Kayla I've seen what you've been going through and I'm so sorry." Someone says in my head. I'm confused because it can't be my wolf since my birthdays not until another month. "Who are you?" I say in my mind. "I'm your wolf my names Rena." She says and I'm instantly happy but then I go back to sad after what I have to tell her. "Rena our mate rejected us I'm sorry." I whimper. "It's okay I know Kayla. We don't need him." She says trying to hold back her own whimper. "My birthday isn't for another month and since I'm the listener rank of the pack you have to stay hidden for a while okay? I can't let them find out I have a wolf." I say to her. "Even though I think you shouldn't hide me, I will for you." She says with reassurance. I smile "Thank you so much Rena I truly don't deserve a wolf like you!" I say and she growls "Kayla you deserve so much and you don't even realize it." She says sadly. "Hey all I need is you and my freedom and I will get that soon and we can start over okay?" I say trying to lift both our moods and I feel her wolf head nod in my mind. I smile and it's only then I realize I'm in wolf form. I look down to see I have black fur with gold and red streaks on it. "What does the streaks mean. I know black fur is rare but what does the streaks in our fur mean?" I ask. "Kayla we are very powerful and there's a lot that you don't know but with time you will figure it all out." She says and that leaves me confused. "But I'm just an ordinary weak wolf?" I say with confusion. "No Kayla your powerful. It's rare for wolves to shift that early. Some alphas shift about a week before but it's not heard of for a wolf to shift a month early." She says and I just nod my wolf head. "We can't take a risk of someone seeing us run so I have to shift back." I say to her and she helps me through my shift. It's really painful but the pain is worth it. When I'm shifted all the way back my figure has changed too. My normal rusty black hair is now shiny and a few inches above my hips. My hips are wider and my stomach is flat with abs. My chest has gotten bigger too. I just hope nobody notices, I say to myself. "We're so hot and built like a goddess." Rena says and I laugh a little. "That's a little exaggerant don't you think?" I say amused. "f**k no we are hot as f**k!" She says causing me to laugh harder. I find some clothes in a tree nearby and put them on. I head back and as soon as I step through the door I'm slammed into a wall. "Who the f**k do you think you are to hit my daughter like that." It's the w***e of a want to be luna. "I was just trying to show her what a real hit should feel like. I could show you too if you want?" I say and she growls letting go of me. "Did you just threaten me little mut?" She ask and with my senses heightened my ears hurt from her loud scratchy voice. "Damn lady I only offered to teach you how to throw a hit and here you are hurting my eardrums!" I say rubbing my ears.

"You stupid little rat! I will be telling my mate about what you have done!" She says and I mock fear. "Oh no your weak ass alpha is going to hurt me! Oh please don't I beg you!" I say sarcastically with a grin. She tries to slap me but I catch her hand and hit her. "Listen you old w***e do not ever try to hit me again! I am fed up with you people hitting me!" I say and let go of her hand but she doesn't learn and she punches me in the face and it only pisses me off more but I just decide that I'm being too confident. "I can't wait for my mate to hear what you've done." She says and I just walk away.

I'm in my tiny ass room when it suddenly goes flying open. Rogers is standing there flaming with anger. I sigh and I see he's holding a whip in one hand and silver cuffs in the other. Normal wolves would be freaking out right now. I'm usually panicking right now but I just feel calm. "Rena why are you so calm right now?" I say confused. "Silver doesn't hurt us like it does other wolves. That whip will hurt a little but it won't hurt as much as it would other wolves." She says still calm. I fake panic so Rogers doesn't get curious as in to why I'm not panicked like I usually am. He grins evilly and puts the cuffs on my wrists. It burn but it isn't from the cuffs. He laced them in wolfsbane! It burns but not super bad like it should. I scream anyways so he doesn't suspect anything. He jerks me up and takes me out front and it confuses me since usually I go in the basement. As soon as we step outside I see he whole pack looking at me. I'm taken to a pole that is put in front of everyone and he takes off the cuffs and makes me turn towards the pole with my hands on each side. He cuffs me to the pole and begins talking in his annoying ass voice. "This is what happens when you put your hands on my luna and daughter." He says and strikes my back once. I bust out laughing and I can imagine everyone's shock and confusion. "Your "luna" has been sleeping with your beta and she isn't even really your mate or you would have known that." I say and laugh even harder. I caught the w***e and beta a few weeks ago but only the beta seen me but he only smirked. He probably thought I wouldn't say anything. I'm struck again but this time it's weaker and I figured the want-to-be alpha family are taking turns striking me. "You b***h do not fill my mate with your disgusting lies!" The w***e says with a little fear in her voice. Her saying that makes me laugh harder than the last time. "You and I both know I'm not lying otherwise you wouldn't be sounding so scared right now. I turn my head to see how the beta is reacting but at that same moment I am striked again by the w***e and she got about an inch of my jaw with the silver coated whip. It burns but not super badly. I see the beta looking at Rogers pale as paper and Rogers looks pissed. He takes the whip from the w***e and starts striking at my back mercilessly. Some of the pack members are telling him to stop but he isn't listening. I'm losing a lot of blood and I feel like I'm about to pass out. Someone finally takes the whip from Rogers but before I could see who it was I'm falling to the ground about to pass out. I feel the tingly electric feeling you would feel when your mate touches you and before I fully pass out I hear Colton whisper, "Hold on baby you can't die on me." But it doesn't sound like him so I'm assuming his wolf took over.

I hear beeping but I'm not sure what it's from. I can't open my eyes or move any part of my body. Panic builds up in me and I try again. It isn't working. I feel someone staring at me from somewhere in the room. This makes me nervous but at the same time I'm not scared. I hear their footsteps as the get closer. "You need to open your eyes and wake up." They whisper in my ear. It's a woman's voice and their voice is soft, caring, and warm like how a mother talks to her child. I finally open my eyes and see a gorgeous woman with long black shiny hair like mine. Her eyes are electric green and her skin is tan. She's so beautiful! "Hello my child." She says in her sweet voice. "Hi I don't want to sound rude but who are you?" I say with a confused look on my face. "I'm the moon goddess my child and you need to wake up." She says in her motherly tone. "My wolf Rena is she okay?" I ask worriedly. "Yes my child but you have to call out to her so she'll wake up." She says and smiles reassuringly. "How do I call out to her?" I ask and she puts two fingers to my forehead and takes me to my mind where Rena is sleeping in a dark corner. "Oh my goddess is she okay?" I ask the moon goddess looking worried. "Yes my child she just got really tired healing you and fell in a deep sleep. You must wake her now or she won't wake up for a long time." She says sadly and I'm instantly panicked. "How do I wake her?" I ask panicked. "You just have to walk over and comfort her into waking up. When she wakes up you will wake up. If she doesn't wake up you will both be stuck in a deep sleep for a few years until she finally wakes up." She says and I begin to panick more. "You need to calm down my child. Your wolf can feel how your feeling and it will not help her wake up." She says and I try to calm down. When im finally calmed down I walk over to Rena and comfort her.

Rena woke up with a huge yawn and stood up. She's so huge! She looks down and and licks my face and gives me a wolfy grin. I hug her and turn to thank the moon goddess. "Thank you so much for helping us moon goddess!" I say with happiness in my voice. Rena who's at least 7'0 towers over me and makes both of us bow to her. "Your welcome my child. Just do one thing for me." I look up. "What is it moon goddess?" I ask and she smiles. "Don't bow to me." She says and I'm confused. "But you are the moons goddess I should always bow to you." I say looking confused. "You are my niece do not ever bow to me." She says and I'm instantly in shock. "How is that possible?" I say with tears in my eyes. "Your mother was my sister." She says and smiles sweetly at me. "How did my parents die?" I ask crying. "The current alpha of your pack teamed up with the rogue alpha and destroyed your pack. Your parents, siblings, and you were very loved by the pack but they all died protecting you. Your mother new the time would come and she prepared the pack for it. She knew all of them would die and that you would live and everyone knew but they loved you so much that they were proud to die for you." She says and I'm full on crying now because of this. My family and pack died for me. It's all my fault that they're gone. "You are very powerful Kayla, even more powerful than me. Your powers will come in on your birthday and you will be hunted by many alphas if they figure out how powerful you are. You need to train daily and always be ready for anything." She says and I nod with determination. "Rena keep her safe." She says and touches Rena's forehead and it makes the streaks in her fur glow alone with her blood red eyes with gold streaks in them.
