Time is running out. I have been chased away from different packs. I should already give up. But I can’t. I just can’t. I have gone to many packs and they still give me the same answer as if I am trying to steal something from them.
I swear dear evil mom has been running her mouth at everyone that I wanted her throne.
So the news has spread everywhere and whenever I go, I hear my mother has placed a bolo on me. I don’t want to tell you how much she is offering. Mom is getting eviler and eviler. Mom, I don’t want to say I hate you since you brought me here. I push it away and continue walking.
I am exhausted. My hair is everywhere, it is like a nest. And it feels like it is growing every night.
Right now, I am heading towards a territory that everyone advised me not to. I don’t care if it will be a dead end or if I am walking into my cemetery. I arrive at the bad territory and see a raccoon. It flies away immediately.
I see a crow sitting, I shoo it away again. I am getting used to weird kinds of stuff now.
For more than one hour, I think of nothing.
I arrive at a border fence with the wall, I look back and see no one. I am not giving up. Not now and not ever. I walk around and finally find a gate with the letter L has boldly written on it. Shudder rushes through me.
Everyone knows what L stands for in our supernatural world. L means Lycans. No wonder the strangers I asked on my way here said this territory is bad news.
They are much worse than vampires. Lycans can look at you and you will melt into the ground. They are scary as hell. I recall dad telling me stories about them and it always ended with me asking him to keep going.
Yeah, I had been the definition of not getting scared easily.
I don’t care if they will tear me apart the moment they will see me. Dad had always told me werewolves are bad and now after they have treated me like a scumbag, I am sure he had been wrong.
Perhaps, the features they described the Lycans would be a lie, yeah?
“Oh, you wish.” Juniper laughs.
Shut it, Juni.
I wish I knew how to handle the Lycans since I am here uninvited and in a bad time. What will I say? Will my mind betray me? Oh, I should introduce myself as Alpha Redford’s daughter. Maybe, just maybe, the Lycans will recall dad and help me.
The gate opens and I enter. Juniper tells me to run and I shut it down. She doesn’t fight me and I panic. That is fast. That is scary.
The land in front is bare and dry. What the actual f**k? I thought I will get a packhouse. Juniper, Juniper, Juniper. I need help here.
Juniper doesn’t answer. I look at the blue sky and pray she does. Just thinking she isn’t ignoring me and she just can’t hear me creeps me out. No one taught me the steps of going insane but I am sure it entails losing touch with your wolf.
“Juniper,” I call out loud.
“Mira. What do you want?”
“Don’t leave me alone.”
“Mmmh. I was thinking. What if we transform and become the bad wolf that we are.”
I laugh until tears fall from my face, “Juniper, you wish.”
“It was worth trying.” She says.
I nod and start heading toward what I hope isn’t my doom.
I see a big building standing from far away. When I get excited and run. I arrive at a wall and it disappears. “What?” I scream.
I look ahead and the building is still there. I take a step forward and hit a wall. “Great.” Yeap, a magic wall. I hate it. This is bad. I turn around and almost fall. It has a letter written on it Y. I don’t know what to do next.
Sighing, I listen to Juniper’s stupid idea and introduce myself. “Hi, I am Mirabel. Alpha Redford’s daughter.”
I stay for a few minutes and nothing happens. The moment I decide to leave, a booming voice comes, “turn right and you will find a gate.”
I hate right.
I follow the direction and find a gate. There is a letter C. I introduce myself again and the gate opens. I gasp at the scene in front of me. There are rows of flowers. Someone might think I have walked into a florist shop.
I head to them and they start closing up. This is boring. Before I call out and announce I come in peace, a kid's voice calls, “hey.” I greet. The kid smiles as she opens her palm. She has two letters AN.
The kid hits me on the nose and I fall. “What are you doing?” I inquire while holding my burning nose. Using her left hand, she hits me again on the nose. I black out, wondering why the kid has this much energy.
*
I don’t know what love is, but I always wished for motherly love. Anyways, coming back, I wonder why they hit me. I woke up in the middle of a dark room. I have waited and waited for the kid to come and nothing.
I am getting bored and I hate that the only person I know about and who occupies my mind is her.
After one hour or so, the door opens and a man enters. He has the sweetest smile I have ever seen and the bluest eyes. I shake my head when Juniper says he is the same animal that killed dad.
“Excuse me, why did the kid hit me?”
The man chuckles. “Kid, it is not a kid. She is the leader.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
The man helps me and takes me to a single room filled with flowers. “I heard you called me a kid. I am not a kid.” A lady dressed in a sunflower dress tells me. She is the replica of that kid that hit me. She goes directly to the point, “Ms. Redford, I am not helping you.”
“I have asked of nothing,” I whisper.
“Yet.” She says watering some flower pots. I wait patiently for her to continue. I don’t know why I can’t talk. I link my hand behind me and look at her intently. She finishes, “I have heard of you. Since you are young and never got a chance to learn what we are, I will let you go. Don’t ever come back.”
I open and close my mouth.
“You better return home and ask forgiveness from your mom, I am sure she will forgive you.” She circles her finger in the air and a portal appears. My eyes widen. I take a step back. No. Oh, hell no. I am not going back to White Moon Pack.
“Hold her.” The lady says.
I hit a brick. Turning around, I find it is that man who came to pick me up.
“Missy, that is the door.” The man says, smirking.
Uh? I am confused.
The lady taps me from behind, “I am leaving. I hope I don’t get you here. There are monsters around here, monsters who won’t hesitate to tear you apart. Go home, Mirabel Redford.”
Why is everyone turning me away like this? Why is no one taking me in? What did I do to deserve this?
