Chapter 13

Ian I'd had enough of listening to the crap that she-wolf was spouting out. A special wolf? An eclipse wolf? Powers? Yeah. Sure. I can probably fly. I didn't stay long enough to listen to what an Eclipse wolf actually did. I was too pissed. I wanted to know more about my mate. Only about my mate. The news of Jack being a dad fuelled my need to know more. I started to wonder about my own pups. My wolf got excited and impatient. I almost punched Scotty in the face when he kept on asking Petra about her powers. She didn't give too much away, never giving straight answers. Apparently she needed rest and food before she shows us, that went down like a lead balloon. What she needed was to tell me about my damn mate. When she finally ate a sandwich and after I almost choked out Scotty to stop his damn questions, I asked her about my mate. She didn’t even know who my mate was, only that hers and mine were in close proximity. I hated her, but I had this irrational need to protect her. Why was she so special? Sure she had powers, but they seemed to be pretty useless if she managed to get trapped by that fuckwit, Cam. My wolf puckered out his chest, we were a protector, apparently, and Petra had been looking for her Eclipse wolves along with her mate. That poor guy is going to need the patience of a saint dealing with Petra. She was more excited about Kate and her pups than answering our questions. Everyone seemed to know a lot more about these special wolves than me, well except Jack. Pretty sure he didn't know what was going on after he heard pups. He went into protective wolf mode. I almost felt sorry for Kate. He won't let her out of his sight now. I know him. He even tried to go to the bathroom with her when she got up to pee. Kev had to sit him down and explain that he would have to curb his wolfs urges or Kate will kick his ass for being too suffocating. I'm seriously pissed at Kev because he suspected that I was special due to my size and temperament. Yet said nothing or claimed that I didn’t listen. Yeah sure he had called me special once or twice, but I thought he was just trying to comfort me when I was younger. When I was older I honestly thought he was just taking the piss when he said it. I had to get out of that place. I needed to feel the purr of my bike between my legs and the air of the open road. Scotty had run after me, but I just needed to be alone. I managed to get on my bike and out there faster than he could in order to follow. With a clear head I could focus. By taking in and hiding Petra we basically declared war with Cam. That dickhead didn’t like us from the beginning and made life hard, even for our nomads that regularly came back to Rogue MC after long trips had difficulty getting through or around his border. The last straw was when Fagin was attacked on the border by Cams patrol and almost died. Nonny went ballistic and threatened to have a witch curse them, I wouldn't put it past that old wench, she had connections. We had to basically beg Cam for an alliance. That had left a bitter taste in Justin's mouth. Justin. s**t. How am I going to explain this to him? He’s going to go bat s**t crazy. He's the President. This should have been run past him first. He had a whole MC to protect. I know the twins hate Cam and his pack. Couple months ago they played a prank on the patrol wolves which ended with 5 of Cams wolves skin being blue for a week. We all knew it was them, but we managed to convince Lewis that it must have been human kids. Jack almost pissed his pants when he saw one of the wolves in town, bright blue and annoyed. Announced to the whole bar that he just spotted Papa Smurf walking up the high street. Justin had to call a MC meeting and explain that Cam wasn't someone we could mess with; he would have no qualms in killing us all. The boys backed off and we never interacted. After a nice ride along the coast, I headed to Baal City. I needed a drink. A night away. Kev and Kate would look after Petra. I'd have to face Justin in the morning. I called the club and made sure Troy was there if any of the staff needed help. I headed of Valaria, a club on no man’s land. I parked up a block away from the club. I needed to make sure my baby was safe before leaving her overnight. There was a queue outside the club. Damn it. I spotted the bouncer and relaxed, it was Galaxy. He was a member. Sometimes he'd hang out in the bar. He was a Rogue. One that had it rough, he was have beaten and had two bullet wounds when he came to the human town, shot for escaping a pack that held him as a slave. He didn’t trust anyone, not even us. Only when he started riding with us did he start to let his guard down, eventually becoming a nomad. He had a place in the city. I knew he crashed there after long shifts at Valaria, rarely staying in the pack house. He let me crash there a few times. We'd even shared a few girls, we were all drunk and even shared a kiss. More at the ladies’ request. Those were some wild nights. “Hey Galaxy.” I walked over to the entrance ignoring the queue. “Yo. Ian. Go on in man. Busy tonight. Stay outta trouble.” He winked at me. “Ha, trouble, me? I'm a bloody angel.” He roared with laughter. “Yeah. Yeah. I get off at 4am. Come and get a key if you need it.” Galaxy moved for me to enter the blue door to the club. “Thanks man.” The heat, smell of alcohol and sweat hit me like a bucket of ice water had been thrown in my face. The club was one big square room with bars on every wall. The middle had a huge dance floor and a DJ booth elevated at its centre. The mass crowd danced around the booth waving their hands and bodies against one another. Above the bars were terraces that looked down onto the huge dance floor. It was basically the area to watch or hang out if dancing wasn't your thing. Bar stools scattered everywhere, I headed to the bar and grabbed a couple of beers and a whiskey chaser, before heading up to the second floor. I was a big guy. I knew I was easy on the eye. The leather also attracted attention and tonight was no different. Men and women, looking and sending flirty winks. Trying to get my attention, but I just couldn’t be bothered, which made me even more pissed. I noticed a red head across the terrace. She smirked and winked at me. I recognised her. Damn. I'd slept with her before, last year sometime. A quick bang in the toilets downstairs. It had been fun apart from the awkward aftermath. She clung onto me all night. In the end I went back home. She managed to get my number and messaged me 31 times the next day, each one begging me to answer. After the 27th phone call, I answered. I tried really hard to let her down gently, that I hadn’t made any promises the night before. I felt horrible and Kate gave me evils throughout the whole conversation. Truth was I never slept with the same woman twice, if it did it was probably by accident. I’m just never interested. It was fun in the moment and then after I felt nothing. Maybe shame, a little guilt, but never had the urge to call or speak to them ever again. I know how it made me look. Kev called me the womaniser. Deep down I was trying to find the right one, but none of them seemed to fit. Anyway Kate had to eventually pretend to be my girlfriend, much to Jack's annoyance. Even after I told the red head that I wasn’t interested she continued to text and call. She even managed to find out I had a club and stalked me for 3 weeks. “Hello. Ian.” I felt a hand on my bicep. Oh no. I turned. The red head smiled back at me. The little stalker looked cute in a tight navy satin dress that gave a great view of her t**s and showed far too much leg. “Hi. Ummm.” s**t forgot her name. I think it's a flower of some kind. “How are you?” “You don’t remember me do you?” I shivered with disgust when she rubbed her breasts against me. “Yeah sure I do. We bonked in the loos.” She laughed. “My name?” I sipped my beer. Rose? Poppy? Nope. Not that, it was stuck in the back of my mind. “It’s Primrose. Or Prim.” She laughed again showing her perfect white teeth. Truth was she looked sweet with her freckles, green eyes and button nose. Yet I just didn’t want anything to do with her. I smiled. “That's right. I remember. Look Prim. I have to go it's good to see you.” I stood up. “Oh don’t leave so soon.” She stroked my hand. “The night is early. Stay for a drink.” I grimaced. What was wrong with me, this was an attractive she-wolf, I should want to stay. “Look Prim. You seem sweet. Find yourself a decent guy. That's not going to happen in this place.” It was the truth most of the people here were just after a quick lay. “And he definitely isn’t a decent guy.” I rolled my eyes when a hand patted my back. “Hello beautiful. I'm Scotty.” I sat back down on my stool, Scotty sitting one next to me and pulled up a stool for Prim next to him. His hand patting my shoulder. His attention on the red head. May be I should warn him of her stalkerish ways before he gets too close. I heard him call me an insensitive blind turd so thought better of it and let him carry on. He can find out the hard way. I giggled evilly making Scotty look at me in confusion. I winked at him. The waitress brought up more drinks. More people tried to flirt, but all I could think about was Petra and my mate. My mate was close. I needed my mate.
