Chapter 19

Captured

Mason

Mason snarled at Paul.

"Come on now. Don't be like that. In another time or another place we might have been good friends. You can't think Hannah wants you right? I mean well...look at you. Fangs, hair every place...no woman in her right mind would find that appealing! With you out of the picture I can take my rightful place with her and Mimi. As it should be. You know she was supposed to be with me. Not that brother of mine. Kind of like you. Brothers are a pain in the ass huh?" chuckles Paul as he lugs Mason in the cage over to his car.

Suddenly Nathan lunges at Paul. Startling him. Paul yells as he is tackled down to the ground. Mason and the cage drop to the ground.

Mason noses his way out of the broken cage. His foot was still greatly wounded though.

"Get the hell off of me!" Paul demands as he struggles with Nathan snarling on top of him. Mason joins in on the action "Someone help! These beasts are attacking me!" Paul calls out.

"Paul! What are you doing here still? I thought you left? Fearless?! Reckless?!" Hannah cries as she comes out to see what the fuss was all about now.

"Get them off of me! They are rabid! They are dangerous" Paul cries out as he demands Hannah calls off the beasts.

"Fearless! Reckless what has gotten into you boys?" Hannah demands to know.

She manages to pull Mason off of Paul. "Fearless is hurt! Paul what did you do to his leg! Why is that broken cage there?" Hannah demands to know. Paul scrambles to get up.

"I know what they are Hannah. They are Mason and Nathan" he tells her. Hannah's eyes grow wide.

"Did you bug my home to Paul? Why are you acting crazy?" she demands as she checks over poor Mason's foot.

"I was worried about you. I had good reason to be. So I did bug your home. I saw Mason transform. We can make good money selling these two. Think about it Hannah. Mimi will be set for life. She will get to go to any college she wants to" Paul rambles on. Nathan snarls angrily at him.

"Paul you did this to Mason! You hurt him by trapping him. It is against the law to do this to our wild" warns Hannah.

"So what?! I was doing it to keep you safe. This is the thanks I get?" Paul grumbles.

"Paul I am going to have to call you in" Hannah tells him.

"What? No do not call the authorities, I will not be able to be around to keep you and Mimi safe if I am arrested" Paul warns her.

She gets out her phone.

"I have to call. You are a danger to me and others around us" Hannah tells him as Nathan and Mason stay close to her side.

"You better think twice about that Hannah, you are making a big mistake" warns Paul angrily.

"I am calling you in" Hannah warns. She goes to dial on her phone.

Mason watches as Paul pulls out a gun.

"I warned you that was a bad idea" Paul tells her. He rushes in the home.

"Paul?! What are you doing?" Hannah cries out in alarm.

"Mommy? Uncle Paul?" Mimi calls out as Paul carries a sleepy Mimi in his arms.

"MIMI!" cries out Hannah.

"I warned you" Paul laughs.

Mason and Nathan growl angrily preparing to attack.

"Back off" Paul warns them as he holds a gun to the child.

"Mommy!" cries Mimi.

"Paul please! Please do not do this!" cries Hannah.

Paul heads to his car. He throws in Mimi into the back seat.

"Mommy!" cries a worried Mimi.

"Paul you can't do this!" cries Hannah in alarm.

"I did not want to have to do this to you Hannah. But I had to. You left me no choice. Mimi is safe. She will be returned. Only if you do not call the cops" warns Paul.

"Please Paul" Hannah cries as tears come to her.

She goes to come closer to Paul's car. Trying to get to her child. Paul shoots at her without shooting her.

Paul gets in his car. Taking off with the child.

"NO!" Hannah cries.

Nathan takes off to chase the car. Hannah falls in the snow feeling defeated. Tears come to her. Mason wanders limping over to her side.

"Mason what am I going to do? He has her" cries Hannah. She hands on to Mason's neck. She puts her face into his fur.

"You poor thing. He hurt you again. Come inside until we can figure out what we need to do next" Hannah sighs as she brushes tears away. "I hope your brother will stay safe out there" worries Hannah. She heads in. Mason follows behind her limping in her place.

"I never thought Paul was like this. You were right all along about Paul. I should have listened to you Mason" mutters a upset Hannah. She tried to force back worried tears. She got out her first aid kit to take care of Mason's wound. She leans down to clean it.

"This might sting a little okay?" she warns Mason.

She applies ointment on the wound. Mason winces as he growls softly. She then wraps his leg up tightly so it could heal properly.

"There you go" she tells him softly.

Tears fall again. She cries.

Mason comes over to her as she falls to the floor as her tears consume her. Mason noses his nose under her arm. Making her place her arm around him. Trying his best to comfort her. She holds him close to her side.

"She has to be alright. She is all I have left" cries a worries Hannah.

There is a scratching noise at the door. Nathan. Hannah allows him to come in. He wants her attention.

"Hey you tried to stop him. Thank you Nathan for trying to rescue my daughter tonight. We will get her back" Hannah vows to them both.

She cries more. She could not stop her tears.

Nathan holds his head back as a worried howl escapes his lips.

Mason howls with him.

This was not yet over.

The fight had just begun.
