‘Out! Got ’im!’ Kelly shouted, raising her index finger to the sky as Bo caught the ball on the full in a magnificently dedicated leap from the riverbank.
‘Hey, that doesn’t count,’ Dave complained, swinging the cricket bat around in protest.
‘Of course it does,’ Dave’s mum announced when everyone turned to her for adjudication. ‘Don’t be so species-ist. Bo has as much right to play as anyone else. He certainly has the skill.’
‘Fine. His turn to bowl then,’ came the grumbled response.
