Chapter 30 Lucas must have found his parents’ car keys because Annie could hear the rumble behind her as he over-revved the engine and skidded on the dry gravel. Harry’s dirt bike was good, but would be nowhere near fast enough to out-run the Gracewoods’ Commodore once they made it to the road. So she didn’t take the road. Slowing just enough to take the turn safely, she leant over the handle bars so her head wouldn’t be removed by the low-hanging branches of the trees in the old laneway. The narrow track was barely discernible these days.
