Brendan's POV
I sat in my office, going through the work that my father kept piling up. It's been two days since I arrived here and I am starting to go insane.
This pack is working like it is still under my father. They still ask me how he is doing and if at all he is going to come back.
At this point I don't know if I did a good thing or committed a grave mistake by chasing my love. The day I went to the capital pack, was the day I lost my pack. Now it is beyond repair and even if it is, it might take me years from now.
There is a knock on the door and I groaned. I asked them to come in, and I expected it to be Ravi. That man is the only one I can tolerate as of now. True to his word, he is a great secret keeper and has been by my side relentlessly.
The moment my mother's scent hit me, I concluded that my mood is ruined further.
"How many more days are you going to avoid me, Brendan?" she asked me and I still chose silence.
"Is there anything I can do, or say that will make you talk to me again?" She asked me and I finally looked at her.
She cannot be asking me this right now. Especially after everything that I went through because of her.
"I don't know mom. Shall I call dad so he would help me explain to you just how much of a broken man I am? Maybe if I wasn't so broken, I would have talked to you and acted like nothing bad had happened. But I am sorry I am a man with emotions and feelings. This is how I am going to cope up," I said and went back to reading the document in front of me again.
This particular case is giving me a headache. What the f**k does this guy mean when he says he wants pup exchange?
The phone on my table rings and I picked it up in an instant. No one other than Yasmyn calls me to this phone.
"Yasmyn?" I said in a hurry. Hurry to hear his voice.
"Yeah about that," Selena said and I was taken aback.
"She needs you now. Get to the capital pack as soon as you can," Selena said and hung up.
Without a second thought, I stood up.
