Chapter 45

Yasmyn's POV "It's okay. You don't have to be here if it is uncomfortable for you," I told Brendan but he did not move an inch. The guards at the patrol mindlinked me that they just lifted the gates up to people coming from The Sundown Pack with their formal Alpha in the car. I asked them to get that man to be my sunrise but it's already two hours since the sun is up, but it's alright. They brought him to me and let's just focus on that for now. "I know he is your father, Brendan. I don't want this to ruin you mentally," I told Brendan again. "I am the Alpha of The Sundown Pack. The former Alpha is here with an allegation. Meanwhile the future Queen is my mate. So it's only fitting that I stay here while you interrogate him," Brendan said. I exhaled out loud and looked at the opened doors, as four guards brought Andrews in with his hands tied with a silver rope. Well, I didn't ask for that move but whatever makes it easy for them. "We meet again, Andrews" I smile at him but he is not smiling. Instead he is glaring. Not at me but at his son. Brendan is staring at his father with a blank expression on his face though. "So this is how you repay your father for the life he has given you?" Andrews asked Brendan. Brendan did not say a word. He just stood behind me, and waited for me to take the action. But that's the thing. With Brendan here, I cannot take any action against his father. So I decided to be civil and talk first, and then let my guards talk to him later on. I need to appoint a Beta first. Since Silas is not here, I need someone under me who could do all the dirty work like this. "Why did Adi cancel your license for trading the poison, Andrews?" I asked him, coming straight to the point. He looked at me with an amused smile. "You are still a child. You wouldn't know," Andrews smirked. And that triggered something in me. Well, he thinks I am a child, then I can show him what a child could do and already did. "Can you sell your poisons now?" I asked him and he glared at me, quietly understanding where this is heading. "Tell me, Andrews. Can you sell your poisons now?" I asked him again. "No, your Majesty" He said with his jaws shut, and the tick in his lower jaw showing that he is just resisting his anger. "Well, why don't you? Why won't you?" I asked him, raising my eyebrow. And now, I have the smirk that he doesn't have on his face. "Because you declined my request, Your Majesty. Without your permission I cannot sell them," he said and I stood up, taking three steps towards him. "Well, why so? I am a child after all," I said and the look on his face is clear that he is beyond embarrassed. Good. I like this look on him. "And coming to the reason that you are here," I whispered and glanced at Brendan one more time, before talking to Andrews. "You will be here in the prison, taking up all the torture that we give you. Because my brother and my parents are sick because of the poisons that came from your laboratory," I said and watched Andrews's face drain all the colour. That is clear. He knows something. And it's about how he is going to get it all out. "Now throw him in the silver cell. Make sure to not give him any food and water until further orders directly from me," I told the guards and they bowed to me before taking Andrews away again. "Do something son. I am your father. You cannot let this happen to me," Andrews asked Brendan as he walked out but Brendan chose not to respond. "You'll pay for choosing a girl over me. You'll pay soon," Andrews said just before he was dragged out of my office. I mindlinked the guards stationed outside to not let anyone in for the next five minutes. And once that was done, I turned around to Brendan. He was zoned out. Probably thinking about his father's words and warning. "Hey," I whispered and he finally looked at me, snapping out of his own thoughts. "Hm?" He asked me back. I threw my arms around his shoulders and pulled him closer to me. He glanced at the main door, made sure it was closed and only then relaxed into my touch, with his hands over my waist. "What's gotten you thinking like that?" I asked him and he shook his head. "I will have to get back to my pack for the time being," he said. I nodded at him in understanding. Of course he should go now that his father is here in the Royal prison. When I wanted him gone, he was around me. And now when I want him to stay with me, he has to leave. Sure as hell universe knows how to play well. "There is something else you are not telling me," I whispered as I looked at him. And I watched as his smile grow wider but the kind of one that doesn't reach his eyes. He is hiding something. "Nothing like that. There is nothing there in this world that I don't share with you, that would help you. I was just worrying about my pack. About facing my mother after what happened the last time I was there," Brendan said. But it is clear that that's not the case. There is still something else that he is not telling me. Do I ask him? Do I give him space? "Okay then. As long as there is nothing, everything is fine" I smiled at him and let him go, just in time because someone knocked the door. And this time, the person that walked in took me by shock. The Rogue King. Colton.
