Yasmyn's POV
I laughed out loud. My life cannot get worse than this. My life cannot get more twisted than this. My life cannot freaking get more dramatic than this.
Instead of being surprised or shocked, I feel funny. Why can't life give me a goddamn break at this point?
"You saw who?" I asked him, because the timing is actually impeccably great.
"I didn't stab Vernon. I stabbed Silas. Because he was saying a bunch of nonsense that made me trigger," Raul said.
And just like that, I was straight. Adi personally told me not to associate much with Silas. And now Raul says that Silas said something that triggered him and it wasn't Vernon he stabbed.
I sat on the bed while he stood with his expression still in shock. I am just trying to understand what the heck is happening here because this doesn't even make any sense at this point.
"What did Silas tell you?" I asked him and he stared at the floor.
"What did he tell you, Raul?" I asked him again, standing up so he could see me.
When he didn't, I held his face with both my hands and forced him to look at me.
"If this does any good, let it. But I want you to know that I am not interested in the crown. You or Adi can have it once you both sit down and decide it. We all need to heal if we want to look like one family once again, Raul. But for that, I want to know everything before I make a decision. So tell me what exactly did Silas tell you?" I asked Raul and he shrugged his shoulders.
"He told me that I wasn't fit to be a King," Raul said and I raised my eyebrow at him.
"What are you talking about?" I asked him back.
"Do you even know what came in my reports that made our parents take a step back from me? Why didn't they want me to take the crown even when I was so qualified for that after Adi?" Raul asked me and I shook my head.
Well, Adi gave me a brief that his medical reports came in and they didn't look good. But that's what we do very often so I didn't think it was that serious.
But judging how it still makes Raul trigger, I wonder what that is.
"You should know about that first. You'll know why I am getting triggered. But one thing is for sure, Yasmyn. I saw Silas that day. Not Vernon. I will swear on this till the grave," Raul said, as he sat on his bed with a frown on his face.
There are still so many things I need to know. But Adi is the one who can help me with this. If it wasn't for the food poisoning, Adi would have been the King by now and I wouldn't have gone through half the s**t I've been through in the last few weeks.
"Rest for now, brother. We'll talk about it tomorrow," I told him and locked the door again on my way out.
He saw Silas. And I saw Vernon. But everyone else also saw Vernon. So how did only Raul see Silas?
Why is everything now centered against Silas now? What is he hiding and who the heck is he?
Just when I thought I could call it a day, the guards bowed to me before they broke the news.
Natalie went missing.
