As Warren arrived my heart dropped from my chest. I knew I was making the right choice for Lily but it broke every fiber of my being. I had to keep saying to myself it's not forever over and over. Dr Manning came in and notified me that Dr Blake Black was going to be visiting me tomorrow morning first thing. I heard the words he was saying but they muffled like background noise as Warren came in. Dr Manning and Eva left as Warren came over to me and hugged me. Tears streaming down my face he whispered "your going to be okay... Everything is going to be okay" as he wiped the tears steaming down my cheeks. Lily stirred as my chest rapidly rose and fell my body shuddering from the sobs I was trying to hold back. I rapidly wiped my tears and smiled down at her. "Hey baby girl" I said with overly enthusiastic cheer as she blinked her eyes open. "Guess what?" She peered at me and wrinkled her nose. "What mummy?" She mumbled still groggy.

"Uncle Warren said that you two can have a sleepover for a couple of days" Lily woke up fully and bounced "really mummy?" She squealed excitedly. "Yes baby" I said smiling at her as she finally noticed Warren sat at the end of the bed and lunged to jump on him and cuddle him. He messed her hair and said in a goofy voice "are you going to be a good girl for me?"

"Yes!" She squealed again excited that she gets to have fun with her uncle.

"Okay well give mummy a big hug and kiss and we'll get ready to go" Warren gushed excitedly at her.

She jumped on me and squeezed me as hard as she could and kissed me as Warren grabbed her bag I plastered a fake beaming smile as I hugged Lily back and kissed her back on her cheek and said "now remember be good for uncle Warren please" as she hopped off the bed holding onto Warren's hand as they waved goodbye I waved back and as the door closed behind them the tears I'd held back flooded me I pulled my blanket over me and let my tears take me into a deep sleep. Images of my daughter leaving on replay in my mind.

The following morning I woke feeling empty inside. The hum and beeping of the machines now all to familiar surrounding me. As I sat up Dr Manning came into my room my eyes still puffy from crying in my sleep. He looked at me with pity and compassion. As he read over my notes he started talking to me but his words fell on deaf ears. The last thing he said I heard clearly " Dr Black will be with you shortly" I nodded and he left as I was getting my shake out of the mini fridge. As I began to sip my shake I called Warren. "How was Lily last night?" I rushed my words the second he answered "she was fine Cassie don't worry I just dropped her in school and the teachers have sent their prayers for you" I could hear his eye roll as obvious as my own and I chuckled "thanks Warren" I said as he hung up. Dr Black entered my room as I was finishing my shake. "Hello Cassie, how are you feeling today?"

I looked up at him as I inwardly groaned here we go. "I'm missing my daughter and want to go home but other than that I guess I'm fine?"
