The days had began to blend together as the routine kicked in. With Eva and Jez spending more time together doing Dr Manning's plan of getting Jez to eat at meal times my weight was inching ever closer to the goal so I could leave and go home to my baby girl finally. Jez was loving getting to be released at lunch and dinner times with Eva to eat out. They chose different places to try and I was happy because even though Jez had a huge appetite they was walking and engaging in their own activities so as not to make me unhealthy I know my aim was to put on the weight but it still broke me having to push for it. It took every fibre of my being to let this happen and not go back into old habits, Jez knew this. When ever the urge to force myself to be sick came over me Jez jumped in stopping me. I was glad. Friday came and it was time to see if our efforts were in vain. I stepped on the scales and tears came to my eyes. The first time the scales told me I was 8 stone 2 pounds. I was now 8 stone 10 pounds. I could finally go home. But the shock was too much I still couldn't believe it. They had shown me and proved it time and time again but I was still stuck in disbelief. Dr Manning smiled at me and Eva was happy although her eyes were tinged in sadness. She comforted me reminding me that it was a good thing. That I was getting better.
Lily was due to be coming out of school in 3 hours I was excited to go pick her up. But I still had to wait to be officially discharged. As they done the paperwork I sat on the bed lost in thought as Eva came and cuddled up to me. Jez emerged and kissed Eva. As tears came to her eyes Jez held her chin up and said "this isn't goodbye I'll come see you at every chance I get and you can come to mine too" as she kissed her once again. Eva perked up and Jez wiped away Eva's tears. "I'm glad your better but I wish you could stay" whispered Eva more to herself. Eva had told Jez the night before that most of her relationships end because of her work schedule. As they waited they looked at their calendars and worked it out so they could still see each other. The discharge nurse came in with the papers to set me free and Jez took them. After she left Jez turned and kissed Eva and whispered in her ear "I'll see you Friday night after work, I'll arrange our first proper date and you can stay the night" kissing her goodbye once more Jez retreated onto her lounger leaving me to be the one to grab my bags and walk away.
