Zach heard the door hit the adjacent wall and giggles echo as the girls piled in. They traversed the stairwell like a herd of stampeding elephants, no doubt eager to see the dress. He held the designer gown away from himself, a shield to ward off the girls as they filled the hallway outside his room.   “Oh my god, it’s so beautiful,” Adrienne cooed. She took the dress and pressed it against her form, pinching it in at the waist. The others admired the dress, forcing humility and goodwill into eyes that hid the seeds of jealousy. Outwardly they wished to show happiness for their friend’s good fortune, though deep down they all wanted the dress for themselves.   “I wish it was mine,” Raven whined, pushing out her bottom lip. The other girls nodded, mimicking Raven’s sad face.   ‘I gue
