The rescue.

453 Words
A sense of safety enveloped Althea as she sensed the proximity of her mate. She could finally breathe. She struggled harder against her restraints. Her newfound zeal alerted the witch. She could sense that something was wrong. Syrius was on a mission. His mission was to eradicate this witch as she had already caused too much trouble for both the humans and the paranormal world equally.  He froze when he felt the sweat drip off his forehead and his heartbeat erratically. But vampires don’t nor does their heartbeat unless their mate is nearby. At this thought, thousands of emotions rushed through his body.  His friends urged him to move forward when they saw him motionless. However, upon closer inspection, their eyes widen as they saw the sweat dripping off him. They were both elated and worried. They moved faster than they ever did to rescue his mate.   Althea was struggling to not give in to the poison while Syrius trying his best to intercept the witch's wicked plans. At last, they arrived, and the seven of them surrounded her cottage. The fear of Althea was palpable in the air, which saddened Syrius’ heart and made him more vengeful against the witch. On the count of three, they all attacked the witch, rendering her powerless against seven mighty pureblood vampires. Althea was drifting in and out of unconsciousness when she felt the stiff arm of her mate embrace her. Syrius bent down to hug her mate. He wanted to make sure she was all right. Althea let herself fall asleep on the arm of a stranger that felt like her own. Syrius rushed Althea to the nearest witch-doctor.  Amelia, the witch-doctor and Syrius’s best-friend, told them " She will be fine, but believe that she won’t regain her consciousness soon. However, there’s something weird about her, all the injuries that she had healed by themselves and the medicines we gave her, which is supposed to take around one hour to start its work, started working immediately, at this rate I can’t say for sure.” She paused and then added, “Erebus, do you mind talking to me in private, please? I have something very important to tell you.” They all left the room except Syrius. She went on, " I don’t know how to say this but… she has gold blood… I never saw a case like this in my entire existence.” Syrius never heard of a case like this in his entire hundred and fifty years of existence. He was perplexed because he only heard that only the greek god and goddess possessed the golden blood. He took her home and kept thinking about this whole gold blood thing, but he never formed plausible reasoning. He decided that he will just ask her when she is up.
