CHAPTER 2  ROSSALIND'S POV I was on my own, going for a walk as instructed by my therapist. Ever since my powers grew stronger my father thought I was going through trauma, so he got me a therapist to help. Not knowing that the real reasons by my pain was actually my powers. I was walking on a pathway around a nearby park. No one was there besides a few parents and their children playing. And that's when it happened. My eyes felt like they were burning, and my hands felt like they were on fire as a light shown through them. I grew a strong head ache that I couldn't bare anymore, I felt so weak. So confused and scared, I even tried to cry for help but it was like my voice was stolen from me. All I could do was sit there in pain until it went away. *********** "Until what went away? I'm sorry but to elaborate we must have full details or your life story could just be, a story." The detective explained as he had he's pen ready for what I was about to say. "Until my powers could be controlled. At this moment they weren't, so my powers grew untamed and reckless." "I see." The detective mumbled as he started scribbling down on he's paper. "Carry on." He spoke up after a few minutes of writing in quiet. ********* When that stage was gone, and I knew how to control them better, but not fully. I started practising, I read every book about time travel in all the city libraries, then I started to practice on my own when my father went out of town for work. I tried everything I could to destroy my powers. I thought that if I knew their strength then I could switch it and find their weakness easily. And then when I do I could destroy these powers that hurt me, that made me feel like a monster. But one night I time travelled with the thought of the young boy I met before. I thought if I had him in my mind when I did it that I'll be able to see him, but I was wrong. Instead I was found in a castle, one that looked old and elegant. I looked around and I saw a throne on top of a few stairs. I was confused but intrigued. I wanted to explore, to found out why my powers took me to that place. So, I did. I got up and walked around looking for anyone I can ask for help, so that I at least knew where I was. What I had to face. "You're-" The young servant spoke hesitantly as he took a few steps back. She looked in a daze as her eyes went wide as if seeing a ghost. "Help! Help!" The servant girl ran away screaming as my guard went up on alert. I was panicking, I knew I had to leave before I was taken away. I turned on my heel and ran for it, but I didn't know the castle at all. I was lost and scared as I tried to run. But that's when guards stopped me, surrounding me from in front and behind. But what caught my attention was the old man with the red coat on, as a gold crown sat on he's head. I took a hint and thought that must of been the King. "Please, let me go. I didn't mean to intrude." I spoke with as much bravery as I could, even though my words came out shaky and full of fear. "Queen Sophia, why have you come into my castle?" The King asked with an amused smile. "And why have you used witch craft to make yourself young, or is that the cost of coming back to life?"  My eyes went wide as my hands felt sweaty, I had no clue what he was saying. All I could do was defend myself and tell him I'm not who he thinks I am. "Please, my name isn't Sophia. And I'm not from here, I just want to go home." I cried out in fear, but he's amused eyes turned cold as he gritted he's teeth at me. "You dare call me a liar! I may be your husband but that won't stop me from killing you again. Just this time there won't be any baggage around your stomach when I kill you." He laughed a cold chilling laugh, one that made the other guards laugh along side with him. "Kill her." Was all he ordered as he turned away, but I tried to defend myself. I tried to tell him I wasn't Sophia, that I was Rossalind.  But before I could try and defend myself once more to this arrogant King, I felt myself time jump. Only to fall on my knees in the field from before. I turned to see the white cottage still sat in the same place as I saw it before. I was back. I quickly got to my feet as I ran through the fields towards the cottage. I ran up the deck and started knocking furiously on the door. If I wanted to return home I needed the help from the young boy again. I needed he's help before the King tries and searches for me, seeing I don't know if I time jumped from an hour or a century.  "Coming!" I heard a young man call out as he then opened the door as he looked shocked. He then composed himself as he yanked me by my forearm and dragged me inside. "What are you doing here, Rosa?" The young man gritted out, but from he's light green eyes, and same features as before. I knew this man was the young boy from before. "You're the boy." I said absentmindedly. He only sighed heavily as he sat down at the table, while I did the same. "You shouldn't have come, it's too soon for you to return." He explained as he placed a glass of water in front of me. "Drink."  I took a sip like he said but then turned my gaze to him. "You said that to me before, you said I shouldn't of come. But I don't know anything, I'm so confused!" I cried out as a tear strand left me, but I wiped it away quickly as frustration took over me. "Your mother told me to protect you and your siblings, that you shall never return and reunite as one until she knew it was safe." He explained as he looked over at me with worry. "My mom? But she died, and I don't have siblings only my father. Everything doesn't make sense." I replied in desperation feeling all these emotions come to me. "Your mother was to be the strongest in all the lands, that was the prophecy, that she will be a leader. But not because of herself alone will she be great from the prophecy, but because she was the only one who could give power by conceiving her promised children." He then sighed as he rubbed he's temples. "She was promised 4 children of power. Her first child shall manipulate anyone's mind to their own doings. Her second child shall be the strongest, that her child shall hold the strength of a thousand men. Her third child shall be wise, her child shall know the answer before the question is asked. And her fourth child shall manipulate time. But her fourth child shall be the most powerful of all. That anyone who heard the name shall shake with fear." He then looked over at me and gave me a sad smile. "You're the fourth child, Rosa."
