Chapter Six

Alpha Bradley

My beta links me to Basement NOW. I ask for the directions to the basement and Alpha Michael shows me the way.

I head down the stairs when the smell of blood, vanilla and lavender hits me.

I see Luke kneeling beside a young woman on the floor covered in bruises and blood.

I reached her and turned to look at the alpha.

WHO did this to her?

The alpha stutters and says he doesn't know.

That horrible daughter of his steps out from behind him and proudly announces she did. She's a nobody and isn't worth a damn anyway. I let out a growl that made her pale and retreat as fast as possible. The only thought I had was to take my mate to the hospital.

I pick her up as gently as possible, hearing her struggle to breathe. I raced up the stairs and to the clinic. As I rush in, the dr is waiting and I place her on the bed. The driver tells everyone they need to leave and I refuse. The doctor states she needs to be prepped for surgery and we have to hurry. The doctor reluctantly leaves.

Bane was growling, wanting to surface and destroy the alpha's daughter for what she had done to our mate. It took everything I had to keep him under control.

"I will destroy the evil brat, she will pay for what she has done to our mate." Bane stated, growling and pacing in my head.

I know I know she will pay, but right now we have to be here with our mate until she wakes up. We need her to wake up.

As I am pacing the lobby and looking at Luke. I mind link him to let the guards know that they are to stand guard and no one is to see his mate for any reason. Unless it was the dr or himself. The days blurred together waiting for no sign of anything except for the beeping of the machines that showed she was breathing. A week had past and I was scared she would not wake up. The doctor stated that she is fully healed and that she should be awake and to just give it time.

I feel movement in my hands as I hold hers. Oh my god, she's waking up. I yelled for the dr to come. She was wake.

I wait and then I hear her grave voice say mate, my heart races and I am right there to see her and hold onto her. She's shy and nervous and I want to know why she is this way. I want to know everything about her.

Luke

While I was searching the house, I watched Alpha's daughter come up from the basement with an evil grin on her face. This bothered me, seeing how she had thrown herself at my alpha. I went to the stairs and went down. It was going to be bad. I could smell blood. As i get to the bottom of the stairs I see a very young wolf and she is barely breathing and has blood coming out of her mouth. I link with my alpha. He comes and the word that startles me is Mate. She is his mate. Oh, this is gonna be bad.

Seeing Bradley pace back and forth was worrisome; he had never behaved like that.

Knowing how he himself was when he met his mate, he could only imagine the pain his friend was going through.

Alpha Michael

After finding Nina in the basement and the alpha taking off with her, I knew we were in trouble. Linda is pacing my office,

How is she his mate? This is such bulls*t Linda screamed.

We have bigger problems than her being his mate. Alpha, Michael stated.

His wife and son were both standing there. What is the bigger problem? Asked marcus and

We need him to ensure our safety from the rogues, stated alpha Michael.

Sarah, realizing the situation could become very bad, tries to comfort her husband and all it seemed to do is anger him.

Michael growls, this is going to make it so that we may not get the help we need to maintain our pack. What do we do if they decide to retaliate against us?

Linda just sits there fuming that she isn't his mate and that the worthless slave is his mate. Goddess, why are you so mean? Why can't I have a mate?

Marcus states that we just have to wait and see if she wakes up.

Alpha Michael looks at him with irritation and annoyance. Wait til she wakes up. What the hell is wrong with you? If she doesn't wake up, we will all die.

Bradley

Having her wake up was one of the sweetest feelings, my heart pounding and racing. The beauty in her face was something that could only be described and majestic. Her platinum hair, and the most beautiful blue eyes were just a beauty that would compare to a goddess. I sit with her in the room while the Doctor looked over her and gave her the all clear to leave.

She bowed her head and mumbled thank you.

She gets dressed in the small bathroom in the room and I wait patiently for her to finish and come out.

I ask her if she is ready to go and she just nods.

We walked out of the hospital in silence. As soon as we get outside, I ask her what happened and she stops in her tracks, looking at her feet and says nothing. I asked her to look at me and tell me what was happening. She slowly raises her head and looks at me with nervous, scared eyes that say more than anything. The amount of fear in her eyes says it is something I'm really not going to like here.

I just stare at her and she starts to move nervously, looking everywhere but at me. This hurts my heart and I hear Bane whimper because she is so nervous and scared of us. I tell Bane to be patient and she will let us in. We just have to show her that she has nothing to fear from us.

We need to deal with the rest of the family. Bane growled. Our mate is scared and her wolf is worried. You are talking to her wolf, Bane. Yes, she is worried that if she doesn't leave her she will be killed.

This bothers me very much. Why would her wolf be worried like that? What the hell is going on around her? We need to know.

I looked at her and said, Nina love, you can talk to me when you are ready. Right now, let's get you to the house where you can rest.

She looks at me and nods. We continued walking to the house.

As we reached the door, we walked in and she headed to the kitchen and I grabbed her hand and asked her where she was going.

To my room? Why?

Oh no, you are going to rest in my room that way. I know that no one is going to bother you.

oh I see. That is all she says.

She then follows him to his room.

They walk past the alpha and his kids. Linda glares at her but says nothing.

When they get to the alpha's room, he helps her into bed and tells her that he will be back. He has some business with the alpha and there will be a guard at the door.

She doesn't say anything, just crawls into the warm soft bed and snuggles under the blanket.

I watch her and feel the heaviness in my heart knowing I have to leave her to go deal with the alpha business.

Sadness overcomes me because of how nervous and withdrawn my mate is.
