Cedric didn't seem to understand her question, "You don't like my gift?"
Mira said in a low voice, "You know what I'm talking about!"
Cedric spoke slowly with an undertone of warning, "Are you questioning me?"
Hearing this, Mira was silent for a moment. She almost let the anger go to her head and forgot their deal. Cedric was the one in charge, and she had to obey Cedric no matter what he wanted to do.
"...I'm sorry," Mira said stiffly.
Her apology pleased Cedric, and he said softly, "Don't be so serious. I mean, you should come and see Jimmy after work. He seems to want to show you his building blocks."
Before Mira could speak, Cedric continued, "Don't forget the contract." And then he hung up the phone.
——
Mira had no clients this morning, so she went to the hospital during her lunch break.
She followed Cedric to the children's playroom. Through the glass, she saw many toys in the playroom. Sitting in the middle were a trampoline and a seesaw. More than a dozen children were playing in the room, including Jimmy, who was building blocks with other kids and was rather delighted.
"Jimmy!" Mira called from the door.
When Jimmy saw her, he ran over immediately and pointed at the building blocks on the table, crying, "Mira, look at this! I built this little house! I'll buy you a house like this in the future!"
Mira was amused by his innocent look. She could tell that Jimmy was rather happy, and she planted a kiss on Jimmy's forehead, "Thank you, Jimmy."
Jimmy's new friends started urging Jimmy to come over. Mira patted him on his back, "Go! Your friends are waiting for you."
Jimmy smiled at her and ran quickly back to the crowd.
"Now we can talk about the contract," Cedric's cold voice interrupted.

After they went to Cedric's office, Mira took the contract out of her bag. She hadn't had time to read it until now. But when she scanned through the contract, she was confused and stunned, "What the hell is this?!"
Cedric started dealing with his work once he sat down at his desk. It seemed that he didn't want to waste his time with Mira, and he said briefly, "It's not your place to negotiate with me. Don't you know?"
Before Mira said anything, Zoe said, "We seem to have fallen into another trap."
Mira sighed wearily, "But Zoe, I can't go back to Allen again."
Zoe didn't disagree, "I understand. I'm always on your side, Mira."
Mira was encouraged by Zoe's promise, and she quickly signed her name on the paper.
Picking up the contract, Cedric tapped her signature with his index finger and said, "You have good handwriting."
Mira rolled her eyes inwardly. She didn't want to stay here any longer, so she turned around and left.
"Get back," Cedric ordered coldly. "I didn't say you could leave."
Mira held back her impatience because she knew that she had no choice. She walked back to Cedric again with a bright yet fake smile, "Yes, my sugar daddy, what can I do for you?"
Cedric wrapped his arms around her waist, forcing her to sit on his lap. Mira, of course, struggled slightly, and then she heard Cedric say, "Kiss me."
"Here? Now?! Are you crazy?" Mira's eyes widened. Was this man insane?
But Cedric said, "Section 28 of the Agreement."
Mira instantly understood what he meant. Was this man born a businessman?
"Fine! I'm fulfilling my obligation now!"
Seeing Cedric's smiling eyes, she cupped his face and kissed him in a fit of pique! She kissed him hard, without any skill, sucking his lips as if she was venting her anger.
However, Cedric was still turned on by her wild kiss. The lust glinted in his eyes, and Mira, who seemed outwardly docile, acted like a little wild cat with sharp claws in his arms. Mira's kiss and bite made him feel pain and excitement. He grasped Mira's waist and pulled her into his arms.
They stirred each other's mouths with tongues. Mira immediately felt weak and let him do whatever he wanted. She wanted to push him away, but Cedric held her tightly. He was pleased when he heard Mira's moans.
Mira tried to muffle her groan but failed. Her cheeks got rosy when she felt she was wet.
Cedric reached into her clothes, trying to unbutton her bra. Suddenly, the door of the office was pushed open.
"Dr. Moore, the patient in ward six has an emergency... Ah!" Ava exclaimed, stunned! She saw Mira leaning against the desk, blushing and panting. More importantly, Mira's clothes were in disarray!
Mira was so ashamed that she wanted to bury her head in the sand. Although she struggled out of Cedric's arms in time, she knew Ava could guess what happened.
"I..." Mira wanted to say something, but Cedric interrupted her calmly, "Knock on the door first next time you want to come in, Ava. You have interrupted me to give Miss Baker a second test."
Perhaps people kept up the idea in their head that he was perfect and gentle Cedric, so Ava had no doubts at all and she even apologized, "I'm sorry! I didn't know you were having a second test!"
Mira forced a smile, covering her swollen lips with a lock of her hair, "It's okay."
Cedric tidied up Mira's clothes and said, "Sorry, emergency. I have to go to check my patients. Please wait here till l get back."
"I see, Dr. Moore. Go ahead!" Mira gave him a big smile and said.
"Wait here my ass!" Mira cursed in her heart. She wouldn't stay here and wait for that "pervert doctor"! As soon as Cedric left, she quickly left the hospital.
——
When Mira arrived at the company, the lunch break was just over.
Rudy stood at the door and looked at her coldly, "Where have you been? How dare you leave without my permission during working hours?"
Mira panted and retorted, "I just went to deal with some things during the lunch break. What's wrong with that?"
The employees in the room also heard them argue and began to whisper.
"Rudy is so strict. After all, Mira came back in time for work. She was not late at all."
"Didn't you notice? Rudy is targeting Mira."
"Enough. Don't speak for Mira, or you will be targeted as well!"
Rudy felt embarrassed by the others' attitude, and she looked sterner as she scolded, "This is how you talk to your boss?! How could you serve our clients with such a bad temper? I need to make sure you get experience before you start work!"
Hearing this, Mira instantly had a bad feeling, and then she heard Rudy arrogantly order, "Mr. Smith is going to hold a party the day after tomorrow in Blue Lake Villa, and he's a bit short-handed. You are going to work there as a temporary servant!"
As soon as Rudy finished speaking, Mira heard the sharp intake of breath from the crowd. She also noticed that many of her colleagues had frightened expressions.
Rudy raised her voice and continued, "Listen, you people! Don't be unruly like Mira! You have to face consequences if you dare to contradict your boss!" Her warning immediately silenced everyone.
After that, Rudy walked away in high heels, and everyone eyed Mira pityingly.
"Mira," Betty gave her a worried look and pulled her to the corner, "You should go to apologize to Rudy! You don't want to go to Smith's place!"
"Don't worry. I know what to do. I have experience," Mira said.
Betty lowered her voice and said, "I've heard that Mr. Smith is a difficult man. He is especially cruel to his servants. Last time, a girl was whipped by him when she worked in his place. And she resigned after she came back... "
When Mira was with Allen, she learned that the rich always had some fetishes. She guessed about what might happen and prayed that it wouldn't actually happen.
"Maybe we should listen to Betty and apologize to Rudy," Zoe suggested.
Mira sighed, "I've already offended Rudy. An apology won't be helpful. Forget it. We have to play it by ear."
"Thank you for telling me, Betty," Mira patted Betty on the shoulder with a smile.
——
On the day when Mira had to go to the Blue Lake Villa, she was ordered to fall in in the company's hall.
When Mira arrived, Sally Perry in a skirt suit set was speaking on stage. She said coldly, "All of you have to be smart when you get to the Blue Lake Villa. If you offend Mr. Smith and make him go ballistic, I will not be able to save you as well!"
Sally was one of Rudy's friends, and they were very alike. Sally would lead the team to the villa this time. Her brown hair was meticulously up in a bun and her sharp gray eyes swept across the crowd, until they fixed on Mira, "Especially you, Miss Baker. Rudy told me that I should keep an eye on you!"
Mira already knew that things wouldn't go well this time, but she had to reply, "I know what to do, Mrs. Perry."
Soon, Mira and her colleagues boarded the bus, and half an hour later, they arrived at the Blue Lake Villa, a gothic and lavish villa. As soon as they got out of the bus, Mira's colleagues all marveled at the building they saw.
"Wow! It's so amazing! Is this where rich people live?"
"If only I could live here too! I'd like to work here for the rest of my life!"
"You wish. Do you think anyone can work here?"
Mira turned to look at the scenery outside, but somehow, the view was weirdly familiar to her...
As if she had been here not long ago.
