His Terms; Her Heart

A Dinner

Adrian stared confusedly at Chloe as she tightly held her stomach without knowing what to do. Chloe, on the other hand, stared at Adrian as she couldn't bring herself to let anyone know that she was just having her period.

"You need to see the doctor, Chloe," Adrian said, getting up from the bed as he moved to where he had earlier placed his phone.

"There won't be any need for that. I think it's my period, and I...... don't think I brought a sanitary pad with me," Chloe said slowly as she stared at the bed in shame.

Chloe wished she could take back her words or allow the ground to open up and swallow her as Adrian kept mute immediately when she stopped talking.

A few seconds later, Adrian broke off the silence that had enveloped them.

"Is that all?" Adrian asked.

"Yes," Chloe replied, nodding her head.

"I will be back in a few minutes," Adrian said as he immediately dashed out of Chloe's room.

Immediately, Chloe sensed that Adrian was out of her room; she raised her head and stared around before dragging herself into the bathroom to clean herself up.

Chloe patiently sat in the bathtub, waiting for one of the maids to bring her the sanitary pad she requested for.

A few minutes later, she heard a knock on her bathroom and happily thought it was one of the maids because she would be too embarrassed to face Adrian, but alas, the voice that came up was unexpected.

"Can I open the door?" Adrian said, holding the bathroom door, which took Chloe off balance, and she became more embarrassed.

"No, don't open the door," Chloe half-yelled, holding the door with her weak body.

Firstly, she was unhappy to see Adrian in her room, and then her period came up all of a sudden. Now, allowing Adrian into the bathtub and setting her eyes on him would make her go crazy.

She tightened her short towel around her chest before she stood up and opened the door a little to collect the sanitary pad from Adrian.

Chloe closed the door to check how many sanitary pads Adrian had bought for her since she felt it must be more than two. Chloe opened the packs of sanitary pads only to see different sizes in there. She looked surprised at how he got different sizes.

Adrian Blake might be the ruthless and no-nonsense billionaire to everyone outside the world, but he still had a heart of kindness towards those around him.

While Chloe was trying to go through the sanitary pads to check how many Adrian had bought, everything fell on the floor including the menstrual pain relief he had bought alongside. Chloe smiled as she stared at everything on the floor including the different sizes of pads and different brands of pain reliefs.

Chloe finished cleaning herself up in a few minutes, used the pain relief Adrian got for her, and dragged herself closer to her bed to have a peaceful night's's rest.

The next morning, Chloe woke up towards noon due to the menstrual cramps she had overnight. She cleaned herself up for the morning, went downstairs, and saw Adrian still having his breakfast just as she was about to climb down the stairs.

“Stop staring at me and come over to the dining table,” Adrian said with his authoritative voice. Immediately, he noticed Chloe's presence at the stairs.

Immediately Chloe heard Adrian’s voice, she ran back to her room not wanting to face Adrian due to what happened while they were about to make out last night.

Chloe laid on her bed and began blushing as she remembered how Adrian handed a box of sanitary pad to her with different sizes.

The fact that Adrian had seen her naked body and had witnessed her period made her more embarrassed to join him in the dining. Chloe waited back in her room for an hour making sure Adrian had left the dining before she gently opened the door and made the way to the living room.

By the time she checked for Adrian’s car through the window, he had already left for work.

“Good morning, Ma’am. Your food is at the dining table,” a maid said.

“Thank you,” Chloe said as she walked alongside the maid towards the dining table.

“Ma’am, you are so lucky to have a man like Mr. Adrian Blake as your husband,” the maid started as she poured a cup of juice for Chloe.

“How do you mean?” Chloe asked.

“Imagine, he told me to take him down to where they sell sanitary pads yesterday and that he wanted to get a few for you. I tried persuading him to send one of the bodyguards with me, but he insisted on getting them on his own.

Isn’t that awesome? You have a caring and handsome husband,” the maid said as she finished serving Chloe her food.

As if like a lost memory being recovered, Chloe remembered that the make-up artist from the previous day had said same thing to her.

What shocked Chloe most was when the maid had told her that Adrian got the sanitary pads himself.

“Now, I see reasons he got different sizes of sanitary pads,” Chloe thought smirking.

“Thanks for informing me,” Chloe said, smiling as the maid walked out to continue her chores.

As Chloe finished up her meal and was walking upstairs, she thought of a way she could thank Adrian for his kind gesture as she made way in the library.

Chloe finished up the story she started yesterday, checked the time and realized it was almost evening and Adrian will be back from work anytime. She freshened up and walked into the kitchen.

“Can you all please excuse me? I want to cook for my husband,” Chloe said, walking in.

“We are sorry ma’am; we can’t allow that. We have been employed to cook and serve every of your needs. If we allow you come into the kitchen to cook, we might be relieved of our jobs because Mr. Adrian might think we are not doing well at our jobs,” one of the maids who looked the oldest said as she bowed her head.

“Well, if you all refuse me to cook, I will make sure you pick up your sack letters from the police custody tomorrow morning,” Chloe said, folding her arms across her chest and resting on the door like she meant every word she said.

The maids all stared at themselves in confusion not knowing what to do.

“I will take the stare as a yes,” Chloe said, smiling like someone who had just won a trophy.

”Yes ma’am, but we will be around the kitchen in case you need anything,”
