A New Opportunity

Chloe smiled in satisfaction as she nodded her head looking around. She looked towards the marble table and saw different ingredients gently placed on the table. The kitchen was neatly arranged and the surroundings were sparkling clean.

Chloe made sure all the maids did was pass the ingredients to her as she cooked. When one of the oldest maids tried helping her, she shushed her away and warned her not to step forward again.

About an hour and thirty minutes later, a different sweet aroma filled the kitchen as Chloe finalized her cooking. Chloe wouldn’t have been a good cook if not for Aunty Celine, who stood by her and made sure she learned everything right, from cleaning the house down to the point of making different dishes.

Nathaniel wasn’t left out even though he only got to learn when he was home for the break since he spent almost all his life in boarding school.

When Chloe finished, she began serving the dishes so she could rush upstairs to freshen up and come downstairs to join Adrian. Just as she was about to take a step up the stairs, she a car horn and instantly guessed it was Adrian who had come back.

Chloe decided to stay back and welcome Adrian. A security guard opened the door revealing Adrian Blake looking all handsome even though he was tired.

“Welcome home, Mr. Adrian. I prepared your dinner and I hope you enjoy it,” Chloe said, smiling.

Adrian stared at Chloe and back to the food like it was some piece of s**t that had just been placed on his table. He shook his head and turned to stare at Chloe again.

“This isn’t the reason I married you, Chloe. I married you so you could bore me a son and not act around the house like my wife,” Adrian said, angrily staring at Chloe.

Adrian’s words broke Chloe’s heart as she stared at the floor. She had worked very hard to make the special meal for him in appreciation for what he did and all he did was embarrass and make it known to everyone standing why he married her.

Adrian didn’t feel remorseful for any of his words as he stared at the faces of the maids.

“I hope you know your place already, and I don’t need to remind you of that again,” Adrian said, turning to stare at the food one last time before turning toward his bodyguards.

“Throw this food out for the dogs, the smell is really irritating,” Adrian said.

Tears welled up in Chloe’s eyes as she stared at her efforts being given to the dogs.

“It would have been much better if he had just ignored the food and gone upstairs; that would have been much better,” Chloe muttered as she stared at where she had injured herself while cooking.

All the efforts she put into cooking the delicious meal for Adrian has been wasted now. All the maids standing around pitied her as tears were planning to fall from her eyes.

“Ma’am, should I cook you a bowl of hot soup to calm down your nerves?” one of the maids said approaching Chloe as she attempted to comfort her.

“I’m fine, thank you,” Chloe said, faking a smile and not wanting anyone to pity her.

Chloe stared at the dining table. She had arranged the meal previously one last time before walking quietly back to her room. The instant Chloe shut her, she allowed the tears she had been holding back to flow freely as she sat on the floor, resting her back on the floor.

Is this how ruthless Adrian Blake is, to have even thought of embarrassing Chloe in front of his domestic staff?

A lot of questions were going through her mind, she shrugged it off a few minutes later as she cleaned off the tears and dragged herself to the bed.

Chloe thought she needed to get herself busy with something now that she was down as she picked up her iPad. She opened her iPad and started searching for companies that were hiring models at the moment.

After a long search, she finally found a suitable company that was hiring. Being a model was something Chloe inherited from her body before she died and she had been using her clothes to practice. Chloe had the shape and body to become a model.

She forwarded her resume to the company, hoping she would get accepted because she hadn’t been able to get another modeling job after the former company she was working for got busted for involving in illegal dealings and also using ladies to traffic drugs.

Chloe placed her iPad beside her pillow as she picked up her laptop and checked if she had any messages. Luckily, she had none waiting for her, so she just closed down the laptop, went to shower for the night, and drifted to sleep immediately after she laid her head on the pillow.

In Sebastian’s office, just as he was about to pack up his things and head downstairs, his assistant, Lucas walked in with a few files gently placed on his arm.

“Sir, before you go home. A lady just sent her application letter. She wants to work as a model for this company, but we’ve already hired the best yesterday,” Lucas said.

Sebastian Vincent is the CEO of Moon and Stars modeling company, the second-most-rated company in the whole of Mexico. Moon and Stars company has been wanting to employ the best model to work for them, and they had just employed someone who they saw deemed fit to their expectation the previous day before Chloe sent her application.

“Let me check it out,” Sebastian said.

Lucas handed the company’s laptop to Sebastian as he checked out who had just applied to be a model in their company. Sebastian was shocked to see that the lady he had helped stand on her feet at the event he went to was the one who had just applied.

Sebastian couldn’t believe that the beautiful lady he had helped would end up working with. He smiled as he stared at her application one last time before handing it back to Lucas.

“Hire her immediately and tell her to resume her position next week,” Sebastian said as he had just been possessed by Chloe’s picture.

“How about the lady we employed yesterday and asked her to resume next week?” Lucas asked, surprised that his boss would suddenly change his mind by just staring at Chloe’s picture.

“Fire her that we no longer need her services. If she wants to make a fuss, choke her with a few dollars,”
