“Pregnant?“ I whispered to myself.
“We did a full body test on her complete with blood works, we discovered that you're two months gone.“
I stared at the doctor in disbelief.
"This must be a joke right?" I asked. "I can't be possibly pregnant." I doubted, holding my belly.
"That's what the result says madam." The doctor confirmed again. “We've checked twice.“
I didn't know how to react to the news for two reasons; I had faced several insults and mockery from Lewis family members and because of this Lewis had cheated on me with my best friend.
"You lied to me." I looked up at Gary, who seemed angry.
"No! I didn't lie. This is news to me, too." I was still trying to find the right words to describe how I felt.
"News to you? This is totally ridiculous. How are we going to go about it? I cannot raise a kid that's not mine in my house." He stated.
"First of all, I don't know what is happening because this news from the doctor sounds too good to be true. I have been hoping to get a child since the last two years of my marriage, but none. Secondly, if you want to leave, you can go. I had a life before you came and I will continue to without you.“ I snapped at him. I looked at Gary for a moment, there was no emotion in his handsome face. For some reason, I saw traces of Lewis in his features.
"I never said I wanted to be without you. I just didn't think I would be raising achild." He replied. "Our agreement stands. However I need you to understand that after a year, I won't have to be responsible for the kids need."
I understood what he meant and I didn't blame him. He was merely trying to help me still.
"What about the people? What would they say?" I asked.
"I am one of the most low profile men out there, you know this. There is nothing to worry about." He took my hands and squeezed them. I couldn't understand the type of feeling growing inside of me.
I can't suddenly be finding him attractive? I just came out of a traumatic marriage.
It took about an hour by the doctor to medically clear me through, after thorough examinations. As I stepped outside the ward, Gary was seated outside on his phone waiting. He got up the moment he saw me.
"Ensure she takes her medication please." The doctor said, leaving my wheelchair to Gary.
"She would definitely take her medications. You have nothing to worry about." They said their goodbyes and Gary helped me out of the hospital me.
The sun was slowly receding and the beauty of the evening was becoming visible. Gary ushered me into his black bentley.
As we moved through the busy road, my mind was analyzing the future of this agreement. I could only hope that along the line, he doesn't break things up.We arrived at his mansion, a gigantic property that seemed to dwarf the other mansions on the street.
He was rich and affluent for sure and he showed it off.
"Had to tell the neighbors to leave, because they were becoming a nuisance." He said as we drove into the parking spot.
As I was ushered into the living, I remembered I needed to pack my things from Lewis' house.
"You can have a seat while I go upstairs and get changed. The maids are in the kitchen and dinner will be served soon.“ I nodded and dropped to the couch, taking into account the beauty of the room.
I heard a phone buzz and realized Gary had dropped his phone on the table.I help picked it up, believing it was an important call so I did what I thought was best, find him. I stood at the top of the staircase cluelessly, not knowing where to turn.
I decided to knock on each of the room.
I finally heard a voice respond at the fifth room and I pushed the door open. All my breath left me in that moment.
"What's the matter?" He asked.
I couldn't concentrate. His body was built and the flower tattoo on his chest was just begging for the to touch.
"Uhmm...I...Your phone was ringing." I stuttered miserably. I couldn't get a hold of myself at this point.
"Oh about that..." He said, taking a step forward to get the phone from me but I stepped back. "What's the matter? Give me the phone." He demanded with outstretched hands.
"Do you mind putting on a shirt, please?" I squeaked turning my gaze while handing his device to him.
"Why are you acting like you haven't seen a half naked man before?" He enquired amusingly.
"Yes, I have seen better bodies than yours." I replied daringly. His ego was just so infuriating.
He took further steps forward and I instinctively moved back, not allowing him into my personal space. He didn't stop moving until I was between him and the wall.
Gary moved into my space, raising my chin up to stare into his mesmerizing eyes as they blinked and searched through mine.
He gently took my hand and placed them on his toned abs.
The air was slowly being snuffed out of me. He let my hand go but I didn't pull back from feeling him up. I couldn't think of a way to stop. My thoughts were going wild at that moment.
Slowly he leaned forward, his lips puckered and his eyes closed. I went along with my desire and met him halfway.
His lips were soft and I moved my hand round his entire muscular body, feeling every bit of it.
"I am not your ex-husband baby girl. I am your deepest and darkest desire, so don't compare me to him." He whispered in my ears and stepped back.
His eyes drank me in as I took deep breaths.
"Dinner should be ready, You should consider waiting for me downstairs.“ It was a clear dismissal but I stood rooted to the spot and watched as he opened his closet to find something to wear.
The next one year should be interesting.
