Luna's POV
I sighed depressingly and slowly walked towards the door. Still thinking of what to do next, I unbolted the door to behold the worried face of Daniel and Mark.
"Hi guys" I chuckled nervously with a wave.
"What is wrong with you Luna? Why are you acting weird?" Mark asked and walked into the room, pushing me aside.
They sucked in their breath, the moment they entered the room. I'm sure they were shocked at the awful sight of the broken glasses all over the floor.
"What the heck happened to my mirror" Mark shrieked.
"I..I.." I trailed off.
"You did this on purpose right? You did this to piss me off right?" He hoarsed.
"No.. no..it was a mistake." I finally found my voice.
"A mistake?" Daniel repeated.
"Yes. I was in the toilet when I heard you guys banging on the door. So I hurried out to get the door but unfortunately, I slipped and hit my hand on the mirror. I'm sorry." I narrated with a sad look.
Mark studied me for a moment, probably thinking if he could trust my words. "You're sorry? Is that supposed to get back my mirror. Do you know how much I got that?" He growled and charged angrily at me.
I quickly hid behind Daniel. Mark looked so angry and i understand how he feels right now, he is already poor as it is and can't even afford a proper meal -Talk more of getting a new mirror. But it's not really my fault, it's not like I purposely broke the mirror as he is accusing me of.
"What do you think you are doing brother? She just said it's a mistake and I expected you to pardon her. Who knows she might even be hurt but looks like you don't care" Daniel hoarsed.
Mark scoffed. " Firstly, I'm not your brother. And this is between the two of us, just stay out of it"
I held tightly unto Daniel's shirt. " Please help me Dan" I mumbled.
He brought out his phone and typed some words into it. " I just ordered a new better dressing mirror, it will be delivered soon. And for the mess, I will ask the maids to clean them up."
Aww. He looked so cute right now, more like a superman.
" Do you want to come with me?" He beckoned at me.
I nooded giving him a grin. He held my right hand and walked out. I followed him sheepishly, totally avoiding Mark's deadly glare.
Daniel's POV
As soon as we got downstairs, she quickly set her hand free from mine. "Thank you for coming to my aid"
"Oh. It's nothing" I waved it off. "Are you sure you are fine? Were you injured?"
"No. I am fine"
I beckoned unto one of the maids." Hey. Go up into Mark's room and clean up the mess there"
" Yes sir" She replied and scurried off.
I let out a deep sigh and turned to Luna. "Your boyfriend is so scary. How did you even managed to end up with him?"
She burst out laughing. "He isn't my boyfriend."
"Really? "
"Yeah. Before he became poor, Mark had asked me to be his guardian angel. Since I had already signed a one year contract with him, I had no choice than to stick with him" She shrugged.
This is a good news then. I just hope that annoying stepbrother of mine, feels the same way.
Mark sauntered downstairs and without saying a word to us, he walked away.
"Uh oh. Looks like your boss is really angry. You're definitely in for a long scolding tonight"
"Well, I don't care. I'm just happy he has gone out. At least, I have that big room to myself" She smirked. " Good bye then, see you later"
Before I could even stop her, she was already on her way up the stairs. She seemed fearless and tough, just the way I like my ladies. Not bad.
I chuckled and turned to go to my room but was shocked to see mum staring at me with anger clearly written on her face.
"Jeez. What was that mum? You scared me" I complained, trying to catch my breath.
"In my room now. We need to talk" She ignored my complaint, walking to her room.
I heaved a sigh and followed suit.
" What the hell do you think you are doing?" She half yelled as soon as we got into her room and closed the door.
" I.. I . Don't know what you are saying mum" I said, feigning ignorance.
" Oh stop acting as if you don't know what I am saying" she snapped. "I thought I told you that she is our enemy and should be treated as such?"
" Yes mum.. And that is exactly what I am doing"
"What do you mean? " Mum asked, confused.
" What can a man never tolerate in a relationship? "
She paused and after a brief silence. "A man can never tolerate seeing his woman with another man"
" And that is exactly what I am doing.. I will get so close to Luna in order to make Mark jealous. His jealousy will push him into ending things with her" I smirked.
"I.. I.. don't think it's a nice idea"
"It is mum.. Moreover, this is also a way for punishing Dave for taking away my position as the legitimate child of this family. I will take everything that belongs to him and that includes Luna" I said through gritted teeth and clenched fist.
" But what if you end up falling in love with that rude girl instead?. I don't trust that Luna even a bit"
"Fall in Love? " I scoffed. " Eww.Come on mum! She is not my type"
That sounded more like a lie to my ears.
Mum hesitated, probably thinking if my plan was going to work. " You have gotten more smarter than I thought" Mum finally said with a smirk.
" Of course. I take after you, after all" I winked and we burst out laughing.
