Her Future

Chapter Seventeen

It had taken a few days for October to recover, Dean hadnt left her side, not even when his bestfriend had begged him to. it was a day and a half before she had woken up and another day and a half when she started feeling good enough to go home. 

Once at the house Milly asked to stay with her for a few days, but still offered Dean to take a few days off while she manned the bar, saying she just wanted to be around family and to work. Both were granted for her. October knew something was up with her when she had found out that James had packed up what he needed from his house and moved to the town his son was at.

Dean had told her he was working to get custody of Jake and that he had gotten a lawyer but he had gotten one where she was at so he wouldnt have to pay so much, but what she didnt know was why he left Milly behind, she acted tuff and smiled when she was around people but October knew heartbreak when she seen it on another womans face. So two days after they had gotten home from the hospital she asked Dean to give them some time and maybe take a night at the bar, he had argued of course until she told him the way Milly was acting, to which he finally agreed.

That night he gave Milly the night off and told the women to have fun. Though he was worried about leaving her and his unborn child he knew she wanted to help her friend, the same way her friend had helped her, he caved giving her a kiss and went to work.

"Ok." October said after he walked out and she turned to her friend, "Spill" she said putting her hands on her hips.

Milly laughed, "You look rediculouse standing there like that with your small bump." she said.

October grinned but didnt move and didnt open her mouth she just raised one eye brow at her firend.

Milly sighed, " What do i need to spill about?" she asked.

October smiled and walked over to her friend and sat beside her on the couch. "What did he do Milly?" she asked her friend.

The softness of her voice had tears coming to her eyes, and with that she told her everything. She told her how he said he was leaving how she said she had loved him and how he ruined her by saying he didnt love her, she told her about how he hadnt said a word to her when he left but came by and told them good bye, gave them the keys to his house to keep track of everything for when he got back, he had just simply left and not told her about it not even given her the curtosy of saying good bye.

October was pretty upset over this, "You dont need him Milly, no man like that deserves a woman like you and when he comes back ill kick his ass for you." she said to her friend.

Milly laughed, "Thats if he comes back."

"I think he will." she replied, to which Milly just shrugged.

"Can we talk about something else?" she asked her firend.

October smiled. "I have a better idea lets do something else." she said.

Milly looked confused and asked, "Like what?"

October got up and grabbed her arm. "Lets go put the baby room together, i think the god momma should help." she said dragging her up the stairs.

Milly laughed and followed her friend, they spent the next several hours deciding how things should go, if they should paint the room, what kind of crib to get. Then decided to just go into town and get a few things. Along the way October had traded in her little car for an SUV, so she had more room for the baby which made it a great vehicle to haul the crib with, even though Dean would have to bring it in and set it up. They decided to settle on a soft blue for Wyatts bedroom and got some animal stickers and loonytoon stickers for his bedroom walls. 

When they had gotten everything they decided to go to the bar for dinner, instead of cooking. When they walked through the doors Dean hollered, "THERE ARE MY TWO FAVORITE WOMEN. AND MY LITTLE MAN IN THERE!" he said coming up to hug Milly, kiss October like he hadnt in years and then knelt down to kiss her belly, everyone in the bar erupted in applause making the girls blush and laugh.

"Dean, Wyatt, Milly and i are hungry." she told him giving him a hug and another kiss.

Dean smiled, "Right this way my queens, give me a bit and ill hop in the kitchen to make both your favorites with one chocolate shake for my boy and girl and one strawberry shake for my bestfriend and our god momma," he said so proudly. 

It seemed working helped his mood and he did just as he said bringing out pizza half with veggies and all meat for his woman and child and half spicey sausage for his friend. "Enjoy girls i have to make rounds." he said walking off.

"Oh my god this looks so good!" they both said at the same time laughing and attacking the pizza. After eating October was tired and wanted a hot bath so they said good byes being told the man would be home by 10 and they got into the SUV and went home.

Everything was so peaceful now, the threat had been taken care off, her and her growing boy were happy and healthy with the love of a man that never wavered, he had stuck to his word and showed her everyday how much he loved her and how much he regretted messing up. October had showed him everyday how much he was loved.

She worked and she came home and took care of the house, she had everything she ever wanted, except the love of her parents, who had called after the death of her ex husband to tell her they were sorry for not believing her but that they were still mad over her leaving. It had been the first time they had said any such nice words to her in her entire life, they were as cold to her as they were back then.

Every now and then she would call them or they would call her to check in accepting her life as it was now, they still had no wish to meet Dean or the child that was growing inside of her, and she had no wish to let either one be tained by them. And her brother had come up to visit finally having the aproval form his parents to do so, it was obserd but it was what she wanted. She had missed him for the last few months of her life, she even seen he had a thing for Milly, and when he had asked her out she turned him down apologizing for the fact that she still loved James, she wasnt interested in anyone else, October didnt believe she ever would be.

Months passed christmas came and went and soon it was time for her baby boy to come into this world and meet everyone who loved him so much already. He was born at six pounds eight ounces and had a set of lungs on him enough to clear a room.

He was by far the most beautiful child she had ever seen, he had his daddies hair and eyes, her nose and mouth, and he had freckles dotting his face, he was perfect, her family was perfect. After she was able to go back to work the first thing she wanted was to see her sharks to check up on them and see how they were doing. Coming back to find that all of her work was neatly done and filed as she liked it, she did turely love her job.

And that is what she did she spent her future doing what she loved most, she spent her future taking care of her son and Dean, who had, 3 months after Wyatt was born asked her to marry him, she accepted and she was planning her wedding at the moment, Milly by her side of corse.

October knew that James had won custody of his son and was planning on being back a week before her wedding, he always asked how Milly was doing and that Jake had missed her terribly, she sensed he had missed her just as much if not more. The wedding was in a month and a half, she had everything she needed for every one plus herself, she hadnt told Milly of anything dealing with Jake, he would be back soon and if he loved her he would make things right, thats how these brothers work, they f**k up and become better men for it.

She just hoped that Milly would see passed it and want to fix it also. She hadnt seen another man, not even checking them out, James was it for her, like Dean was it for October. She sighed as she looked out over the water from her front porch the baby monitor next to her as she drank her coffee and looked at Percy, he had gotten to his full height and he was huge, taking up the full bed or couch if he chose to, but he chose to be with the baby at night while he slept, this amazing dog went from being hers to being her childs in less than a few hours of him being home from the hospital, she couldnt imagine a better life for herself.

She couldnt imagine a better future for her child than the one she had now, she heard the door open and she looked over her shoulder to the man who would soon be her husband, she stood up as he aproched her wrapping his arms around her and kissing her until they couldnt breath any more, seperating they smiled at each other and turned to watch the waves crash into the shore.

This here was Her Future.
