Chapter I
Ayen Balangan Niece had always known she will become a lawyer someday.
Her mother always told her that she was suited to become a member of the Legal Profession . She was a good communicator and a good listener ever since she was a kid as as her mother recalled.
When Ayen was young, she used to watch TV a lot particularly news channels, legal dramas and movies about lawyers. Her all time favorite movie was Legally blonde. This movie inspired her to chase her dream of becoming a member of the Legal Profession someday. It also taught her to never give up despite so many hurdles along the way and not to let obstacles detour her from continuing on the path to her dreams”.
Ayen joined the debate team when she was in High School because she knew that the rigorous training she will obtain from this organization will sharpen her communication skills both her oral and written. Being a good communicator and listener are qualities that aspiring Lawyer like Ayen must possess to become a successful lawyer in the future.
Ayen graduated from High School in 2004.
She matriculated in Rellano College because was a recipient of academic scholarship. She took Bachelor of Arts Major in Political Science because as per her class adviser “when it comes to pursuing a law career, the latter remains one of the most popular pre-law courses among college students because of how closely linked it is to the legal system”
For Ayen , College was her initial step toward achieving her dream. So she study harder, attend her class regularly, take thorough notes during a class, participate in the class discussion, ace the exam ( both written and oral) and lastly, burn the midnight oil.
Through hard work, perseverance and faith in God she was able to finish Bachelor Arts Major in Political Science course with flying colors.
Now! All your hard work, all your sacrifices, all sleepless nights, struggles, downfalls, has pays off said her mother to Ayen.
Her family, relatives and friends were so happy and proud of her achievement.
Ayen was so excited to her upcoming graduation and was thrilled to finally obtained her college diploma the fruit of her labor.
She told herself “finally after four years of waiting i can now proceed to law school, and become the first Lawyer in the family.” while holding her toga.
One month after her college graduation. She looked for the Universities in Metro Manila that offered Bachelor of Laws (LLB) to submit her Application. And after that she took the qualifying exam administered the by University. Luckily, she passed both the entrance exam and interviewed, and now ready to enroll.
However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Ayen could not enroll this coming semester because she needed to work for his younger siblings education. Since both of her parents are old, they could not provide financial support for his younger siblings.
Although heavy heart, Ayen decided to put her dream on hold for the time being. For now, she needs to look for a job to earn a living for her family.
That is why two months after graduation she immediately send out several resume to different companies. Hoping to be hired as quickly as possible.
Fortunately, one month after sending out application after application she was finally hired as Paralegal Officer at Dura Realty Incorporations.
Ayen was deeply thankful and grateful to the company; for the opportunity and trust has been given to her despite of having no experience in Real Estate field. In return, she promised to work hard and become a valuable resource to the company.
As a Paralegal Officers at Dura Realty Incorporations, Ayen was tasked to perform a variety of works to support their in house lawyer including drafting correspondence and legal documents such contracts and mortgages, maintaining and organizing files, conducting research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles and the like.
For Ayen working under the supervision of lawyer was a dreamed come true because she was able to have a glimpsed of the legal world. In addition, it rekindle her childhood dream of becoming a lawyer.
Then, she swore to herself that with God’s grace she can enter law school soon and eventually become a lawyer.
But for now, her goal is to become the best Paralegal Officers in the City and to save up for her tuition fee because no one will provide money for her schooling except herself.
