Chapter 8: Wasn't suppose to happen

It was now 5:30 p.m.,and my work load has finally started looking quite manageable. If I keep this up,I could probably be done by seven.Sifting through some paperwork,I came across an invitation to a Ball I was invited to.The Prestigue Ball! This ball was a very large and popular event,that only the elite and prestigious wolves and supernatural creatures were invited.The event brought out all kings,alphas,betas,gammas,fae,vampires, high ranking officials,and anyone who was considered of any importance to the occasion.

The event oooozed money ,screamed rich,but most people came to show off their most prized possesion,"THEIR MATES!"

No amount of money in this world was more important than one's mate.They would use any occasion to show off what they truly valued and treasured the most,and hell I couldn't blame them. I would too,if I had one.

The ball was held once a year by the beautiful Salara Blackwood. She was the true definition of raw unaging beauty,with her long black hair,slim shapely body,taught ivory skin,and a pair of hazel eyes that could pierce the soul of any man.

Salara wasn't just a beautiful woman wanted by every man,she was also the Current luna of luna's,and the mother of the Alpha king himself,king Kane. Seems as though her and her son both drunk from the same fountain of youth,seeing as her late mate and last king died in1902,when she was only 37. But just like her son,nobody dared to ask anything of it. That's the best choice,if they know what's good for them.

For the past 2 years I've attended the ball with Veronica Sinclaire.Veronica is from my pack,and the daughter of Tony and Tonya sinclaire,our pack doctors. Veronica,or roni as I called her,never dated,but we spent time together and F****d on occassion. After two large servings for dinner,I decided that all I had the energy to do was take a nice hot shower,and hit the sack. Today was truly exhausting to say the least.

After staying in the shower for what seemed like an eternity,I wrapped a towel around my waist and used another towel to dry my hair a bit. Stepping out of the bathroom to get a pair of boxers,I ended up getting the shock of my life.

Before I had a chance to protest it any further,veronica removed her bra,letting it sensually drop to the floor. I could of easily denied her and told her to get out,but as always,I let the wrong head make my decisions for me.
