Chapter twenty five

Lewis's Point Of View

Alpha King Brian, killed a lot of rogues but when he finally met Alpha Gin, his excitement level was unbelievable,he was like a kid who had just been given his favorite candy, he was on cloud nine, the battle between the two of them,was shorter than I expected, with Alpha King Brian, wounding Alpha Gin badly before going for the kill. What surprised me was how he suddenly stopped in his tracks as if hit by something next thing I knew,he sent a mind link to us, that is me and Commander Jerkins with a strange and yet relaxing news, our mates had just arrived at the battle grounds and would join the battle soon, unconsciously I started sniffing the air, for the delicious scent of my mate. 'Beta Lewis, snap out of it. They are already here and I need you to concentrate on the battle and not loose focus. Alpha Gin is dead, it is time we headed to the southern border and lend Alpha Ruby, Alpha Ironside, Alpha Twain, Alpha Ripley and their team a helping hand. Give the order, the remaining survivors are to be rounded up and locked up in the dungeons, I want everyman on high alert and assembled here, whiles we wait for the second bunch of attacks, the wounded are to report to the pack hospital for treatment' " yes, Alpha" with that said,he left followed by Jerkins, Greg and Daemon. I gave the necessary orders and left to join them whiles the Alphas of the Alpha pack led the warriors to round up survivors and for the transport of the wounded to the hospital.

Ruby's Point Of View

As soon as, my Alpha team and I arrived at the southern border,we realized we had arrived just in time, the enemy rogues under the command of Alpha Red, had just entered the pack grounds, they stopped dead when they spotted us, we had all already shifted into our wolves on the way here, I nodded to my fellow Alpha commanders and simultaneously we gave the order to attack and attack we did. I ran headfirst into the nearest rogue slamming him into the ground and slicing his throat with my claws, I turned around to see each and every member of the Alpha pack engage an enemy or two,beside me,my Beta Cercie was furiously shredding bodies in her path. I joined in the action meanwhile Alpha Red was attacking our men, having killed a few and wounded quite a lot but before I could reach him and teach him a lesson, Alpha King Brian came out of nowhere and slammed him to the floor where he landed with a big loud thud. They (Alpha Red and Alpha King Brian) started circling each other whiles the battle raged on around them. The exchange ended even before it started, when Alpha Red jumped at Alpha King Brian, he met him midair, mid jump and clasped his( Alpha King Brian) teeth in Alpha Red's throat biting down savagely, he was dead before they hit the ground. Alpha King Brian joined the attack with Commander Jerkins, Gamma Daemon, Delta Greg and Beta Lewis hard on his tail. The battle was over at least at my end,that is what I thought until I heard howling and hundreds of paws hitting the ground heading for us, looks like Alpha Harris has decided to join the frey himself, I steeled myself as I heard Alpha King Brian's order through the pack link "regroup now, Alphas on the northern side and your men move to the southern border and regroup now, we need you" he closed the link and assumed his position in front of the lines, everyone assembled behind him. Alpha Harris and his men were on the other side and were visibly surprised to find out that both Alpha red and Alpha Gin were dead and so was their entire army, from behind us I heard paws hitting the ground, indicating our backup just arrived I turned to look at them and was surprised to see Luna Slyverken and Beta Michelle leading the charge, wait I thought she stayed behind at the Moonlight Pack,then how did she get here and that too, this quickly??

Chapter twenty six

 Point Of View

As soon as I gave the order, my mate Slyverken responded through our link" baby boy, I thought you would never ask" "now is not the time for jokes, my dearest queen. Are our wounded well taken care of?" " Of course, what do you think I have been doing all this time? By the way, you are aware that the Red moon Pack hospital does not have staffs and you still want the wounded to report there?" " Of course,I knew you would use that as an excuse to come here and join the fight, I counted on it, my queen." " You sly Alpha!" " Now is not the time,my queen are you coming or what? " " Definitely, we are right behind you" I did not have to turn,to know Alpha Slyverken, my Luna was right behind me I heard her howling alongside the entire membership of the Alpha pack and besides my wolf was beside himself with joy. I on the other hand gave my full attention to Alpha Harris who seemed taken aback as he just walked right into my well made trap, he just couldn't believe his eyes, a thousand or more dead wolves littered the battlefield and I and my men were still standing and a backup force just arrived. Slyverken thundered her way to my side, while Michelle was circling Lewis,no doubt looking for injuries. I shook my head in dismay,mates can be irrational when you least expect it. " Guys, cut it out. We have an entire enemy army just a stone throw from us, now is definitely not the time to check for injuries or display affection" I said through the pack link ' sorry, Alpha King Brian, I just got carried away. It is not everyday you get to join your mate on a battlefield' Beta Michelle replied, meanwhile Slyverken and the rest of the pack were howling with laughter through the pack link. " Okay, it is show time, members of the Alpha Pack assume your battle stances" everyone sobered immediately. "Attaaaack!!!" And thus, the battle ensued. Slyverken moved like lightening waving through the rogue army leaving a pile of bodies in her wake, Michelle and Lewis were in like state, Jerkins and Bernie were a blur, Daemon and Greg were just unstoppable, I growled and joined the frey moving so fast that in the space of seconds,sixty plus wolves laid dead at my feet and with my wolf edging me on, I was just unstoppable,my real target though was Alpha Harris,who was weaving an indistinguishable wave-like thread through my forces, I did a path correction and headed his way,ooh I am going to enjoy killing him,he ruined my life and destroyed my pack,now he has to pay and pay in kind, pack for pack,life for life. I saw him attacking one of my men,I rammed straight into him knocking him of my warrior,who he was killing. The warrior stood up and turned to face Alpha Harris but I had other ideas " brave warrior,what is your name?" I asked through the pack link ' Alpha King Brian, I am called Jordan' " Jordan, you have fought bravely and you are wounded, kindly report to the pack hospital for treatment and let me handle this one" ' as my king wishes' I stepped in front of him keeping Alpha Harris in my line of vision, from my peripheral vision I saw Jordan bow and raced limping towards the pack hospital. Alpha Harris and I circled each other wearily. He jumped at me and I met him halfway, our front paws touching, while he (Alpha Harris) tried to bite me, I avoided his sharp teeth and kicked him in the groin using his own body as leverage. He landed on his back and stood up quickly shaking his fur, he attacked again this time successfully clawing away at my chest missing my vital organs narrowly. Now I am truly pissed, I ignored the pain and launched at him successfully jumping on top of him sinking my canines into his back in the process, he howled in pain and tried to shake me off, I stubbornly held on for dear life,his howling turned into shrieking as I elongated the area of damage effectively ripping off half the muscles in his back. I landed on my paws and watched as he turned disorientedly towards me,my plan was working, he is already dying a slow death, by ripping through his back muscles I destroyed most of the blood vessels making him momentarily weak even with werewolf healing abilities,it would take a while before he returns to normal. He tried to jump at me, landing awkwardly a few centimeters away from me, in fifteen seconds the major blood vessels had healed and he was almost back to normal, he attacked again,I dodged by the time he attacked again, I had already jumped at him sinking both my teeth and my claws into his exposed neck ripping out his larynx in the process, I landed on the floor with his larynx between my teeth and my claws bloody. He slumped to the floor and landed with a thud, I stepped on his dead body and howled in victory.

Everyone's attention was fixed on me as I howled, upon noticing the dead body of their leader (Alpha Harris) the remaining rogues gave up the fight and surrendered, the warriors of the alpha pack joined in the howling signalling our victory. Now it is time to tend to the wounded.

Chapter twenty seven

Harris's Point Of View

I waited patiently for twenty minutes after the attack on alpha Brian's pack should have started. It has been twenty long minutes and still no word as to whether the plan succeeded or not,left without any other option I gave the command to my commander and the remainder of the army comprising a thousand wolves was assembled,we shifted into our wolves and raced to the Red moon Pack house, this took us about twenty minutes bringing the time total to forty long minutes after the attack started, I decided to enter the pack grounds through the southern border, the very one alpha Red entered the pack grounds through,once through I was met buy an unbelievable site alpha Brian had just killed alpha red right in front of my eyes,I was bewildered. How is it possible that the young Alpha without a pack could gather a huge army like that which is facing me and from the power being radiated,I can tell at least fifty of them are Alphas and it would seem Alpha Brian exuded the highest power but it should be impossible, no one Alpha can give off or radiate that much power or could it be possible he is the alpha King, whose rumors have reached me?? No it is not possible, just not possible. As if I did not already have enough problems as it is, I heard paws hitting the ground and headed my way, at first I thought it was alpha Gin but I raised my head only to be further disheartened,here in front of me was an army of at least a thousand wolves and a minimum of fifty alphas and not to compound it, he (Alpha Brian or Alpha King Brian or whatever he is ) also just so happens to have backup and this backup seems to comprise of as many Alphas, just like the one in front of me and to make it worse they are being lead by alpha Slyverken, Alpha Riddick's daughter and my worst nightmare,my day just got a whole lot crappier,my whole operational plan just went to toast, Alpha red and alpha Gin and presumably their entire force strength of two thousand,that is a thousand wolves each was either dead, well on the way to dying or captured. This is bad news and there is nothing I can do about it. I shrugged at the thought of the task at hand. If alpha Brian is really the alpha King Brian of new York City,then it is going t be almost impossible to defeat him (Alpha Brian) and before I could say jack, the battle had already started.

Slyverken's Point Of View

Alpha King Brian,is the name of my mate and I adore him already, add that to the fact that I have been in love with him for the past three years. This battle have me the opportunity to witness a side of my mate I never quite saw before but one I have heard a lot about from others. My man, can be gentle romantic and cute but he can also be ruthless, daring, adventurous and battle crazy when the situation demands it. In one night, he killed three alphas, the very same alphas who destroyed the Red moon Pack and killed it's alpha, Alpha Jon . Today Brian successfully avenged the deaths of his parents and that of his pack members but the battle had a toll on him, I felt the glass shattering pain in my chest, which meant my mate and King was injured and that too seriously but he ignored the pain and continued fighting. We won the war as soon as Alpha Harris died by Alpha King Brian's hands , the victory howling is a message to all. Victory was ours but it was not without a price, about a hundred warrior wolves of the alpha pack died in this battle and several others were having several stages of injuries including five Alphas,who I spotted limbing, it would take a while for them to heal and some would need physiotherapy and the doctors and medical staff I brought with me are ill equipped for that. Something has to be done and done soon, I have to talk to Brian about it. Brian led the way back to the pack house, everyone fell in line

Lewis's Point Of View

The battle was finally over but luckily we did not sustain heavy loses like I expected,most of the Alphas of the Alpha Pack had varying degrees of injuries and only five needed immediate medical attention, I signaled the warriors and this alphas were escorted to the pack hospital but now that I think about it, the Red moon Pack hospital is illy equipped to handle this kind of situation, because for one it is understaffed with most of the staff killed in the attack that destroyed the pack leading to the killing of all the members of the pack including Alpha Jon, alpha King Brian's father and my parents as well as those of Daemon and Greg. I need to find out from alpha what his plans are for the wounded " alpha King Brian, congratulations on your successful victory but before we start celebrating, there are issues to resolve" " Beta Lewis, I am all ears and congratulations to you too, this is as much your victory as it is mine" " thank you my Alpha King, our pack hospital is inadequately equipped with staff and the state of the arts medical equipment, some of the important medical equipments were destroyed in the attack four weeks ago" " in that case, I think our Luna, Luna Slyverken is a step ahead of us as she brought some of her pack doctors along" " this is good news but still it will not be enough for the almost thousand injured warriors headed straight for the pack hospital" " in that case, make arrangements to have to have those who cannot be treated here moved to new York or any order place that the treatments can take place, money should not be a problem, we bear all the medical expenses, okay??" "Yes, my king" I headed to the pack hospital for a few quick words with the Moonlight Pack doctors and medical staff, that came with Luna Slyverken

Ruby's Point Of View

As the newest member of the alpha pack, I am the most excited to have being chosen to command a team in battle, Alpha King Brian killed three alphas today, alpha Red, Alpha Gin and finally Alpha Harris their leader, some of the rogues after finding out that their leaders were dead, took flight, Alpha Ironside and myself with the help of fifty of our warriors hunted them down and finished the job, the ones that surrendered were being shepherded under the command of Gamma Daemon and Delta Greg to the dungeons. On one seemed to notice but one look at Alpha King Brian and I knew the guy was wounded, even wounded he managed to stay on his feet and finish the war, my respect for him grew by another notch, I really admire and adore this guy. " My king, congratulations on the victory" " come on cousin, do you really need to address me as King?? Besides congratulations are in order for you too, you held your grounds impressively. I am proud of you" " aww, my king is proud of me, I did something good after all. But on a serious note you need to have that wound looked at,it looks pretty deep" " do not worry, my dear Ruby I will heal in no time" " I know but I insist you have it looked at and if you do not, I will have to drag you all the way to the pack hospital" " okay fine, I will just let it be for now" " sure, but I will be keeping an eye on you" he shakes his head and heads to check on the status of the others. I sent a private mind link to Luna Slyverken " my queen, congratulations on the victory" " dear sister Ruby,do you have to be so formal?? Congratulations to you too, you led the line. I am impressed" " how is that both you and darling Brian seem impressed,I only did my job and nothing more. The main reason I wanted to talk is Brian, he is wounded pretty deeply but as you are aware he will not go to the hospital to be looked at and for the wound to be disinfected" " ooh, do not worry, I am already working on it. He has no idea what is coming his way" " way to go, girl" we chuckled and closed the link,now I can relax.

Chapter twenty eight

Daemon's Point Of View

It has been awhile since you heard from me, yeah I know. It has not been easy, my duties as Gamma have kept me out of the spotlight for a long time but I am back and back for good, enough banter then back to the serious issues.

The battle was intense alot and the enemy sustained heavy loses, out of an army of three thousand barely two hundred wolves survived, this was definitely a m******e, now it is Greg and my job to sherphed the survivors,we shifted back in to our human forms and led the way, I asked the survivors to shift to their human forms and was surprised to find out that most of them were young males and females between the ages of fifteen and eighteen. Alpha Harris, Alpha Gin and Alpha Red must be crazy to have involved newbies and untrained ones at that in this war, I ordered for clothes to provided for them as I led them to the dungeons. Greg on the other hand could not hide his shock. I had to inform alpha immediately, I sent a private mind link " Alpha King Brian" " Gamma Daemon, I hear you" " Alpha King Brian, we may have a problem" " what is wrong? Are the rogues causing any problem? " " Not exactly, Alpha. We just found out that the rogues who surrendered are newbies and young ones at that with only a little training, they range between the ages of fifteen and eighteen" " tell me you are kidding? They are not even above twenty years of age?? That is abuse, the universal pack rule on warriors is they must be eighteen and above but preferably twenty years of age because it is only by then they would have acquired enough experience and training, to apply in a war situation when the time arrives." " Yes,alpha. I am fully aware of the rules,my problem now is what to do with them" " are you suggesting we recruit them?" " If possible Alpha, yes" " okay, Gamma Daemon, you and Delta Greg sort through them and hand in your reports on what to do with them,if you need the services of your mates, feel free to ask" " thanks, Alpha" I closed the link. Greg who was walking beside the whole time asked ' what did Alpha King Brian say?' ' Greg, it would seem we have some conditioning to do. Are you up for it' ' Are you kidding me Daemon, the opportunity to condition future members of our pack is not one I intend to miss, let us do it'

Brian's Point Of View

As everyone hurt and unhurt were being checked and examined by the health care providers brought in by Luna Slyverken, I walked towards the woods where I shifted back to my human body, wincing at the pain from the gaping trench like hole on my chest and not forgetting the wound in my shoulder both were healing quickly but not quick enough,this one would definitely leave a scar behind, I quickly picked some of the clothes hidden in the tree branches and wore them, it turned out to be checkered Louis Vuitton shorts and matching short sleeves shirt, I winced as I wore them. Being engrossed in my pain, I did not realize I had an audience. I was startled by the clearing of throat behind me, I turned to see an already dressed Luna Slyverken watching me curiously, her eyes however were questioning me,l shrugged wincing inwardly at the pain, she asked " so, when do intend to have that wound looked at? " " er, Luna my wounds are nothing to be bothered about besides they are well on the way to been healed" the look she gave me was one of disbelieve. " Look, Alpha King Brian, you gave the instructions that everyone injured or not, should have himself or herself checked by the doctors before retiring to bed and as your friend and Luna, I intend to make sure you follow that order yourself " " can I talk myself out of this one?" " No, there is no chance in hell you would say anything that would change my mind, I noticed how you winced as you were wearing the clothes not to mention when you shrugged,so save your breath and let us go" I shook my head in defeat " you are quite something else,my queen" " that is the reason why I am your mate, friend and queen,shall we my king?" I turned and headed for the pack hospital located a hundred yards away from the pack house, Slyverken came up from behind me and slipped her hand into mine while we walked side by side. The hospital was chaotic to say the least, bodies laid everywhere, the whole hospital was full, my alphas well most of them spotted patches and bandages and most had running intravenous infusions, most where spread-eagle on the hospital beds, the warriors did not fare well either, I just could not believe my eyes, all this people fought for me,some died today in my name and most laid here on hospital beds with various degrees of injuries, the next time I ask men to die for me would definitely be the last,if I can avoid it, I will. Slyverken on the other hand looked calm and composed, most of the Alphas and warriors who were awake bowed in respect at the site of me and my queen. The nurses and medical staff did likewise as we passed them, the Moonlight Pack doctor, snapped to attention as we entered his office, he quickly asked a nurse to bring in a vital signs tray and set-up a wound dressing trolley. In five minutes, the nurse returned with the trolley and the tray. He checked my vital signs and reported everything to be normal except for the high pulse rate and blood pressure but he said it may be due to the adrenaline rush during the battle, I was asked to take off my shirt for my wounds to be dressed. I did so grudgingly and winced when the methylated spirit soaked gauze touched my wounds,he cleaned the dirt out of the wounds and applied gauze soaked in savlon, a dressing solution and bandaged them. I wore my shirt again and was surprised to see Slyverken taking hers off revealing the big straight lined gush on her abdomen, I growled when I saw the wound, this could have been prevented but I was so focused on the battle I did not realize my mate was injured. I was mentally rebuking myself when Slyverken touched my shoulder bringing me effectively back to the present. " We are done here, I think we can retire to the pack house now, thanks doc for everything" " anytime, my queen" we stood and left but instead of heading to the pack house, I did a course correction and headed right straight to my private cabin,where I doused off as soon as my head touched the pillows, Slyverken slumped beside me and snuggled closer, I inhaled her essence and smiled even in my sleep.
