I smiled, understanding their reluctance. I knew that they didn't want to be a part of some conspiracy, especially because they didn't know what I was capable of. They were scared of me, which made sense. "I understand," I replied. "Is there any chance that we can talk?" The guards looked at each other, their expressions remaining neutral. I could see the fear in their eyes, along with the hesitation. They didn't want to get involved in any kind of conflict, but they also knew that they had to do so.
