Chapter 7: Save Yourself, I’ll Hold Them Back

Chapter 7- Terrence {Rex} Harper-

how did they think I wouldn't hear them thatday? they stood right outside. I heard everything. Did I really break hisheart? it wasn't my fault, I was forced to. I never wanted to hurt him, hell, I’mthe one who fell in love as soon and I saw the guy. I knew he would get a lotof s**t for dating the football quarter back so in attempt to lessen thestress, I quit, in a colorful way at that.

I hated how Cole looked at Harvey. Colewanted him, Cole was a bi college student who just wanted a good time while I caredfor the little rabbit.

Harvey and I were messing around on thefootball field after school about a week ago and apparently Jensen saw us.Jensen was on the baseball team, but he was also my replacement quarterback. Hepulled me out of class the other day and told me he saw, now I would have noobjection to coming out as who I really am, but I felt that Harvey wouldn't bethat open to it. Jensen told he would tell the entire school, "not onlywould that mess up your future but think about poor little Harvey" hesaid, "do you really think Harvard's going to want a gay kid who's justbrain and not social, grades aren't everything ya'know. Harvard's going to lookat his record and shred it."

"You break up with him or I’ll let yourlittle secret out and you'll lose Harvey anyway, so don't f**k up hislife" he told me.

that's when I texted Harvey and broke upwith him while Jensen hid behind a corner listening. Seeing Cole so protectiveof Harvey made me beyond pissed. Not only that, he called Harvey Bunny. That'snot ok. What was worse is that Harvey seemed ok with it.

I stormed out the house after Cole left todrive Harvey home and drove like a mad man to Jensen's. I slammed my handon the door and he opened half asleep.

"Do you seriously nap after school likea 6-year-old?" I scoffed pushing my way into his huge house.

"Yea" he rolled his eyes, "Ido, you gotta problem with it?"

"Go ahead" I snapped.

"What?" he yawned.

"Tell people, I don't care, as long as Ihave Harvey everything will work out somehow and I know it’s selfish of me but Ifeel like Harvey thinks the same thing so go ahead and tell everybody because Iam NOT going to be pushed around by some d**k who wants to play peewee god ofhigh school" I huffed.

"You really like him" he gawked.

"It's been two days since I saw him,and I feel like I’m dying" I took shallow breaths trying my damnedest tonot break down.

"I see" he looked down.

"what?" I snapped.

"I wanted to protect you, I wasthinking you were just going through a stupid phase, that you'd snap out of itand be you again, but you really like him, I won't tell, Rex"

"What?" I asked.

"I won't tell people, but you bettertake care of him" he looked up at me.

I hugged him tightly and he laughed andpushed me away.

"Ok ok you big i***t now go get thatboy" he pushed me out the door and slammed it behind him, "and don'tyou dare interrupt my nap time again!"

I rolled my eyes and sped to Harvey's house,it's been two days and I wanted to hold him till he gets sick of me. I poundedon the door and it swung open.

"Rex!" he gasped.

"Is your Auntie home?" I asked.

"N-no, wh—"

I slammed my lips onto his in needy lust. Hetried to push me away, but I pushed him into the house and locked the door. Ipressed my hand against his back and he arched into me.

"God, I missed you so much" Ibreathed out

"What are you doing?" he breathed,"I thought you hated me?"

"I could never hate you, I thought Iwas protecting you" I said.

"What are you talking about?" helooked at me confused.

"I was blackmailed but I realized thatyou are worth more and everything is going to be ok" I rambled out mostlikely confusing him even more.

"Wha—"

I pressed my lips to his again.

"I love you" I whispered outfoolishly.

"Rex!" he pushed me off him and myeyes widened at the man in Army pants and a white t-shirt standing in thehallway.

"this is Rex? you totally overcorrected me Bunny" the man said, and I growled.

"T-t-thi—this is Stephan" Harvey stuttered,and I rose a brow.

"I’m Rex"

"I noticed" the man smiled.

"who are you?"

"Bunny's promise" Stephan said andI growled, "I'm not going to fight you, because I would beat the s**t outof you but listen up, I have a little less than two weeks left, so throw me abone and let me enjoy the rest of my time back with the boy I have loved foryears, then you and him and do whatever you need to do"

"what the hell?"

"I’m in the air-force, and I don't wantHarvey to have to wait"

"so, while he's here.... w-we justcatch up on missed time"

"are you asking me to stay broken upwith him for two weeks?" I gaped.

"no, I understand how messed up this isbut, for a little while more, let me be with him"

"what...?"

"Terrence, he...I don't know how to sayit"

"I just heard you say you lovedhim" Stephan said, "I love him too, so let me just kiss himgoodbye"

"Steph! don't go!"

"I need to catch up with the boy’sbunny, I will call you later"

"Steph! no!"

I watched the man press his lips to Harvey'ssoftly, I felt weird watching it, but it was full of so much emotion, I almostfelt bad for the poor blond, he was just giving up like that.

"if you ever need ANYTHING just callme, okay?" the man asked Harvey and Harvey nodded, hugging the mantightly.

Stephan grabbed my arm, "if you hurthim, I’ll bomb you" he seethed then smiled and left.

"what was that?"
