Chapter 8- Harvey Duke-

I opened my door at about 10 at night and myaunt was sitting on the couch. Rex had just dropped me off and I bet you mycheeks were still a bit flushed after the make out session in Rex's 1967Impala.

"So, when did you become afaggot?" she sneered, and I cringed at how much disgust she out into thewords.

"what are you talking about auntie?have you been drinking? did you have dinner, I’ll make you dinner" Ishuffled around nervously.

"Why would I want a faggot making myfood" she spat.

"auntie..."

"How long have you been f*****g thatboy?"

"Aunt Jamie!" I blushed.

"be honest with me boy!" she shookan empty bottle of vodka at me.

"I- haven't had s-s*x with-him" Isniffled, "but..."

"But?"

"I’ve been dating him for about a monthnow..."

"Get out of my f*****g house" shespat.

"Jamie!"

"no! I will not have some dirty faggotin my house! your father would be so ashamed! I bet your mother doesn't evenwant you anymore, you're a terrible human being!"

"It's not a choice Jamie!" Iyelled, "I’m gay! that’s that! please, can we just move past it?"

"you're going to burn in hell youfilthy faggot, you and that boy! Satan will have a good f*****g time with youfilthy sinners!"

"Jamie I’m your little boy" Icried.

"No!" she snapped, "youaren't, I did not care for a fag, why don't you take a c**k up your ass andride it all the way to hell and out of my f*****g house!"

"J-Jamie" I stuttered,"please!"

"Out!" she screamed throwing thebottle and it shattered next to my head sending a shard to cut my face,"you f*****g faggot, get out!"

I backed out the door grabbing my backpackand I ran.

I had no clue where I was going. I ran pasta sleek black car parked at the park and it flashes its head light startled me.

"Harvey?" Rex asked.

I dropped to my knees and hid my face in myhands feeling the slick blood run down my face. I heard a car door slam and Ifelt the rumbling of feet approach me.

"Harvey!" Rex wrapped his armsaround me, "what happened?"

he skipped the "are you ok?"because I obviously wasn't.

"I have nowhere to go!" I cried,"my dad is dead and none of my relatives live anywhere close to here, mymom ins in a mental hospital! I’ll have to go to a foster home!"

"Harvey what are you going on about?why are you bleeding? please baby" he was begging now, "what happenedto you?"

"M-my Aunt found out and kicked meout" I buried my face in the nape of his neck.

"Harvey" he held me tighter.

"What am I going to do?" Imumbled.

He picked me up and I looked at him shocked.

"Rex?"

"You're going to live with me, I wasgoing to come out to my mom soon anyway, better now than ever"

"Rex! I couldn't I’d beintruding!" I shook my head.

"Will you let me help you foronce" he kissed my forehead and placed me in the passenger seat. he droveto his house and Cole was sitting on the couch flipping through the T.V astheir mother, who I had met before, read in the chair across from Cole.

"Rex?" she turned to face us,"Harvey!" she shrieked.

Cole stood up in a flash and they bothrushed over to me.

"Dear god what happened boy?" sheasked running the pad of her thumb across the gash.

"His aunt kicked him out" rexsaid.

"Dear god why?" she said snappingat Cole who ran upstairs and came down with cotton balls, bandages, andperoxide, "tell me while we get you fixed up" she smiled sadly.

"Mom" Rex sat next to me asCherrie patched me up.

"hm?" she asked dabbing the bloodoff my face.

"Harvey's aunt kicked him out becausehe's gay" she stopped, "and so am I" he gulped.

"Rex" she sighed, "don't lookat me like I am going to send you to hell because of this"

"you're not mad?" he asked.

"Of course not, you know you and Colehad an uncle" she said.

"But you only had sisters Ma" Colechimed in as he leaned against the wall with his arms folded.

"I had a brother, his name was Danny,he was the sweetest thing, always cared for everyone else before him, he wasgay too, out father found out and kicked him out, I still kept in touch but oneday when he wouldn't answer my calls I went over and found him dead on hisfloor, he over dosed on sleeping pills"

Cole rubbed his mother's shoulders,"Rex you're my son and I will love you no matter what and honestly Iprefer hearing that you're gay other than you getting a girl pregnant, andHarvey" she looked at me, "You are now my fourth son" shesmiled, "please stay as long as you like"

"Thank you so much" I cried,"and I can help cook and clean as well"

She gave me a small nod and Cole smiled.

"it's been a long night" Rex saidwrapping a hand around mine.

"Now I will let you two sleep in thesame bed but if I hear any funny business you're sleeping on the couch TerrenceJeremy Chandler" she warned.

"ma!" he blushed embarrassed.

"Thank you so much Cherrie" Ithanked her again.

"It's no problem Harvey, I like you afterall"

I smiled, and Cole patted my head beforereturning to his T.V, show. I watched as Rex hugged his mom and kissed her onthe cheek and then he led me up the stairs. I let him undress me and he draggedone of his big SUPERNATURAL hoodies over my head. I watched as he undressedhimself and slipped a pair of black P.J. bottoms on. He took my hand and pulledme into his lap as he sat on his bed in the dark.

"I love you so much Harvey and I’m sosorry about what happened" he said.

"It's ok" I said and yawned,"thank god it's Friday"

he nodded and lifted the covers crawling innext to me. He arms wrapped around me and he pulled me to his chest.

"I love you Harvey Duke" hemumbled sleepily.

"I love you too Rex Chandler" Ihummed drifting off and getting the best night’s sleep I’ve gotten in a longtime.
