Chapter 9- Harvey Duke-

"I couldn't possibly love youmore" Rex said as we laid in bed as the soft pitter-patter of rain hit theroof and window.

The Cab's Intoxicated echoed softly throughouthis room and the lazy Saturday morning was full of whispered I love you’ s andsmall kissed here and there. It had been an eventful month, November was alittle messy.

Rex walked up to me in the hallway on the2nd and kissed me right then and there in front of everyone. That day was fullof "are you gay?" yes. "really?" yes. "Areyou dating Rex?" yes. "are you like blackmailing himor something?" no, quite the contrary. "Whyyou?" ...

it was a question I asked myself a lot. Iwas just a lonely nerdy boy and he was THE Rex Chandler, start quarterback andtown bad boy.

"Hey Rex" I asked blushing andhiding my face in his chest.

"Yes Harvey?"

"Why me?"

"Harvey" he lifted my chin, so Ilooked at him and all his glory, "is that what’s been bothering you?"

"Rex you could have any one in theworld and—"

"I don't want any one" he pouted,"I want you"

"You have me" I snuggled closer tohim.

"You are all I need in this world"

"Rex what's going to happen? you're asenior but I’m only a junior, what is going to happen next year?"

"well you can come live with me atcollege and go to a high school in whatever town that is, or you can stay herewith my mum and Jarred"

"Jarred?"

"do you want to hear a story?"

I nodded into his chest.

"when we were little my dad, well, hewas a bad bad man, he hit us on bad days, but our mom got the worst of it, whenI was about 13, well wait, ok so you know Cole, my older brother, but he'snot the oldest"

"he’s not?"

"nope, the oldest is Jared" hesaid, "let me paint you a mental picture"

I listened carefully. according to Rex, Jaredwas the tallest, about 6'4.

he had brown hair and hazel eyes, apparently,he had a very Strong jaw line.

he was fit, really fit.

he wanted to be a doctor.

"when I was 12, so let’s see, thatmeans he was 18" he said "my dad came home, way too drunk, he startedyelling at ma, he rose his hand at her, she had bruises all over her body,turning her soft skin a sickly purple. When she was a crying mess Cole and Itried to stop him but he pushed me through a window and Cole into the stonecabinet, Cole had two broken rips and I had shattered my wrist" I gulpedand kissed his chest lightly and he ran his fingers through my hair, "Wejust heard a gunshot and our father fell face down on the ground bleeding fromhis chest, my mother tried to wake him up but he was gone, Jarred had come homefrom work to find his mother in a corner and his two brothers hurt, he did theonly thing to protect his family, it was dismissed as self-defense but itstarted to mess with his head, when I was 15 he was checked into a mentalhospital for all the depression and anxiety and guilt, he's being released in aweek though"

"I'm so sorry T" I kissed himsoftly.

"It's ok, it was a long time ago, I’mjust happy my brother is coming home"

"I’m just happy you're happy"

"we're sickening, aren't we?"

"Yes!" Cole yelled form thehallway and we both laughed.

"I Love you Harvey Duke" he said.

"I love you more, Rex Chandler"

Today was the day, the day Jarred came home.we all waited nervously at the front door for the cab to pull up. Rexsqueezed my hand and I leaned into him providing comfort. We heard a car pullup and a door slam. this man must be huge, I mean Rex is 6'0, I’m only 5'8,Jarred will be a total of 7 inches taller than me, holey crap.

The door knob turned, and the door swungopen.

the man in front of me was one of the mostbeautiful creatures the world put on this earth. he was looking down but raisedhis head with a smile and his mother hugged him in tears.

"Hi Ma" he said hugging her back.

"f*****g Christ Jarred" Cherrisobbed.

"I missed you so much" he whispered,and she pulled away and he wiped a tear from her cheek.

"Jay!" Cole hugged his brother andJarred patted him on the back.

He turned to Rex.

"Rexxy" he smiled softly, andruffled Rex's hair and Rex moved in to hug him.

"I missed you so much"

Res was 18 and the man in front of us was 23and they both looked like children who didn't want to let go of each other.

"Jay" Cherrie pulled her son attentionto her and she grabbed me, "this is Harvey, he's kind of like your 3rdbrother"

"You took one in to replace mema" Jarred smirked, "I’m so hurt" he fake grabbed his chest.

"He's my boyfriend" Rexchimed in.

"Boyfriend oi?" he looked at methen at Rex.

"you're really cute so I see what he seesin you, but I have to ask, why ya living with us?"

"my aunt didn't.... agree with myviews"

"kicked out?" he asked but ruffledmy hair affectionately, "man that's rough"

"Harvey never had any siblings"Rex pointed out.

"No siblings eh? sounds great"Jarred laughed.

"Not really, it’s really lonely" Isaid.

"well I’m always here" Jarredsurprisingly hugged me and I slowly hugged him back tears starting to slip downmy face.

"Hey, I didn't mean to make you cry, I’mso sorry" he said.

"he's just a little..."

"I'm really happy" I criedsmiling, "I’ve never felt this much love from people"

Rex kissed the top of my head, "we'llalways love you Bunny"
