Chapter 10- Harvey Duke

"I'm glad you came home for Valentine'sday" I smiled as Rex drew circles on my back with his legs crossed and amug of coffee in his other hand.

we watched Cole play with Jared’s son,Misha.

Misha was born only 6th months ago to hismother who was Jared’s high school sweetheart and they were meant to be.

"how could I not come home?" hekissed my temple.

"I love you"

"I was hoping you would say somethinglike that" he smiled and put his mug on the table holding my hand andleading me outside.

"What are we doing?" I asked, andhe lean me out to the back yard.

Pink and red lights were strung up on thefence surrounding the yard and I looked at him.

"Terrence" I mused, “what is goingon"

"Come here" he tugged me under thebig pine tree and he pointed above him.

"Mistletoe" I smiled, and henodded.

"it's way past Christmas but what thehell" I kissed his lips.

Snowflakes started to fall and recovered thealready 5 inches of snow we were standing in. He pulled away and got down onone knee.

"Rex!" I gasped my hand flying tomy mouth.

He pulled put a small black box, "Okbefore you dump me because you finally realize you can do much better let metell you that I love you more that anyone has ever loved another. ok so do youremember when you were a freshman? you first started walking through thefootball field to get home and I always kind of saw you, I thought you were sobeautiful. you are still but you've gotten even more stunning. I love it whenyour hair gets out of control and flops over your stupid hipster glasses. Ilove when you are stressed about exams and your stubble grows out a bit. I lovehow even when this world is pure s**t you are still smiling"

"This is one f****d up seduction" Ismirked.

"Harvey I am foolishly, stupidly,desperately, dead in love with you and I want to spend forever with you,so" he opened the box to show two navy blue rings with silver edges, onewas smaller and he took that one out, "will you put up with my stupidityand do me the greatest honor by marrying me?"

"Yes" I smiled, and he slid thering on my finger and I pulled him up wrapping my arms around his neck andkissing him, he kissed back and slid his own ring on his finger.

"I love you so much Rex"

"I love you for a thousand- andone-nights Harvey Duke"

"Harvey Chandler" I corrected.

"God, I love you" he picked me upand spun me around.

I laughed and kissed him as he put me down.

"It's really cold out here"

"why don't we head back to theapartment and I’ll get you all warm" he mumbled.

I nodded and three hours later we werecollapsed in the big bed we shared, and the white sheets surrounded us. now Ihad lost it to Res about three years ago, when we were just teens, it was abouttwo weeks after Jarred had come home.

"I can't wait to grow old withyou" he said.

"me neither" I smiled, and we fellasleep.

in the year 2018 Rexand Harvey got married on a cool May night and it was their happiest moment,that's what they thought. They shared many happy moments.

Harvey got into Harvardand they moved to an apartment not far from the college.

They held hands asCole's bride walked down the aisle.

The laughed together asJarred told how Misha got in his first fight because some little boy told agirl she wasn't a princess and Misha told him that every girl was aprincess.

they stood together asAlfie and Annie tied the knot.

They saw hundreds ofsunsets and shooting stars.

They saw billions of Ilove you’ s and soft kisses.

they both graduatedcollege and got jobs, Harvey worked at a law firm and Rex was a big shot sportscoordinator.

They never reallywanted kids, Misha was enough for them when Jarred had to leave for a transferand Misha's mom got sick and never made it out.

They both cried whenCherrie almost died in that car crash when Jarred called about Misha's mom.

They loved eachother no matter what happened but the year 2022 would prove how much theyloved each other as they faced something anybody could die from.
