As Maxwell sat down at the table with his family and pack members eating breakfast, he had not seen the new ones. Ryder noticed him looking and leaned over and said to him, “I do not think they will be down to eat this morning. We do not know how long they have been on the run and do not know when the last time they felt safe enough to sleep. So we may not see them till ten.”
“You seem to be a little warmer to the newcomers I see. We will need a meeting in my office after we eat with the Gamma, Delta, and the top warriors that will fight them in the trails.” Maxwell said, teasing his Beta, who is his long time best friend and brother.
“I had an interesting conversation with them last night, and they looked exhausted. I will tell you about the conversation before the others come in.” Ryder said.
“Then let's go now,” Maxwell said. He leaned over to Lena and kissed her, and both he and Ryder left to go to the Alpha’s office. Once they entered the office, Maxwell went and sat behind the oak desk that had been his fathers and grandfathers before him. Ryder went to the black leather couch and sat down, and crossed one leg. “So what did you guys discuss,” asked Maxwell.
“Well, they had asked what Beta, Gamma, and Luna were? They said that they did not have them in their homeland. And when I asked how it was set up there. They told me that they had to discuss it with you before myself, and Gamma could know. However, they did make it clear that the little girl’s life was at stake, and they would protect her with their lives. Oh, and they are all Alpha wolves. Have you ever seen anything like that?” Ryder said to Maxwell.
“That is strange; I have never heard of multiple Alphas working together in a pack. That little girl must be of great importance to have four grown Alphas to look after her.” Maxwell replied to Ryder.
“But two of them are her brothers, so that would make her an Alpha female as well. Right?” Ryder asked.
“Yes, she would be a female Alpha, but why is she being protected? That is the real question,” Maxwell pondered to Ryder. Who just sat there, nodding his head.
“Well, we will get some answers later today. Do you think we will fight today?” Ryder asked.
“If they want to, then yes. I do not see why not,” Maxwell stated. He looked to the time and saw that it was fifteen till ten when he heard a knock on the door.
“Come in,” Maxwell stated. The door opened, and Maxwell’s Gamma Elliot and the four men walked in, with Lilly walking in between her brothers.
“Good Morning. How did you sleep,” Maxwell asked the group?
“Dobro jutro dobro spavam. (Good morning, I sleep good.)” Lilly said. Maxwell looked at her and then to Isaiah.
Isaiah smiled and chuckled, “We will be teaching her English soon; she does understand it but has yet to start speaking it. She said good morning, and she slept well. Well good. But she is two. Thank you, we all slept well. It has been a while since we have had the opportunity to sleep well.”
Maxwell smiled and replied, “It is good to know that you slept well. I wanted to discuss with you about the trails and to see if you wanted to do them today or tomorrow.”
The four men looked at each other and then back at Maxwell, “We will do them today, best do them and get them over with.”
Maxwell stated, “I agree, then we can discuss some things that had been asked last night as well as getting some answers myself.”
Ezekiel said, “Of course, you will know all that is needed to know to keep Lilly safe.”
“And yourselves too,” Maxwell said.
“Our lives do not matter as much as hers. She is the future of wolves. She will bring us back to our home one day. Even if we die, the future of our kind is in her hands.” Dominic said.
“I do not understand,” Maxwell said.
“When can we do the trails, and what does it consist of?” Elijah asked. Maxwell noticed that they had changed the subject but allowed it to go on.
“We can do them wherever you are ready. It will consist of each of you taking on one of my best warriors and then my Gamma Elliot, my Beta Ryder, and then myself. You get through all four of us, and then you will be welcomed.” Maxwell explained.
“What are the restrictions of the fight?” Asked Isaiah.
“Well, no wolf form, the only human form, and you have to stay in the circle first one out is the end of the battle,” Maxwell continued.
“So we can use elementals,” Elijah asked.
“I do not know what that is but sure if you think it will help you,” Maxwell said. “Let us change. I will call my four best warriors and let us meet at the field in like 30 minutes,” Maxwell asked.
“That sounds fine; we will be there,” Elijah stated. The four men exited with Lilly. Maxwell looked to Ryder.
“Can you tell Xander, Bryce, Dean, and Graham to come to my office now? We need to talk to them about this,” Maxwell stated.
“Already on it; they will be here in 5 minutes,” Ryder told Maxwell. A few minutes later, the four warriors walked into the Alpha’s office. Xander (who is 28 years old, 6’6, short black hair, dark brown eyes, thick muscular legs, and a broad chest with muscular arms), Bryce (is seventeen years old 6’2 with caramel skin and long black hair tied in the back with blue-green eyes. He has well-defined muscles and a strong disposition.), Dean (25 years old, 6’4 with blond hair that goes to his shoulders and teal eyes. He is strong and has a strong tactical sense.), and Graham (35 years old, 6’7, with grey hair that is almost mid-back, and gold eyes, he is the commander of training and war) all walked into the office. They looked at him, and Ryder and Graham asked, “What is going on, Alpha?”
“Well, you know that we have the trails for the four new people we are going to have today. Like in 20 minutes, so I need you four down in the field.” Maxwell explained.
“What is the order, Alpha?” Graham asked.
“ I want Xander, Bryce, Dean, then you, Graham. I want to see if they can handle a challenge.” Maxell stated.
“Yes, Sir,” the four men said at once.
*Twenty minutes later*
The field that the fights were going to happen was the training field for the pack. As the four main warriors and the newcomers assembled at the field, the rest of the men (about 200) that were training stopped to see what was going on.
Isaiah looks at the others and mind links them, “This should be fun; it has been a while since we had a total.” They had all agreed. It would feel good to fight again. Maxwell walks out into the ring and looks at the four men.
“Which one of you are going to go first?” Maxwell asks.
“ I will go first,” Dominic said with a smug look on his face as he is already sizing up the four men in front of him.
“Okay, the fight order is as follows Xander, Bryce, Dean, Graham. If all of you beat them, then we will celebrate your victory,” Maxwell explains to everyone. “Dominic and Xander will go first.”
Dominic and Xander stepped into the circle. They stand there eyeing each other up. Dominic starts to circle Xander to size him up and to feel his energy. He feels that Xander's emotions are both smug and arrogant. Dominic knew that this was an easy match to bet. Xander then squints his eyes and decides to make the first move. He leans forward with his arm pulled back and starts to move forward, and just as Xander is about to make contact with his face, Dominic moves and grabs his arm and hits Xanders where his elbow is with his hand and broke Xander's arm. Xander feels the pain and tries to keep going. While Xander is distracted by the pain, Dominic leans down and kicks his leg with a loud crack and a scream from Xander, Dominic knew he had won the fight. The others watching the fight go down see what looks like Xander is moving slow while Dominic moves at a normal pace. When Dominic broke Xander's arm and leg, the sound moved so slowly in the air. The gasp from the crowd was heard among everyone there. The other pack members were whispering among each other, “How did he do that? What kind of wolves have that power? What will the Alpha do?” Maxwell was confused about what he had just witnessed and was hearing from his people, so he stopped the fight.
“STOP!” Maxwell yelled. Everyone looked at him. “ How in the world did you break his arm and a leg like that?”
“I used the element of time. I slowed him down to grab his arm and hit the spot where you break it the same with his leg. You said we could not shift, but we could use elementals,” Dominic stated, breathing normally while Xander laid on the ground groaning in pain.
“Is that what elementals are? Can all of you do those kinds of things?” Maxwell asked as he looked to the others.
“Uh… Yes, we can use the element of time, earth, wind, air, water, and mind. We can also use the Alpha tone to make others submit even if they are not part of our pack. We are strong warriors. We have been trained to defend our people as Noble Alphas and Royalty. Is this a problem?” Dominic explained to Maxwell and his pack leaders.
“What do you mean by Noble Alphas and Royalty? There has not been any royalty in centuries.” Ryder inquired.
Dominic looked to Maxwell, “ Before I can explain more, I need to know if we are welcomed into the pack. The safety of my sister is of most importance. We will all fight if that is what you want, but know that each of us is trained to make others submit.”
Maxwell looked to Xander and thought about what was being asked of him. Dominic had just taken out his strongest warrior in about five seconds. He knew that he needed them to be part of the pack.
“Let me discuss it with my Beta, Gamma, and Graham. Dean and Bryce take Xander to the pack hospital.” Maxwell said, pulling the men aside.
“Tell me, what do you think about them? I want them to be part of the pack, but I will need your support for the rest of them to accept them without all of them going through the trails,” Maxwell stated.
“How do we know that they will not betray us? Dominic just took out Xander; I have never seen someone take him down ever. So on that part, we need them,” Ryder said.
“I think we should be such an asset to the pack. They can help me train the other men and women,” Graham explained.
“That is what I am thinking, but I also want the rest of the pack to accept them as well. So we have to present a united front about why only one went through part of the trails.” Maxwell said, “ What do you think, Bryce? We will get the answers we need, and they get our protection. But I do believe that we will get so much more if they can help Graham train our men.”
“I do agree. I want to know more about them, and if that is what has to happen, then I will stand by your decision.” Bryce said.
“Okay, so we are all in agreement, they can join.” Maxwell states. The three others agree. Maxwell then turns to the four men.
“We agree that all of you can join. We would also like for you to work with Xander and Graham in the training of our men. Welcome.” Maxwell said.
“Thank you, what do you do in your pack to make it formal?” Elijah asked.
“We can do that right here if you want, all we have to do is the pack oath and blood exchange,” Maxwell explained. “Let us go back to the packhouse and meet in my office.”
“Okay, then we will answer all questions you may have, but must be kept between you four,” Ezekiel said.
Back at the packhouse, the three men waited for Dominic to shower and change after the fight. Once he was done, the five of them went to Maxwell's office and knocked on the door. Once inside, they saw the pack knife and the Alpha and Luna and the Beta, Gamma, and Graham.
“Welcome, everyone; we are here to welcome the five newest members of The Blue Moon Pack,” Maxwell said. Everyone agreed. “We will start with the pack oath, which each of you must say excluding the Lilly since she is so young she will be granted membership through you.”
“Okay, but she will do the blood part of the initiation; that is a must,” Dominic told Maxwell.
“That can be done,” Maxwell said. He had closed the curtain in his office so it would be darker in the room. Lena then lit the candles to give light. She then put in a bowl some white sage and sandalwood to burn. Once she was done, she looked at Maxwell.
“The Oath is as followed: I (state your name) hereby swear to the Moon Goddess my loyalty to my Alpha, Luna, and the Blue Moon Pack chain of command. I swear to live with the honor of my pack, to defend my Luna, Alpha, and all pack members till my last breath. I will have the courage to stand up for my other pack family when the time comes. I will commit my pack that I will place the pack above all other agendas and personal feelings or objections that I may have.”
Each of the men took their turns, saying the oath. Once that was done. Maxwell grabbed the pack knife and brought the bowl over; he cut his hand and let the blood flow into the bowl as the sage and sandalwood burned. He then turned to the other members of his pack, handed them the knife, and followed his lead. “With the blood of Alpha, Luna, Beta, and Gamma, we welcome you Ezekiel, Dominic, Isaiah, Elijah, and Lilly to the Blue Moon Pack. We offer you our protection, our family, our love, our friendship, our pack life.” As each of the men cut their hands and gave some of their blood, they felt the connection to the pack get stronger, and they felt the intertwining bond on the royal line to the new pack. Then they got to Lilly, and she put her hand out to give her blood. Maxwell looked to Dominic and Ezekiel as they pressed the knife's tip-in Lilly’s small hand. He noticed that as her blood flowed into the bowl, she did not cry or flinch. But everyone in the room and pack felt a strong, powerful surge of energy go through them and the pack as soon as her blood hit the rest. The bond of the royal wolves flowed through the pack, and each one felt the power of the newest members. The mindlink exploded with questions and shocked people. Maxwell had to send out a silence order for the pack.
“What was that?” He asked Dominic and Ezikiel.
“We can now tell you who we are and why we are really here and answer all the questions you may have,” Dominic said. They all looked at each other and waited for them to start.
