“What do you mean? How can you help them?”
“We don’t have a lot of time. I will explain on the way.”
She took off at a sprint. There was an odd feeling of not being the one in control of your own body.
She sprinted the entire way to the pack house.
“I need you to picture yourself as a human form.”
I did as hard as I could and next thing I knew I was standing naked at the back door of the pack house.
“Now go and get clothes, but don’t put them on.”
I ran through the house and grabbed a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and ran back outside.
“Just relax and picture yourself as a wolf again.”
In a blink, I was running again and with my clothes in my mouth.
Arriving back at the hospital, Echo had me shift again.
“Now get dressed, hurry.”
As soon as I was dressed, we made our way back to the 4th floor. I found my siblings all sitting in the waiting room.
“He is in the second room on the right,” Lucas said, the second he saw me. I could tell they had all been crying.
I made my way to the room and pushed the door open.
My Mom was holding Kingston’s hand and my dad was talking to him. They both looked up at me and smiled.

“Go to him.”
“Then what?”
“You need to wrap your body around him. I will do the rest.”

I made my way to bed and crawled up next to him. I wrapped my arms around him. I gently placed my leg over his. I laid my head on his chest and closed my eyes.

“I need you to relax and let me take control.”
“Ok.”
“And Lillian, you are going to be really tired after what I am about to do.”
“ OK, I trust you, Echo.”

I closed my eyes and felt Echo take over. I felt my body begin to vibrate and it felt like electricity was leaving my body. I could hear Echo calling to Czar. Whom I realized must be Kingston’s wolf.
I felt my energy leaving my body and entering Kingston. I could feel myself slowly drifting off to sleep.

“I need you to fight to stay awake Lillian.”
“I am trying.”
“I need you to do more than try. Czar is close but he will need us to help Kingston.”
“I will give it my everything.”

I fought harder than I ever fought before. I felt like my life was draining from me, but if that meant saving King he could have it all. I opened my eyes to try and keep myself awake.
My eyes landed on my parents as they held each other watching the events unfold. Just when I couldn’t hold on any longer, I felt the energy flow stop.

“Rest now, child.”

With those words, I let the darkness surround me.

A soft beep woke me from my sleep. I took a deep breath and Kingston’s scent filled the air.
I slowly opened my eyes to find myself still wrapped around my brother.
I looked over to see my parents sleeping in each others arms holding each other.

“Echo?”
“I am here, Lillian.”
“Did it work?”
“We did everything we could. The rest is on Kingston and Czar.”
“How will we know if it worked?”
“We wait.”

I kissed Kingston’s cheek and crawled out of bed and made my way to the bathroom. I splashed some water on my face and took a long look in the mirror. I looked tired and my eyes were red from crying.
Then my stomach growled. I realized I had not eaten since lunch. I walked out of the bathroom and found my parents both awake and looking at me like I had two heads.
“Hi.”
“What was that?” My Mother asked.
“My stomach… I haven’t eaten since lunch.” I glanced at the clock and realized I was 6 in the morning.
“That is not what your Mother meant. What did we witness with you and Kingston? You were glowing.”
“What?”
“You crawled into bed with Kingston and you started glowing. It was almost as if the glow was being absorbed by Kingston.” My Mom said, still in shock.
“Oh um well, I might have gotten my wolf and I don’t know what she did exactly but she pulled Czar to Kingston.”
“You got your wolf? Who is Czar?” My dad asked, confused.
“Yeah, I got my wolf and Czar is Kingston’s wolf.” I said, as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
