“I have never heard of such a thing or seen anything like it. I mean, I know twins have special bonds but I never.”
Before my Dad could finish his thought, my stomach growled again.
“Come on let’s get you food.” My Dad said, taking my hand and walking me out of the room.
We made our way to the cafeteria. I grabbed a tray and grabbed some fruit. I ordered an omelet, potatoes, bacon, and pancakes. I sat down and began shoveling the food into my mouth.
I felt like I hadn’t eaten in a year. When I was done, I ordered a second omelet and sausage links.
When I was finally done, I looked over at my Dad. He looked like he was in shock.
“I have never seen you eat so much food.”
I couldn’t help but giggle. “I was hungry.”
We made our way back to Kingston’s room. When we walked in, the doctor was there and talking to my Mom.
“Your son is quite a fighter. I have never seen somebody recover the way your son has.”
“Is he going to be OK?” I asked.
“If he continues to improve like he did overnight, I would say yes. But we really won’t know until he wakes up.”
The doctor left the room, leaving the three of us with Kingston.
I made my way to his side and took his hand.
“King, I need you to fight harder. I need my rock.”

“He will pull through.”
“How do you know?”
“Czar is my twin, like Kingston is yours and I can feel him.”
“When will he wake up?”
“I don’t know and we will need to stay close, but right now I want to see mate.”

“I am going to go see Chase.”
My parents nodded as I made my way down the hall. I made it to Chase’s room to find his sister and his parents in the room.
“Hi Lillian.”
“Hi um any changes with Chase?”
“No, not yet. The doctor seemed disappointed.”
My heart dropped. A moment ago, I was feeling good. Kingston made it through the night but hearing there was no change in Chase broke my heart.
I took his hand in mine and lightly kissed his cheek. Sparks and an intense feeling of pleasure rushed through my body.
“Hey baby I’m sorry I wasn’t here last night. King needed me but he is getting better, so I need you to fight.”
I wiped my tears away quickly.
“You tell Apollo I refused to let you go without officially meeting him.”

“Echo, can you feel Apollo?”
“No I can’t. I keep calling him but he isn’t answering.”
“Can we help him like we did, King?”
“It’s a little different. Kingston is your twin and we share the same energy. It transfers through our body as one. It happens all the time. You just can’t see it. But Chase doesn’t share the same energy.”
“But he is my mate. Can’t I just give him some of my energy?”
“I don’t know and I’m afraid if it does work I will give him too much and it could hurt us.”
“How did you know to stop with King?”
“The twin bond.”
“I understand the risks but we have to try. If he dies, I don’t want to go on without him.”
“You don’t understand it could kill us.”
“Do you want to live without Apollo? Do you want to live knowing you didn’t do everything you could to save him?”
“Lillian, it’s never been done. It might not work.”
“Please, we have to try.”
“I don’t like this but,”
“But will you do it?”
“Yes, but talk to your parents first and we took a huge risk with Kingston and being in a human hospital.”

“Hey baby I am going to save you.” I whispered in his ear. “Just hold on a little longer for me.”
I turned and looked at his parents. “I will be right back.”
Making my way as fast as I could to King’s room.
“Dad, are we able to take the guys back to the pack hospital?”
“No honey we can’t, but Doctor Myers is here now talking to the human doctors and he will be taking over. We have paid to have this part of the ICU closed off.”
“Can you make it so humans can’t come in?”
My father looked at me curiously. “Why is that pumpkin?”
“I….I want to try and help Chase the way I helped King. But Echo, my wolf, said it’s risky with humans walking around.”
“Is that all she said?”
“Dad, I will be fine. Don’t worry.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“Echo doesn’t know how it will work, since Chase isn’t my twin. But he is my mate and I will do whatever it takes.”
“No you won’t.”
“Yes I will. We were born for each other Dad.”
“It’s too risky…I’m sorry Lillian, but no.”
“If it was Mom lying in that bed, would you do it?”
“That’s different.”
“Is it? Why, because I’m only 16? From the moment I was born I have loved this man. I would even say we have a stronger bond because we have grown up together without the intense feeling of the bond and we still love each other.”
I watched as he thought about what I said.
“You can’t stop me Dad. I am going to save him…with or without your help. He is the love of my life.”
