Lying on my bed, oppositely faced with my captivating ceiling, staring absentmindedly into its beautiful designs.
Trying to comprehend and piece together the fragments of my dream, not realizing the bright light outside that had managed to escape into my room... until it hit my face...... Snapping me back to reality.
For a second, I used my hands to shield my face.
Then it hit me.
"My meeting"
“OH my God," I screamed.
“I’m gonna be late,” I said as I lunged to the bathroom.
“No, no, no, no, no. " Not today, I have a meeting by 9.
My eyes drifted towards the wall clock hanging at the corner of the room.
"8:20, ohh mehnnn I'm so cooked!" I said, chuckling like a maniac.
I raced towards the shower, bathing as fast as lightning, finishing what should be a ten-minute bath in five minutes.
I got out of the shower, chaotically wiping every drop of water with a whole lotta alacrity.
"What do I even wear?"
Outfits were flying and landing on the bed.
"No.....too casual."
"No.....too formal."
"This one? Ughhh, definitely not.
"Yeesh...... It's high time I changed my wardrobe.
After what seemed like forever—but was probably not up to two minutes — I grabbed one of the outfits I got recently, known to be a Hermes-made outfit.
"Hmmmm, which lucky heels will be chosen today?
chanel.....Nah
Gucci.......not today
Voilà!...... Louis Vuitton.
I got it out, wore it quickly, and paced out of the room.
Skipping breakfast was part of my routine. I'm not really into food.
I glanced at the Rolex in my hand........hoping to see something favorable.
"8:45! 25 minutes. New record"
I got out of my apartment. Walking with the confidence of a peacock.
I had to go with my fastest car....the Bugatti Chiron. It would've been the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolute.
Buttt.....my parents were worried I'd have an accident with it. It got seized.
"sighing"
"Let's see how fast I'll get there," I said with a smirk.
I've always loved cars.... not just cars, though...fast cars.
ouuuu, 8:48.
Time is ticking," I said with a surge of adrenaline rushing into my brain.
I tightened my grip on the steering wheel as I sped towards the office, which was a 30-minute drive away.
Too bad I schooled in Germany. I learned a lot about how to drift and speed. I couldn't get enough.
The thrill......
The excitement......
That's the only true therapy I always look forward to.
"Brrrrrr", my phone buzzed on the passenger seat.
"You've got to be kidding, I still have at least seven minutes. I said, still staring at the road, focused on driving to the fullest speed.
"Brr, it buzzes again."
Frustrated, I decided to check who the caller was....... Unknown caller.
"Really... "I frown. Typically, raising one of my brows. I have a habit of not picking calls that I don't know the source of.
"Brrrr, once again".
I raised the phone and picked up the call without taking my eyes off the road.
silence..... I'm not the type to answer first. Besides, I didn't call.
Nothing..... I gave in to the silence and finally said," Hello?"
still silence.
Then a voice—low, calm, …and strangely familiar.
"Don't go to that meeting."
My heart skipped…. Almost losing coordination... Almost.
"Who is this?"
Click. The call ended.
Before I could process what had just happened.
BANG!
A deafening crash echoed, accompanied by flying cars around me, and suddenly... boom.
Everything went black.
