Avon's POV
Disbelief is written on Jeremiah's face while looking at me. It took him a while to utter some words and for a minute I wish that I am deaf so I couldn't hear it.
"Is this your new plan so you can extort money from me?" he asked. I wanted to slap him when I heard those words come out of his mouth but I stopped myself because he is the only person that can help me.
When I left I heard that our company got bankrupt completely. My father was sent to the mental hospital since he can no longer control himself and his emotions. Mom on the other hand flew somewhere without even informing me. I have no family to help me in this crisis and the only person that I can lean on is Jeremiah so I am willing to swallow all those harsh words if that is what it takes to save my son.
