CHAPTER 7
BETTY
Elizabeth, (Betty) Morton had enjoyed her day, visiting her daughter in Birkenhead. Paula, her daughter, was thirty-five and the mother of two young children, who idolised their grandma, Betty likewise loved the children and always looked forward to her weekly trip to see Paula, and the two girls, Gemma and Sally. Paula’s husband, Bobby, was the area manager for a small retail furniture chain and spent two days a week working out of the company head office in Warrington, which left Paula free to spend some quality time with her Mum.
As usual, after a day of fun and games, Paula and the girls went with Betty to see her off on the short ferry ride back to Liverpool. Promising to bring the girls over to Knotty Ash to see their grandad at the weekend, they happily waved to B
