SILAS’S POV
“You were really on point out there, Silas,” a familiar voice said over my shoulder.
I spun around to see Jessica and Jane standing there. Jane leaned against the wall, her arms crossed, watching me. I offered a half smile to Jessica. “Thanks, Jess.”
Not thinking another thing bout it, I turned to head to the locker rooms. I was sweaty, exhausted, and ready to see Aurora. Being away from her for an extended period made me feel gutted. I wanted to embrace her, feel her warmth, and inhale her scent. There were tiny footsteps, and then Jessica shoved herself before me. “Where are you going?”
“To the locker room. I need to get changed.”
