Chapter 1

497 Words
White woke up to an irritating sound that he knew as the alarm. “I’m up, I’m up!” He yelled at the phone, dismissing the alarm. He took in a deep breath, preparing for another day at school. It had been six months since Crow suddenly disappeared without a trace. Airi had definitely left this world. The grief must be killing him inside. He shook his head awake, when I see him again, I’m kicking his ass. White got up from the bed and went into the closet to get his clothes for the day: a black t-shirt, black jeans, and black shoes. He went on his way to the bathroom to take a shower, his body aching in pain. He turned the water on in the shower and sat on top of the toilet as he waited for it to warm up. His face had a blank expression, a straight face, he had been trying to keep up for the past six months with close to total success. He looked at the curtains, a dark shade of blue, and moved them aside to check the temperature of the water with the palm of his hand. It felt warm. He undressed and walked into the shower and sat on the floor of the shower, allowing the water to go into his somewhat long hair and down his body. It was here in the shower, where he would allow the wall that was his straight face to have a hole. He began to cry, his eyes watering up and dripping to the floor, mixing with the water from the shower head. Did… Crow abandon me? Was I possibly… too demanding? He had kept from making any noise as he cried in the shower, he had become stronger than that. He took a deep breath, unsteady as it may have been; it helped to slowly calm him down. He took another deep breath, then another, until he had stopped the tears. He turned the water to the shower off and took the towel to dry himself off. When he was fully dry, he began to get dressed for school. He brushed his hair, looking at his eyes through the mirror. They were red and puffy, a reminder that he had cried in the shower. He took several more breaths, filling in the hole to the wall of his straight face. Soon enough, his eyes cleared up, appearing as if nothing had happened. He took his dirty clothes to the laundry room hamper. I’m gonna need to wash these. He looked down at the clothes in the hamper, realizing just how full it was getting. He had only recently figured out just how to wash clothes in the washer without the pods being stuck to clothes or without bubbles coming out of the washer. It’ll have to wait until I get home from school. He walked out of the laundry room and walked to the kitchen to get breakfast.
