The Vampire Princess

All that I remember from my childhood is the aroma of cherry blossom trees and the fact that I’ve always been guarded. My family is one of the wealthiest in the province and I am the only child so I am always being a target for low-life thieves. I found this out the hard way when I was little. I was kidn*pped by a group of thieves that not only kidn*pped the person but also sold them even after getting the ransom money. I was held by them for only a couple of hours in which I learned a lot about my own strength and my true nature.          I remember everything so clearly, I remember how that day when I woke up I got into an argument with my parents because they wouldn’t allow me to go to a friend’s birthday party. That day at school I decided to go to my friend’s party regardless of what my parents said. Unfortunately, after school everything went severely wrong. As soon as I had gotten outside a car pulled up in my regular waiting station where the family chauffeur usually picked me up. That day the chauffeur had been a little late thus giving the kidnappers the opportunity to act. When I reached the station the car drove up and one of the kidnappers said from the passenger seat window, “Excuse me, but could you tell me how to get to the nearest hotel?” I looked at him and said coldly but politely, “I don’t really have any idea of where the nearest hotel is, I’m sorry.” He simply smiled and said, “You are one useless girl.” I was shocked at his insulting words but before I noticed I was being forced to enter the car. I was tied up and muffled once I was in the car, they did not wait they fled the scene as soon as i was in the car. They put a piece of cloth with a strange liquid that smelled really bad on my nose and I fainted.  When I awoke I was in a dark room tied up on a chair. I heard voices but I couldn’t see anyone and that was when I realized that I was blindfolded. I could hear people chatting indistinctly but what caught my attention was the fact that someone said, “She is very beautiful. How much do you think she’ll cost?” My body became cold and I understood that I was in the process of being sold like an animal or a toy. At this time I was only 10 years old but my mind was capable of understanding like an adult. I was moved from wherever I had been held to another place that seemed to be filled with people by the sound of chattering. As I tried to listen to see how many people were there I heard a man say through a microphone, “We have an elite young girl, age: 10, hair color: dark brown, skin pale as the moon and eyes a beautiful brown.” The man kept talking about me so beautifully but it made me feel so angry and then he said loudly through the microphone, “Today we will be bidding her starting with 1.5 thousand dollars.” I could hear how a crowd went wild and he said loudly, “Two thousand… 2.5 thousand… three thousand… 3.5 thousand… four thousand…” The crowd kept raising the price and he became more and more excited about hearing the bidding grow higher and higher. Finally the screaming crowd began slowly diminishing in their screams and bidding. I was now worth 2.5 million dollars and the man bidding me said, “Final offer 2.5 million! Going once! Going twice!” He was interrupted by someone saying, “Three million that’s my final offer.” There was a low murmur flowing through the crowd and then the man said loudly, “Sold, for three million dollars!” My heart sank and I was enraged for what they had done to me. My small body began to feel strange and I began to feel the urge to kill them all. To my surprise I was no longer weak and my body reacted to my rage and urges to kill. I broke the rope which I had been tied with. I took the blindfold off and everyone was surprised to see me do this but once they saw me without a blindfold a loud scream came out from one of the persons in the crowd, a woman. My eyes were a crimson red and my pale skin made them look even more evil than they were. The crowd went mad as I walked towards the guy that had just sold me. He looked afraid but was trying to hold his fear in so no one would run away and he could get his money. I looked up at him and I jumped him without any warning. He stumbled back and fell on his back. I dug my right hand fingernails into his right shoulder. He screamed in pain but he tried to push me away but I would not budge. He tried to hit me but I used my free hand to scratch it and I seemed to have dug my nails deep enough to cut his tendon because he no longer could move his hand. He screamed in pain as the crowd was our horrified spectators. His screams of pain incited me more and I dug my nails and fingers into his throat. I wrapped my hands around his trachea and ripped it out of him. As silence indulged my ears I became soaked in blood but I was not calmed. As soon as the crowd saw me rip his throat open they all started to run away from me screaming for help. I once again became incited by the screams and quickly jumped from the stadium and began to kill the people running. By the time I was done I was standing in a pool of blood and dismembered bodies. I froze as I heard two pairs of footsteps heading my way and I hid. I saw my butler and the chauffeur standing in the middle of the gore scene. Claude, the butler, looked all around the dismembered bodies in search for something. He gave a look at Usagi then said, "I think she is alive somewhere." They gave each other a look then he said out loud, “My lady, please come out. We are sorry for having taken long to come for you.” I got out of my hiding place and I said, “I need clean clothes, Claude.” Claude said, “My lady, we must go before the police arrive so we won’t have time to get clothes for the moment.” I sighed softly and said, “Fine but I’m going to need something to cover myself before I get in the car.” The chauffeur, Usagi, simply said, “My lady, you don’t need to worry about it.” Claude saw that my body had become weak so he said softly to me, “My lady, should I carry you to the car?” I was about to refuse when my body gave up and I was about to fall. He caught me and then he said to Usagi, “We need to hurry they are almost here.” Usagi ran and Claude followed right behind him carrying me in his arms. We got in the car and Usagi speed away from the storage building where I had been held.  By the time we got home I had fallen asleep in Claude’s arms and he immediately took me to my parents’ office. When they saw me covered in blood they thought I was dead. They were getting ready to kill them but I awoke just in time. I said softly, “I’m sorry. I caused too much trouble for them and for you, mom and dad.” My mother took me from Claude and she hugged me and said a bit angrily, “From today forth you will be escorted by Claude and Usagi wherever you go. Do you understand?!” I nodded my head slowly and I looked at my father who had been very quiet. He said only one thing, “What happened to you?” When I heard that question I said confusedly, “I don’t really know what came over me.” Both my parents looked at me then my mother said, “Go get cleaned up. We will talk later about this.” Claude took me to my room then asked as he let me stand in my room, "Are you going to be okay, my Lady?" I took a deep breath then said, "I think I will be." He gave me a sad smile then I asked shyly, "Can I see your son later?" He gave me a sad look then said, "I don't think that will be possible. Your parents will be more vigilant about you." I gave him a sad look then said, "I never get to play with others and Sebastian is usually very nice to me." He chuckled then said, "I will see what I can do, My Lady." I gave him a warm smile then I closed the door. I looked around my room as if it was the first time I had seen it. I looked at my dirty clothes and I quickly began to remember what had happened. I ran to the bathroom and took my clothes off. I turned the shower on and jumped in. I began to scrub my body trying to get the blood off of me. By the time I was done an hour had past. I got dressed quickly then made my way to my father's study. I smelled food and my stomach began to growl. I ignored it and opened the study door only to find my parents whispering about something. As soon as they heard the door open they became quiet and their eyes fell on me. I felt scared because I knew I was going to be reprimanded by them.  My father who was usually very quiet and stern gave me a smile then said, "We need to speak to you about something important." My heart began to beat fast and fear began to take over. My father saw that and he said softly, "Why do you shake in fear?" My mouth was shut tight and I could feel a knot in my throat. My mother said in her soothing voice, "You are not in trouble, my dear. This was not your fault and we are glad you are safe and back with us." I looked at her then tears began to fall. She ran to me and hugged me tightly. My stern father was right behind her. They both held me tight and I began to calm down.  Once I was calm my father said, "We have something very important to tell you." I was being held by my mother in one of the chairs and I looked at my father more at ease. He continued, "What occurred to you today  was very traumatic and that caused a change in you." My eyes widen then I said, "You knew that I became different?" He said as he stood up and made his way to me, "We are not normal people, my dear." I looked at him confused then he continued, "When we become 15 or 16 years old we begin to change. We become strong, fast, our hearing, taste and sense of smell improves a lot." My mother added, "We also have certain features of our body change." I looked at her then said, "Our eyes become red." She smiled then said, "Our eyes become red, our skin more pale, we get fangs and sometimes our hair color changes depending on our power." I looked at her grayish color hair and my fathers. Compared to them I had dark brown hair that was wavy. My father said, "We are Vampires." That sentence sent a chill down my spine but it did not really scare me it actually made me relieved that I was something my parents knew and accepted. I smiled then my mother said, "For the time being we are going to keep you under strict surveillance and start introducing other vampire children to you." I became a bit stiff then my father said, "Claude has a son named Sebastian who sometimes comes to work with him. He will become your first introduction to see how you will do with other vampire children." I smiled then said as my stomach growled loudly, "Yes father." He chuckled then said, "Go get something to eat." But before my mother released me she asked, "Did you drink any blood?" My father shot her an upset look but I replied quickly, "No." She smiled and I left.  Thinking back to this I can see why they were so worried. My powers were so strong that they feared others would become aware and  try to destroy me. I was an innocent child until that day. I became tainted by something that I did not understand myself but I did not fear it. My life did not really change because that transformation only happened once.  I ate my meal with great pleasure. It almost seemed like I had been starving. The maid kept bringing me food and she looked amazed by my hunger. I had eaten 3 plates of food before I became satisfied. I looked at the maid as she was gathering my plates and I said, "Thank you, Hanna." She smiled then said, "You are welcome, My Lady." I smiled then got up to go for a stroll in the garden before I went to bed. I made my way to the garden as I saw our maids begin to clean and close windows. I opened the door to the garden and Usagi said as he saw me enter, "How do you feel, My Lady?" I smiled then said, "I feel much better now that I have eaten." He smiled then said, "Are going for a stroll in the garden before going to bed?" I nodded my head and he said, "Sebastian is in the maze. He was worried and asked his father to let him see you. We made sure that no one saw him." I smiled then said, "Thank you." I began to rush to the maze and as I entered I made my way to the center. In no time I found a boy sitting in one of the marble benches surrounding the rose bed in the center. I walked up to him then said, "Hi Sebastian." He turned to me then said, "You took long." I walked up to him as I said, "I was having dinner." He said as he moved a bit to give us enough space to sit side by side, "My father told my mother you had been kidnapped." I gave him a sad smile then said, " I was really scared." He handed a book to me then said, "I'm not sure if this will make you feel better but I think you should learn to protect yourself." I looked at the book and saw that it was a self defense book. His simple gesture to make me feel at ease made me happy. I smiled then said, "Will you be my sparring partner?" He chuckled then said, "I might hurt you in a fight." I chuckled then said, "You are older than me so you will have to teach me and go easy on me too." He laughed then said, "That would be bad for me." I frowned then said, "Why is that?" He rubbed the back of his head then said, "I'm going to go to a special training school next year when I turn 15." I looked at him a bit sad then said, "You won't be here for my 11th birthday?" He sighed then said, "I'll send you a gift." My smile was gone and I said, "If you are leaving then at least teach me how to defend myself." He smiled then said, "Okay. I will but your parents and mine must never know." I smiled then said, "It will be a secret." I stretched out my hand and gave him my pinky which he took in his then said, "It's a promise." I looked at the moon that was staring at us from the sky. He got up then said, "I have to go back now, Aarraa." I got up too and holding the book tightly to my chest I said, "Good night, Sebastian." He smiled then said, "Good night, Aarraa." We both began to walk in a different way. I went back to the entrance of the garden and saw Usagi waiting by the door. I gave him a smile then said, "Thank you." He smiled back at me as I walked back inside. I went straight to my room and got ready for bed. I placed the book under my pillow as I went to sleep. The next morning I woke up to the loud sound of thunder and heavy rain. I got up quickly and ran to my balcony door. I pushed the curtain that closed the glass doors and saw the rain falling and lightning illuminate the sky as thunder followed right behind it. I  love watching the rain. It always made me feel calm and it seemed to cleanse the earth. I was startled by the sudden sound of a knock. I turned then said, "Come in." My door opened and revealed Hanna enter. I smiled at her then said, "Good morning." She smiled then said as she went to fix my bed, "Good morning, My Lady." I said as I walked to the bathroom, "Are my parents home?" She said as she gave me another smile, "They are in the study waiting for you." I ran to my bathroom, closed the door and began to get ready. I put on a black dress and put my hair in a ponytail then I walked out of the bathroom and walked to the closet to put on white flats. Hanna smiled as she saw me then said, "You look very pretty, My Lady." I smiled then said, "Thank you, Hanna." I walked out and made my way to my father's study once again. As I opened the door I saw Claude and Sebastian standing in front of my father. I looked at him and them then said, "Good morning." Claude and Sebastian turned to me and bowed then said, "Good morning, My Lady." I became uncomfortable as I heard Sebastian say that to me. He would always call me Aarraa so hearing him call me my lady was uncomfortable. I smiled then my father said, "Aarraa, this is Sebastian, he is Claud's son." I smiled then walked up to him and stretched my hand out then said, "Hello Sebastian, I am Aarraa." He looked at my father who gave him a gesture then he said as he took my hand, "Hello Lady Aarraa, I am Sebastian, it is a pleasure to meet you." I hated hearing him so formal but as he shook my hand I felt something was wrong. He let go of my hand quickly then my father said, "He will be teaching you self defense until we get a new teacher and more vampire children." I looked shocked at my father as he said those words in front of Claude and Sebastian, who seemed unfazed. I nodded my head then said, "When can we start?" My mother smiled then said, "You don't act like a lady at all." I smiled then said, "I learned how to dance because you forced me but I definitely want to learn how to protect myself." My father chuckled then said, "You may start today in the gym." We made our way to the gym and Claude guided us in silence. I felt uncomfortable but just thought it was because my parents had spoken to them. We entered the gym and Sebastian said, "My Lady, you need to change into more safe clothes not a dress." I smiled then said, "Okay, I will be right back." I ran to my room and put on some sweatpants, a shirt and sneakers. I returned in a few minutes and Sebastian was already stretching. As soon as he saw me he said, "We need to stretch first before I begin to teach you." I followed as he did and we began to stretch. Once he thought that we had stretched enough he said, "Please come face me." I did as he said and we stood facing each other and I smiled again. He remained emotionless then said, "If someone is trying to grab you by the arm you can easily get away by moving your arm in this manner." He made me grab his arm tightly then he moved and quickly moved away from me. I looked at him surprised. He gestured me telling me that it was my turn. We spent most of the day doing different techniques in case someone tried to grab me. I was very happy to spend time with him. By the time he said it was time to stop I almost begged him to teach me more but he looked at the door and saw my father staring at us. He gave me a stern look and I new it was time to stop. I reached out to Sebastian then said, "Thank you." He took my hand and shook it quickly then said, "You are welcome, My Lady." I turned to my father and we left.      We walked to the living room and found my mother sitting by the fireplace reading a book. She looked up at us then said, "How were the lessons?" I smiled then said, "I learned how to get away from someone who is trying to grab me by the hand and from the back." She smiled then looked at my father who had been very quiet. He finally said, "You seemed very comfortable with him." I paused then said, "I would have to if not I would not have learned." He nodded his head then said, "Tomorrow some of my colleagues will come and bring their daughters to meet you." I smiled then said, "Are they vampires too?" My mother smiled then replied, "Of course." I gave her another smile and said, "I will go shower before going to get breakfast." They both gave me a nod then I left. I was happy to know that I was going to meet more vampires. I took a quick shower and as I finished getting dressed I ran to get some breakfast.  I sat in the dining room alone as I ate. I realized that I never saw my parents eat with me. I became curious and as soon as I finished eating I walked to the living room and found my mother still reading. I walked up to her then said, "Mom, why don't you and dad eat with me?" She looked away from her book and gave me a confused look then said, "We can eat but don't really feel hungry." I looked at her confused then she added, "We drink blood once in a while to stay strong but that means that we lose our actual appetite." I gave her a shocked look then said, "I think I will go out to the garden." She gave me a nod before I left.  I walked to the garden and felt the rain falling on my skin as I walked towards the maze. I was surprised as I saw Sebastian sitting in one of the marble benches. I ran to him then said, "Hey Sebastian." He quickly looked up at me and gave me a sad expression. I rushed to him then said, "What's wrong?" He shook his head then said with a smile, "Nothing." I looked at him trying to figure out what he meant by that. He got up then said, "I can't be like this with you anymore. I will be your teacher and I have to study as well for the classes that I have to finish." I felt sad but I understood that now he had to do more than he usually did so I just gave him a smile. He got up then said, "Bye, Aarraa." I felt like he was saying goodbye forever but I quickly replied, "I will see you tomorrow." He waved as he walked away from me.  I went back inside and found my father walking towards the garden. I saw him then said, "Hello father." He smiled then said, "Go to your mother she wants to go shopping for more dresses for tomorrow." I gave a sigh then said, "Fine." My father chuckled at my response but added, "Go get changed before you get sick." I smiled then rushed to my room to change.  My mother and I went shopping for more clothes that she needed rather than myself. I bought more clothing to help me with my training. We spent most of the day buying thing that I found unnecessary. Claude and Usagi followed us and held all of my mother's bags. I was beginning to feel tired but my mother had more to buy. By the time we noticed everyone was holding things for my mother.  We finally arrived home and I could not wait to go to sleep. I had a rough day following my mother from store to store looking for the things she wanted. I ate a snack then went to bed to sleep before she made me model all the clothes she had bought me. I anxiously waited for tomorrow to come so I could meet new people.
