Chapter 18: Stone-Tree

Jonah walked over to me and I stood up straight panting a little bit. He got down on his knees and inspected my waists, I looked down to see they were bruising. His forehead was on my stomach and he was breathing heavily. I made him look up at me and I saw his eyes were black. I gave him a confused look and Maddox sighed.

"I'm sorry little mate. I didn't mean to hurt you, I went to far." He whimpered. I squatted down, making my face level with his.

"You let go when I cried out right, you gave control back to Jonah?" He nodded. "That's all that matters. The second you realized I was hurt you handed me back to your gentler side. This was an accident, I know that you would never ever hurt me on purpose." I said as I kissed his cheeks. "Next time save it for Venus though okay?" He gave me a small smile and nodded. His eyes went from black to blue while I was still holding his head. I saw the pain the flicked through his gaze and I shook my head. "I'm okay babe. As long as I get to hold you after and tell you how much I adore you. I will always be okay."

"He left marks." Jonah whined. "He hurt you kitten. He went to hard."

"Jonah, listen kay?" he nodded. " If he had gone to far I would've said the word. I didn't even come close, because I knew niether of you can take it too hard mmkay?"

"I love you Kitten." Jonah said as he pulled me into him. He stood lifting me with him. I wrapped my arms around his waist and he carried me all the way up to our glorious shower. I heard him whimper as I turned my back to him and I looked back. His eyes were shining with tears. He took me into the bathroom and showed me the bloody mess that was my shoulder. I took a cloth with warm water and soap to find my flesh was still healing I watched as the wound closed and I purred at the small mark it had left. Jonah however put his head down and walked away from me. I followed him and climbed up on his back and clung to him like a baby gorilla.

"Jonah I'm okay. I'll..."

"No Kitten!" Jonah shouted cutting me off. "He left a f*****g mark on your back, I can't let him hurt you again, from now on you make the rules." Jo sighed and sat on the bed. I was still clinging to his back, I made my way around his torso and straddled his lap. I sighed and kissed his lips gently then I rested my head on his shoulder. My hands were rubbing his sides, his hands were around my waist holding me against him.

"We need a shower Jo, I love you and when your smell is all over me, but I don't think it would be respectful of us to arrive with Luna Kristen's body while we reek of sex." I said lightly, in response Jonah let go of my waist and gently slid my from his lap and we walked into the shower and got cleaned up. Jonah didn't say a word the whole time we packed, nor when we met up with everyone who was going. I was sad we couldn't take the bike so I kissed her good-bye, not even that got a reaction. We climbed into an SUV we were sharing with Kane and Corey, who was accompanying us, as a warrior and an unmated she wolf. I leaned into Jonah and sat silently with him the most of the 4hr ride. I felt a tear run down my face because it was killing me to see him this way. I felt him wipe it away and I looked up to see him smiling sadly at me.

(Jonah: I'm sorry kitten.) He said using our private mate link.

(Reya: I hate seeing you like this Jo. I never want to see you like this again, it hurts like hell, it hurts right here.) I pointed to my chest and he placed my hand on his heart. It began beating erratically.

(Jonah: Every time I think  about the mark he left this happens kitten. I can't fathom the idea that he was able to hurt you so badly and not realize it.) I put his hand on my heart which had a steady rhythm and i thought about the bite mark, my heart jumped a little, then I thought of how worried Jonah was and how amazing he is for being so worried. My heart began to go crazier than a sledgehammer.  

(Reya: This is is how crazy my heart beats every time I think of how much you care. I know you are horrified by what Maddox did, but truly I am okay. I will not let you punish yourself for something you had no control over. I love you Jonah, that means I accept you and Maddox because he is apart of you as Venus is with me.) I put my arms around his neck and kissed him softly, he returned the kiss and a tear slipped from his eye and he pulled me into him tighter.

(Jonah:  I love you Reya.) We held each other for the rest of the ride silently. I had my hand underneath his shirt resting on his rib tattoo, my favorite one, I ran my finger over the word mate absentmindedly. His cheek was resting on the top of my head and his hand was rubbing circles on my back. I took a deep breath as our SUV crossed the pack border, I took in Jonah's scent to calm my fraying nerves. We pulled up in front a beautiful two story light grey colonel house and came to a stop. We all exited the car, I walked to the SUV in front of my own with Jonah by my side. I took Clyde's hand and gave him a small smile when he looked up at me. He took a deep breath and his eyes clouded over with a mind link. It took ten minutes before Clyde nodded his head. In that time Queen Tempest and King Talon joined us as we walked to the steps of the pack house. 

A few pack members looked at me in shock and looked at Clyde, hoping to find an answer on his face. Jonah had his arm around my shoulder. Cairo was on the other side of Clyde looking up at our father with a sad look. Once all the wolves gathered Clyde began to speak.

"Stone-tree! Today I have come home with an abundance of news for you. First off, let me tell you, there is going to be a lot of life changing news!" The pack all nodded in unison. "First, I must apologize to you all, Luna Kristen was betraying our pack." I heard a ton of gasps. "She was using me for power and our pack for her own twisted game. Once Cairo was of age and became Alpha, Kristen planned on killing me and running the pack through her own son." I watched as a warrior put his head down, his eyes were filled with a burning rage and hatred, at Clyde. "The second piece of news I have for you, is that King Talon and Queen Tempest have joined me today to tell you of an alliance that has been made." Tempest and Talon stepped forward as the pack, stared with wide eyes. 

"Stone-tree, there is a war coming! Because of this looming threat, we believe that it would be beneficial for your small pack to join the Broken-arrow pack." Queen Tempest said. 

"Not only do they have the numbers to help with this threat, they have a graduate from Kingsley Academy who is willing to call in some of his training mate and train all of your warriors to be deadly weapons." King Talon added. 

"How would the alliance be sealed? How can we be sure Broken-arrow wont turn on us?" The warrior with hate eyes asked Clyde. 

"The answer is my next piece of earth shattering revelations Marcus." Clyde began looking at the warrior. "As all of you know, my mate Valery ran away nearly nineteen years ago. What none of us knew is that she ran away pregnant. Valery gave birth to the true heir of Stone-tree in Broken-arrow lands." He paused and I stepped forward, looking around at the pack. Jonah stood by my side with his strong hand on my lower back. "My daughter Reya, was raised by the Alpha family of Broken-arrow seeing as she had Alpha blood coursing through her veins. The only reason I was not aware of her existence was because Valery told Alpha Christian Reya was the daughter of Alpha Carson Peters." I watched as the wolves took me in, most of them looked disgusted by me, I didn't blame them. I looked like my mother unfortunately, I watched as a she-wolf undressed Jonah with her eyes. I growled lowly catching her attention and she looked at the ground.

"She is already threatening one of us! How the f**k can we trust her!?" Warrior wolf yelled. I stepped down and walked right in front of the tall wolf with a blank face.

"Tell me Marcus. How pissed would you be if you saw another male eye f*****g your mate?" I asked raising an eyebrow. He glared down at me, his rage spilling from his body like a poison.

"You are supposed to be an Alpha and more composed." He spat at me.

"That was composed." I said to him. "Alpha Clyde and Queen Tempest can assure you, if I were to lose my temper, not a single wolf here would dare to look me in the eye again. I may be small, but I can really kick ass if I get angry enough." I spoke loud enough for the whole pack to hear. "Hell you should have seen what I did to Valery once I saw her disgusting face."

"You would harm your own mother?" The she-wolf who had been eye stripping my mate asked. 

"Valery may have given birth to me, but she was not my mother. She left me with a warrior she had seduced while pregnant with me, so he would raise me after she decided to leave. And he did, until he realized he had been played, that Valery was a liar and manipulator. Once he discovered her true nature, he took every bit of rage he had for her, out on me." I said. I pulled off my shirt and tossed it on the ground barring my scars. I saw horror and disgust on their faces as they took in my traumatized torso. "These scars are only from the silver blade that was used, the ones dripping in wolfsbane didn't leave marks."

"That is disgusting." I looked at Marcus, he was making a face at my body and I turned toward him.

"Isn't this what you would want for your pup had Kristen left earlier and had Clyde found out the truth?" I asked. He took a small step back and his eyes widened like saucers. 

"WHAT!?" I heard Clyde yell. I held up my hand and stopped him, without turning to face him.

"Kristen was Marcus's mate. I could see his hatred for you the minute you said Kristen was a traitor. You knew about the plan to kill Alpha Clyde didn't you?" He snarled at me and reached for my throat, but was stopped by a very angry Jonah who threw him like a rag doll. Two other warriors grabbed Marcus while growling at him. I walked over and took his face in my hand. "You are lucky Jonah is here. If he weren't, you would be dead." I said before turning and walking away. I stopped back in front of the pack, who were watching me awestruck. A middle age woman stepped from the crowd and looked into my eyes. 

"You didn't even blink when Marcus came after you, I'm guessing it has to do with the scars." I nodded and she continued. "I can see your Alpha side, something I have never seen from Cairo. I also see the power in your mate. I accept you both as my new Alpha pair, I don't wish you to go through the trials we have. I know you will be good for us."

"Before you go any further I must tell you Stone-tree will be moving to Broken-arrow lands seeing as there are fewer blood rouges lurking there."

"I still accept you." She said bowing her head and dropping to one knee. I watched as the rest of the pack did the same. 

"I accept you Alpha Reya and Alpha Jonah." I heard their voices say. I felt a feeling of power wash over my being and I sighed and grabbed Jonah's hand. He turned his head and smiled down at me, a look of happiness and pride in his eyes. I smiled back and stood on my tip toes and kissed his cheek. We were now the Alpha's of a pack, I took a deep breath and sighed sadly, I was going to have to work on cars part time. Jonah chuckled beside me and rolled his eyes.
