Chapter 2: The Orphan Genius

Alexander Angkasa was very busy with himself at his private laboratory. He was a genius guy who created new technology in his experiment. Alex was 19 years old, and at this young age, he had been able to defeat other technology experts in the Cakrawalla Kingdom.

Alex's parents died in an accident on a business trip, and their bodies were never found. They left Alex and his twin Tania at 14 years, complete with a legacy of abundant wealth. These two poor children did not need to worry about their lives, and both were preoccupied with their respective geniuses. Alex grew up to be a quiet and solitary young man, busy creating new technology.

While Tania was obsessed with biotechnology and genetic engineering, unlike Alex, Tania grew to be a brave young woman who liked adventure. Even sometimes, Tania did not hesitate to endanger herself.

Alex strongly objected to Tania's careless and high-risk attitude. The twin sibling's inner bond was solid. Alex and Tania could feel each other. When Tania was injured, Alex also felt the same wound. When Alex was sad, Tania also felt the same sadness. Even though the two were separated in different places many kilometers away, the inner bond between Alex and Tania could still be felt. They tried to protect each other. They helped each other. That's why Alex was very annoyed at Tania. Tania's thirst for curiosity always made her involved in danger. Wherever Tania had a problem, Alex would be dragged to resolve Tania's problem. Alex would not leave Tania in danger. Alex came to help Tania at every moment.

One of the rare abilities possessed by Alex and Tania was communicating via telepathy. It's just that this ability was quite weak and could only be done at close range. If there were many electromagnetic waves around it, the telepathic messages sent by Tania and Alex to each other become obscure and distorted. For this reason, Alex continued to develop technology to strengthen telepathic signals between the two of them.

Nearly three years ago, Tania left for a very secretive experiment. Tania might not disclose the project's secrets to anyone, also its location. This made Alex very angry, knowing that Tania had been involved in a severe project. Even so, Alex understood that Tania still had to comply with the contract she had signed. Because of that, Alex did not ask further. Instead, Alex had already planted an ultra nanochip in Tania's body that could help Alex to find out the location and condition of Tania. The tool also allowed Tania and Alex to be able to telepathy remotely. It worked for Tania and Alex only. Tania warned him not to find her. It would be dangerous for both of them. Alex understood the situation.

Alex knew that there was a possibility that the ultra nanochip he installed would be discovered. Therefore Alex had added camouflage technology so that the current technology would not detect this chip. At first glance, if current technology tools scanned Tania's body, this ultra nanochip would not be detected. In the visual screen display of a scanner, Alex's ultra nanochip creation would look like part of one human tissue. Alex hid his ultra nanochip creation only for himself and Tania. Alex only had Tania in this world as his family. Alex wanted to make sure Tania stayed alive and fine. Alex hated to live alone. Luckily, Alex had done this before Tania left their house three years ago.

For the past three years, Tania had never come home for a holiday. Tania occasionally gave news via a video conference call to Alex. From another’s perspective, this seemed like an ordinary conversation between twins in general, which was boring. Tania and Alex understood that the employer was always watching Tania all the time. For this reason, wherever possible, they did not show suspicious behavior. In reality, the conversation actually happened in telepathy between the minds of Alex and Tania.

In telepathic conversations, Alex learned that employers were trying to develop technology using Super people's energy. The government had been trying to cover up the existence of Night Project, but Alex knew that experiments involving Night Land were still ongoing. As far as the government told the public, Night Project was a failed project to create a superpower human. Because what was created was a monster human who could not be controlled by the government, they were locked up in a secret place to be left to die there. More than a hundred years ago, the experiment was stopped. People had forgotten about the existence of the Night Project. However, it looked like the super energy-related experiments were still going on behind the scenes.

Alex had repeatedly warned Tania not to involve herself too far. This project seemed very mysterious and dangerous. But it seemed like Tania ignored Alex's warning. Tania's curiosity exceeded everything. Then, something terrible happened.

Two weeks ago, there was a great explosion at an electronics factory. It was suspected that there was a short circuit that caused the factory to experience a fire explosion. Some people reportedly burned.

Melati came hurriedly to Alex. She was breathing heavily because she had been walking in a hurry. She opened the door to Alex's office in Angkasa House.

"Melati, I'm busy working on digital programming languages. Did you forget that I really hate to be disturbed? My concentration was shattered," exclaimed Alex irritably.

Melati ignored Alex's complaint. She walked closer.

"Have you seen the news about the factory that burned, Alex?"

"Factory? What factory? What does that factory have to do with me?" asked Alex frowning.

"Supersonic electronics factory. Does the factory name ring a bell to you? That's where Tania works, right?"

Alex’s heart was pounding. He felt like his blood stopped flowing. Coldness filled his body. He stopped his task and looked for trending topics on the online television channel. A picture of the burning Supersonic electronics factory was clearly visible there. Several large explosions occurred, making the sky red and black all at once. Explosions of energy resembling bomb blasts were seen bursting into the air. Screams of fear and pain could be heard in the video. Many people ran to save themselves from bodily injuries. The situation was so chaotic.

Matias arrived shortly after, wanting to convey the same news.

"Alex. Have you seen the news? Tania ... "

"I know ..." answered Alex briefly.

Alex knew that the electronics factory was disguised from the super energy experiment site. Alex's heartbeat very fast. His breath was panting. Tania was there.
