Chapter Twenty two: Purple Lightning.

"How did he do that?"

"Is he some kind of god."

"I've never seen a god before."

"He's no god, he's Kurtis! That weak boy."

"But how did he became so stronger and have those ... purple lightnings?!"

"He even save the infected."

Everyone was just wondering what had just happened. What kind of powers he had used. Even the teacher that was assigned to monitor them was clueless on what had just happened. Question were being directed to him but all he said was that, he didn't notice that he had such powers.

Soon, rumours start spreading as they all said that Kurtis was a pretender. He had such powers but was hiding it.

Some mages had gathered stones and were about to throw it on Kurtis who had just landed Liza safely on the ground. But several knights stood on their way and prevented them from throwing stones at kurtis.

Kurtis did help as the stone beast that were attached to Liza had all left Liza's body. It was the lightning that had shocked the beast, and made it die instantly.

Melody's Jaw was opened wide as it was almost touching the floor. How could someone have rescued Liza at the very last minute. Not only that, but the beast that was stuck onto Liza's body was also removed. She never think her magic could work at such an extent.

Two things at once. Ever since Melody was born, she has never seen people with so much knowledge and much skills in Magic. She always think of herself as someone who had the best powers ever to be found. But ever since she had met Vic, every of her own thoughts and believe happened to be untrue.

Especially since she came to this strange place, the display of magic and powers were beyond her knowledge. Despite her vast knowledge, she couldn't figure out some of the magics performed by the young mages.

Among these mages, one of them had sacrificed a lot to save Liza. Who knows the amount of Mana he had used.

It's not that she's not happy about the way Liza was rescued, but she had a thought in her mind that hadn't occured once in her life. Although someone like Vic had constantly mentioned it to her, she didn't see it as something she would need then but now she's desperately in need to get stronger. Not just stronger but possibly the strongest.

The most happiest person is Butch. To get to see his twin sister alive once again is a privilege, a great privilege.

After Kurtis had laid Liza on the ground, he cancelled his lightning powers and left to go into the crowds.

"I saved someone! I saved a person!!" Kurtis exclaimed in his mind, not caring about the insult and evil words that were being directed at him. As he went through the crowds to where his fellow six friends with lightning abilities were seated, he kept on smiling.

The first thing that happened, his six friends gave him a true friend hug.

"I didn't believe you could use your powers." Amy said

"I was amazed myself, it just happened when I felt sorry for the lady." Kurtis replied.

"Hey, this is not the first time you'll be feeling sorry for others. You have felt sorry for countless of people, but your powers didn't come around!" Belkin objected.

"That's the issue, I need to learn more about my powers. And I want you too, my friends to discover a way on how to activate and use your powers. I would suggest you train more to get more Mana." Kurtis said still thinking of what had happened a while ago when he activated his powers.

' I really need to know more about myself and powers '

Vic and Spiro were running after a beast, a basic tier beast. It was a giant antelope, it was so tall and fast, but the only thing that was hindering the speed of the beast was the forest trees. The beast had several wounds and scar on its body. This was because Vic and Spiro had been fighting with it for a while but it wasn't giving up at all.

They have searched through the forest for Melody and the others but they had no luck so far and so they couldn't find any traces of them around.

Before they went after this basic tier beast, after so much fussing around, Spiro had brought up the idea of hunting beast, and Vic very much appreciated the idea. He has been planning on how and when to hunt beasts all alone to get rewards and also to get stronger. But since the person beside him had suggested that they should hunt beasts, then it has already been settled. He just need to be careful on how he deals with this system thing.

The system had told him some couple of hours ago that each gems of beast he kills would automatically appeared into his hands. Meaning that he won't have to carve the gems out of the beasts he kills.

It would be strange if the gem that he didn't carve out of the beast, suddenly appeared in his hands, just like that.

Still, he needs to pretend to be carving out the gemstone from the beast.

"Oh man, I can't get stronger in this weak state of mine." Vic proclaimed. "I ... need.. to ...kill this ...Beast!!"

Vic shouted and like a wind, he ran past Spiro, who had been at the front this whole while.

"Spiro, throw me your spear!" Vic shouted. Immediately, the spear flew past him and when he got to where the spear had landed, he picked it up and increase his speed once more. They had ran out of the forest into a rocky land.

It was like they were at the foot of a mountain.

All this while, Vic had been focusing his attention mainly on the beast that he didn't notice that they had left the forest.

He wants the beast dead at one kill, so he threw out the spear at the time he had estimated to be the perfect reach.

The spear struck down the beast as it was about to jump over a hole, but down it goes. The beast fell into the hole dead.

"Whoaa! what a quick move but you just spoil the whole thing in an instant. Now the beast has fallen down that damn hole. And if we are to go down there, it will require us to pass through the forbidden temple. But it is a taboo for anyone to go through that temple." Spiro said sadly.

' Strange? ' Vic thought. ' The system didn't give me a gemstone, but it is saying that I need to search for it and also complete a quest. But failure to do so! ... '

"Spiro, do you know the way to the temple?" Vic asked.

"Yeah, it's just a day's Journey down the end of the hole, but we still have to walk down the mountain, to the hidden entrance. Then we just have to go all the way down the dark mountain and we'll reach the end of the hole. Why are you asking." Spiro questioned.

"I'm going there!" Vic answered.

"You're going! .... where?" Spiro was confused by the answer Vic gave him.

"No, no, no, it was all a joke. I don't know where the temple is. Please come back!!"
