Chapter Thirty-one: A beast in an human form

Neri, the student mage looked around to see if there is someone nearby listening to what they are saying, but after confirming that no one was listening, the boy answered Kurtis question.

"Last night, I was sent by our class Master to help carry some items into the room of one of the Master Knights." He said, "I obeyed and did as I was bid but when I was coming back, I saw some student knights standing on a rocky hill."

"Surprisingly, they all start changing into a beast." the boy said.

"A beast? You mean they changed from an human to a beast?" Kurtis was wondering how it was possible.

"They saw me spying and the next thing, they ran after me and took me into a very dark room and after some hours, they started beating me. Threatening to kill me if I ever say anything to anyone. After they beat the hell out of me, they took me outside the room and brought me here, but before they went back, they gave me a few kicks and punches." Neri explained crying.

' Why did they left him alone even when they knew that he knows their secret. Should I really believe this kid. 'Kurtis thought still doubting what Neri had said.

"It's okay Neri, don't cry you should go in now, I'll take care of this matter later by myself." Kurtis said.

Kurtis escorted Neri to the gate but due to the fact that he's under a punishment, he couldn't escort Neri further. The gate opens by itself automatically.

It is part of the achievements that the old student Mages of the school made.

Kurtis warned Neri not to mention his name if anyone asks or talks about him.

Kurtis quickly hide under the tent where he was hiding before. He has a plan, a plan to find out those humans who are transforming into beasts.

It was night time, and the half moon was shining brightly all over the land.

Kurtis could be seen walking towards a room in the Knight school compound.

The hill that Neri described was near the room.

To not get spotted, Kurtis hide under a shade that was void of light.

Kurtis had waited for a long time, just for someone to get out of the room, yet no one came out. Until he was starting to get bored and he decided to peep through the window of the room.

But something stopped him from going.

"Were... what?"

In an instant, he saw some groups of student Knights going towards the hill that Neri had described to him.

One of the knights placed his two hands down on the floor and in an instant, he start transforming into a Werewolf. The others did the same thing and they all were in a werewolf form.

They are five in total.

The next thing, they start heading towards Kurtis who was still hiding under the shade.

He was getting nervous and scared, but not without the mix of anger.

He was angry that there are knights that are not born human and still, they pretended to be humans. The system warned him a while ago that he should escape from the Werewolf boss, but he didn't know which one was their boss.

"Where?"

Kurtis didn't know how, but whenever there is a danger ahead or when he is angry, his lightning powers gets activated by itself.

"It's a nice thing to have this handy." Kurtis said as he realized that behind him, a werewolf was standing there. The werewolf was killed by his lightning power. "I guess this is werewolf boss!"

The other werewolves ran out of the place as they saw that one of them had been killed in an instant.

Kurtis was happy that he defeated something for the first time of his life.

He remembered when he had lightning powers, but he didn't know how to activate the powers.

But some unknown source system had helped him out. When he rescued Liza from falling down the tree, he was angry at that time and that was how the lightning powers were activated.

' So, I need to get angry if I want to activate my powers. This theory might be useful for Amy and the others. ' Kurtis was referring to his six other friends who all have the same ability as him.

While he was still rejoicing, he felt something grabbing his hands and feet.

In an instant, his hands and feet were tied by a chain and the person who had done this was a teacher Knight.

The man had a calm look on his face, but his actions are far different from his facial expression, making it impossible to read his thought.

He only have the good looks but his actions were far different.

"What are you doing to me??" Kurtis shouted.

"I Am Doing... What.. Is.. Right!" the man said smiling breaking down each sentences.

The man held him bound by the chain and Soon after, he drew him towards the mage school.

"Do you know what I'm called?" The man asked. "I am called the smiley mist."

"If I want to kill you without you seeing me, I can do so in seconds. So, if you think that those lightning abilities of yours could save you. That is a number one error. I believe you've seen who we are, and you have know what we are. Maybe, you might be the next person for our task." The man laughed out like a mad man.

' What is this man saying. Is he their boss? ' Kurtis wondered.

They got to the gate entrance of the mage school 3 and right in front, two mages were standing.

"Thank you so much, Smiley mist!" One of the mage said.

"Make sure you take good care of him. And don't worry, he won't say anything." The man said as he left.

Kurtis was taken under a dungeon. It was dark but he wasn't alone.
