Forgive me
Liam and I had a long conversation in the garden after I put Leon to sleep. I named my son Leon after my father which Liam approved of even though I didn’t necessarily require his approval.
“I know what I did is unforgiveable. I should have told you the moment you came into my office as my assistant, but I don’t know what held me back. I became fond of you and I wanted a fresh start. It was selfish of me to do so and am sorry. I wanted to tell you so many times but never had the courage to.”
He held my hand in his hands so tight and didn’t let go even once. Soon tears started to flow on my face. I wanted to cry out loud and burry my face into his chest and I soon did that. I cried so much his shirt got wet from my crying.
“It was so hard. For two weeks I cried myself to sleep regretting all this. How could I fall pregnant and not know who the father of my child was” I broke down into louder sobs.
Darcy came to check if I was fine and found Liam with me. She returned to her work when I told her I was okay and asked her to check on Leon. It lasted hours of him apologizing and convincing me to return to Zambia. I eventually forgave him but denied returning to Zambia with him.
My grandparents were fond of Liam, but they didn’t agree with me moving back to Zambia to raise Leon there. They said I could move back only when Leon was at least 4 years old and Liam couldn’t wait that long.
When Leon was a month old, Liam moved out and rented an apartment close by, he felt awkward staying with us even though my grandparents were okay with him staying with us. it was hard for him to manage the Zambian office while in Canada and so he travelled back to Zambia two months later.
Soon after he informed me that his cousin agreed to switch with him to run the Zambian office while he run the London office. Which was great because then he would fly over to Edmonton every Friday and return to London Sunday late afternoon. During the week we would video chat when Leon was awake of course because Liam wanted to see him. I usually went to his apartment a few hours before he would arrive and make him a good meal.
