Noah's POV:
Our baby keeps getting bigger. I went with Jasmine to her last appointment with the doctor. We'll have a girl. I am so excited to see her. I wish she could have been born already. I want to take her and never let her go. My girlfriend keeps complaining about how fat she is. I don't know what else she expected. Pregnant women gain some weight. This is how their body works. After some time, she will get back to normal. The most important thing is for our baby to be born safe. Nothing else matters. I'm making her to drink more water and eat healthy food. This will help the baby. Soon, she will be in the seventh month. Almost two months have left until she is born. I think Jasmine has to move in. I wasn't sure about this, but someone needs to take care of her. Mom can do this job. She is not doing anything else. The other thing is that they understand each other well. Granny won't be happy. I will talk with her about this. I can't leave my girlfriend alone. She has parents, but I don't know what their relations are. I wanted to talk with them, but I never got enough time. Jasmine can't find out about this. Otherwise, she will stop me. I don't know why she doesn't want me to see her parents. Maybe something has happened between them. The last thing she needs is stress. The doctor forbade it. I hope that our baby will be born healthy.
It's the weekend. I will use it to talk with my grandma. Jasmine will move in today. After a week, she will be in the seventh month. I have to keep an eye on her. She and my grandma have some differences, but they should overcome them. This baby is mine, and I won't stay away from it. I still have doubts about this. Well, I won't take care of them. I have other things to do. After all, I have to go to work every day. The business between my mom and Jasmine was a failure. I don't think it was ever going to happen.
Currently, I am having breakfast. I woke up earlier today. I told Carla not to make me anything. I can take care of myself. It's enough that my mom puts pressure on her. Honestly, she is the only one who does it. Everyone else likes the meals Carla makes. They are delicious. Mom needs to stop complaining about her. The woman is doing her job perfectly. I was eating when my grandma joined me. I don't think the news will be good. She looked at me but didn't say anything.
- Is everything ok? Why are you looking at me like that?
- You will make a mistake.
- Granny.
- Let me finish. You will make a mistake, but I won't do anything. She can come to live here. That is, as long as she doesn't act like your mom. It's enough that I have to stand her. I don't want another copy. - she said, and I laughed
- Don't worry. I will keep an eye on her.
- Good.
- What were you doing at my age? You don't talk much about the past.
- Working. What was I supposed to do? I needed money.
- Didn't you go out with friends from time to time?
- I didn't have much free time. Why are you asking?
- Because, except for you, everyone has shared a story from their past.
- Mine are not that interesting.
- I don't mind.
- But I do. Go and take care of your girlfriend.
- Are you mad at me now?
- No, I'm not.
- I know your childhood wasn't easy, but this doesn't mean you should be ashamed.
- What? How do you know?
- Your boyfriend told me. - I said, chuckling
- I don't have. I get it. Your grandpa is in trouble.
- Please don't get mad at him. He said it because you were never going to do it.
- I have my reasons.
- Would you like to take care of the baby? You can play with her all the games you couldn't play when you were a kid.
- Really? Will you let me do this?
- Of course. You are her grandmother.
- Great-grandmother.
- It's the same thing. She won't make the difference.
- I'm doing it only because of you. Jasmine doesn't deserve it.
- You said it, not me.
- I keep my word.
- I know. Thank you for that.
- Why did no one wake me up? I want to be part of the conversation.
- Good morning, grandpa.
- To you, too, kid. How are you?
- I'm fine, thanks. I see you are in a good mood.
- I have no reason not to be.
- That's a good thought.
My parents came to eat as well. Mom asked me when Jasmine would come. I offered to go and take her from her house, but she refused. I don't understand why she doesn't want me to go there. I feel like the problem is her parents. Something has happened to them. I won't get involved in this. There is a chance that I might not like the truth.
Jasmine came around 11 am. She took a taxi. My services were available, but she didn't use them. She brought three suitcases and two small bags. It's like she is ready to live here. I don't mind. The baby needs both its parents. I told Carla what to make her for lunch. Jasmine wasn't happy but didn't say anything. This girl needs to eat healthy. Junk food is delicious. Well, I want her to take care of herself. It's not that much. I took her to my room and left her things there. She started ordering everything. Hopefully, there will be some space for me.
- Did you bring everything necessary?
- Yes, I did.
- I could've come to help you.
- I'm fine.
- Why don't you want me to talk to your parents?
- I have told you. They don't like guests.
- That would've taken like ten minutes. I'm sure you have packed everything.
- This doesn't matter. Can we not talk about them?
- Do you have problems with them? I can help you.
- I said something.
- Fine. I won't argue with you. Do you need help with the bags?
- No, I will do everything alone.
- Are you ok? You don't look happy.
- I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me.
- But I want to. You know what the doctor says.
- That is the only thing you care about.
- What do you mean?
- You don't care about me. You care about the baby inside of me.
- That is not true. I care for both of you.
- Are you sure?
- Yes, I am. You don't need to ask me this.
- Let's say that I believe you.
- I'm serious.
- Then show it.
- How?
- That is something you have to figure out alone.
- I will do it.
I convinced Jasmine to let me help her. This way, we finished faster. I think she got mad at me for asking about her parents. It was a simple question. I didn't do anything else. I can insist more, but that won't be now. Hopefully, she will tell me the truth. When we finished ordering, we went for lunch. Jasmine didn't talk to me much.
- I'm glad that you finally came. We need to get outfits for the baby and prepare everything for the big day. You never know what might happen. - mom said
- It's too early. The girl is not even in the seventh month. - granny said
- She will be in a week.
- So what? She won't give birth soon. If you want to spend money, earn them.
- Mom, please. Not now. - dad said
- Then when?
- When you two are alone.
- For your information, I have money on my own. - mom said
- Yes. The ones that my son gave you for your birthday. You don't have anything.
- The fault that my husband loves me is not mine.
- Mom! You can't say that. - I said
- Why not? It's not a lie.
- When will you two stop arguing? I have been listening to this for years. It's getting annoying.
- Tell this to your grandmother.
- No, I am telling this to you. Both of you need to sit and talk. It's not that hard.
- It's not easy for me to talk to her.
- Because you never tried. You two need to understand each other. Otherwise, Jasmine and I will move out.
- What? Why? - Jasmine asked
- I don't want the baby to listen to this every day.
- I'm sure they will stop doing it.
- This depends on them.
- You can't take my granddaughter away from me. - mom said
- Then do something.
- You can't do this to me.
- I can do whatever I want. The baby is mine.
- Won't you say something? - she asked, looking at my dad
- It's his decision, not mine.
Mom didn't say anything and left. Jasmine went after her. I didn't want this to go that far, but someone had to say it. She and my grandma will never understand each other. I don't know if I can do something about this.
I stayed for some time in my room. Jasmine was still with my mom. Later, I walked out. I needed some fresh air. Dad saw me and joined. It will be good to talk to him. He might tell me what to do.
- I'm proud of you for what you said.
- I'm annoyed.
- You can't change them.
- I never said I wanted this. Why do they always have to argue?
- Your grandma didn't like your mom since we started dating. She thought that this woman wasn't for me.
- But you married her.
- Because I loved her.
- Loved? What about now?
- I won't lie that she has changed.
- In a good or a horrible way?
- I don't know.
- Money changed her mind.
- This is why my mom has a problem.
- The same goes for Jasmine.
- When I was still in high school, your grandma tried to spend as much time with me as possible. She was busy but always had even five minutes for me. Your mom wasn't like that. She was spending time with you, but not the way your grandma did.
- So the problem is that my mom and Jasmine do things differently than my grandma.
- I think so. You can talk to her, but I don't think she will tell you something more.
- I know.
- Do you plan to move out with Jasmine?
- No. I only said it to make my mom stop arguing. I can't leave Jasmine alone. She will need help.
- We are here for whatever you need.
- Thanks. I appreciate it.
- Do you want us to go for drinks? I know a place.
- I would love to. I won't deny some distraction.
- Let's go then. It closes early on the weekends.
- Dad?
- Yes.
- Thank you.
- You can talk to me about everything.
The rest of the day I spent with my dad. I need to find friends my age, but I don't have much time for this. I go to work and then back home. Since Jasmine got pregnant, I put all my attention on her. I don't have much time for anything else. Well, I can try to go out more. This will be good for me. I might take Jasmine as well. That is only if she wants to come. I won't force her. After some time, moving around will be hard for her. I will be there to help her. Mom will probably do it the most. She and Jasmine are inseparable. I hope that my mom and grandma will stop arguing.
